Eliza Sutton didn’t dodge.
She just looked up at Fabian Lockwood and said calmly, "Mr. Lockwood, you’re here."
Fabian Lockwood snatched his hand back and leaped far away like a startled rabbit, his hands flailing wildly.
"Brother, don’t get the wrong idea! I just saw a leaf fall on my sister-in-law’s head..."
Fabian Lockwood went on for a while before realizing he was talking to thin air.
Shane Lockwood wasn’t there at all.
Fabian Lockwood gritted his teeth. "Eliza Sutton, you tricked ! Did you really think I’d get scared just because you said Shane Lockwood’s na? Let tell you, I want to sleep with you, and I’d dare say it to Shane Lockwood’s face even if he were standing right here!"
"Is that so?" Shane Lockwood’s chilling voice rang out, as if laced with ice. "Why don’t you tell one more ti?"
"Sh... Shane Lockwood!"
Fabian Lockwood never expected Shane Lockwood to actually be back.
He stared at the wheelchair-bound Shane Lockwood as if he’d seen a ghost. Finally, unable to bear the pressure, he dropped to his knees with a THUD.
"Brother, I just had a little too much to drink tonight. I was just acting out. Please, just forget this ever happened."
Eliza Sutton couldn’t help but click her tongue.
’She had a reasonable suspicion that the only reason Shane Lockwood had tolerated these idiots from the second branch for so long was because Fabian Lockwood was so quick to kneel.’
When Fabian Lockwood saw Eliza Sutton standing to the side as if nothing had happened, he imdiately jumped up, pointed at her, and shouted, "Brother, this woman seduced ! She’s trying to ruin our brotherly bond!"
Eliza Sutton was speechless.
’When it ca to being a turncoat, Fabian Lockwood really took the cake.’
Shane Lockwood’s gaze drifted over to him. "Did I say you could get up?"
Fabian Lockwood imdiately knelt down again, his knees together and his hands placed primly on top of them, looking more obedient than a little rabbit.
Shane Lockwood looked at Eliza Sutton. "Let’s go."
Fabian Lockwood asked, "Brother, what about ? Can I go too?"
"Did I say that?" Shane Lockwood was impatient. "Kneel properly. Until dawn."
Fabian Lockwood pleaded, "Co on, Brother! It’s not worth it over a woman. Besides, if I kneel until dawn, won’t my legs be ruined?"
"Your legs can be ruined right now."
Fabian Lockwood quickly said, "I think I can kneel here and watch tomorrow’s sunrise on your behalf, Cousin."
Shane Lockwood ignored him and walked away, pulling Eliza Sutton along by the wrist.
Just then, Florence Young walked over. Seeing her son kneeling on the ground, she rushed toward him, crying out, "Son, what’s wrong? Why are you kneeling here?"
"Why else? It’s because of my dear cousin, of course. He saw harassing Eliza Sutton and made kneel here."
Florence Young cursed, "You just harassed Eliza Sutton a little, what’s that worth kneeling over? I’m going to go find him right now and see if he’s really going to cast aside his family ties for a woman!"
Hearing his mother’s words, Fabian Lockwood scoffed. "Mom, don’t be ridiculous. and Shane Lockwood, family ties? Even the ants on the ground wouldn’t believe that."
"You child, you just say whatever you want." Florence Young paused. "So you’re just going to kneel here?"
"Yeah. My brother told to kneel, so I have to kneel properly. Kneeling for even a second less would be disrespectful to him. I have to show Grandpa my sincerity, right?"
Florence Young imdiately understood and patted Fabian Lockwood’s shoulder. "My son is so clever. You’ll have to suffer tonight, but tomorrow morning, I’ll help you put on a big show."

The mont Shane Lockwood entered the foyer, he let go of Eliza Sutton’s wrist. Looking at Mrs. Chandler who ca to greet them, he ordered, "Prepare a guest room for Eliza Sutton."
"A guest room?" Mrs. Chandler asked quickly. "Eldest Young Master, Mistress, did you have a fight?" She added, "It’s normal for newlyweds to bicker, but there’s no need to sleep in a guest room, is there?"
Shane Lockwood frowned. "Are my words no longer effective?"
"Effective, of course they’re effective. It’s just that our guest rooms don’t have beds or blankets right now. It’ll take a while to set one up. I’ll call Mrs. Lockwood right now." Mrs. Chandler said, making a move to call Mrs. Lockwood.
Shane Lockwood had no choice but to give up. "Forget it..."
’If Mom really got involved, he’d be the one who had to endure the nagging.’
With a taut expression, Shane Lockwood went upstairs.
A triumphant smile appeared on Mrs. Chandler’s face. Seeing Eliza Sutton still in the living room, she quickly ushered her upstairs. "Mistress, you should hurry upstairs. The Eldest Young Master’s health is poor; he can’t be without his wife’s care."
And so, Eliza Sutton was half-pushed, half-dragged into the room by Mrs. Chandler.
Then the door was shut heavily in front of her.
Eliza Sutton turned her head and saw Shane Lockwood right behind her.
She imdiately forced an awkward smile. "Looks like I’ll be troubling you tonight, Mr. Lockwood."
Hearing Eliza Sutton’s polite words, Shane Lockwood’s expression grew even colder. He said bluntly, "You don’t have to be a bother. You can leave right now."
Eliza Sutton briskly pulled the door open.
And Mrs. Chandler tumbled in.
Mrs. Chandler looked mortified. "Mistress, I just saw that the door was dirty, so I was wiping it. Yes, wiping the door."
Eliza Sutton was speechless.
’Could this excuse be any more perfunctory or fake?’
Eliza Sutton took a deep breath. "Well then, you take your ti wiping. I’m going to bed."
Closing the door, Eliza Sutton said to Shane Lockwood, "Um, Mr. Lockwood, it seems I’ll have to trouble you for one more night after all."
Shane Lockwood sneered. "Trouble ? Eliza Sutton, do you think you have that privilege?"
’So, what Yama Lockwood ans is that I absolutely have to leave?’
’That’s not impossible.’
Eliza Sutton made an "OK" gesture. "In that case, I won’t disturb you any longer, Mr. Lockwood."
’Can’t use the door, but I can use the window. For , going out the window is no different from walking on flat ground, anyway.’
Eliza Sutton walked briskly to the balcony and slid open the glass window.
Shane Lockwood had originally wanted Eliza Sutton to say sothing conciliatory.
He admitted to himself that he was bothered by the fact that Eliza Sutton had ntioned divorce and moved out of the Lockwood estate.
He wanted her to back down.
However, before he could hear any conciliatory words, he saw Eliza Sutton walk to the balcony, open the glass window, and look as if she was about to jump.
Before his brain could even process it, Shane Lockwood had already wheeled himself over, even standing up from his wheelchair to grab Eliza Sutton.
But it only lasted for a few short seconds.
In those few seconds, he pulled Eliza Sutton back from the window, and he himself fell to the floor as his legs gave out.
The fall hurt a lot.
Especially his back.
The scabs on his wounds tore open at once, and crimson blood flowed out, bringing with it a wet, sharp pain.
But Shane Lockwood paid it no mind.
His face contorted with rage, he glared down at Eliza Sutton pinned beneath him and roared, "Eliza Sutton, what the hell are you doing?! I just said a few words to you! Was that any reason to jump off a building?"
Eliza Sutton blinked in confusion. "N-no... it’s not like that..."
’When did I ever plan to jump off a building?’
