"Smooth talker," Shane Lockwood scoffed.

Eliza Sutton smiled, deftly grabbing gauze to bandage the wound.

"There, Mr. Lockwood."

Shane Lockwood watched Eliza Sutton for a mont, then looked away. "I’m hungry."

Eliza Sutton imdiately said, "I’ll go make a bowl of vegetable noodles for you, Mr. Lockwood."

Eliza Sutton worked quickly, soon returning with a bowl of noodles. It was a light dish, completely atless.

Shane Lockwood took a bite. It was surprisingly delicious.

He glanced at Eliza Sutton and said, "If you’re willing, you can be my personal chef after we divorce."

Eliza Sutton replied, "Thank you for the offer, Mr. Lockwood, but I’ll have to refuse. I’m a petty person. I couldn’t bear to watch my own ex-husband flaunt his love for another woman."

Shane Lockwood’s eyebrows rose. "I didn’t expect you to have that side to you."

As Shane Lockwood spoke, his lips curled into a slight smile, and his mood inexplicably brightened.

「anwhile.」

In a VIP ward at the General Hospital.

When Chairman Willow and his wife, Susan Lancaster, rushed over, Ivan Willow had just regained consciousness.

Seeing her son’s deathly pale face, Susan Lancaster’s heart ached for him.

She was furious. "Who had the audacity to beat my Ivan like this!"

The lackey who had brought Ivan Willow in explained, "We don’t know. Master Willow just spotted a woman at the bar. He’d only said a few words before she attacked. We warned her that he was a young master of the Willow Family, but she didn’t seem to care at all."

Susan Lancaster was enraged. "How outrageous! I’d like to see which vixen dares to show such blatant disrespect for the Willow Family!"

Just then, Ivan Willow, now fully awake, started to whimper, "Mom, you’re finally here! I thought I was never going to see you again!"

Chairman Willow frowned. "Didn’t I forbid you from going to places like bars? Do my words an nothing to you?"

Ivan Willow flinched. The thought of his father’s punishnts terrified him, and he clung to Susan Lancaster. "Mom, it hurts so much! You have to get justice for !"

Susan Lancaster’s heart broke for him. "Is this really the ti to be scolding him for going to a bar? The most important thing right now is to get revenge for our son! If the young master of the great Willow Family gets beaten like this and we stay silent, we’ll beco a laughingstock!"

Ivan Willow chid in, "My mom’s right! We have to drag that woman, Eliza Sutton, over here and let teach her a proper lesson! Make her understand that for soone of my status to even take an interest in her is the blessing of a lifeti!"

Before Chairman Willow could speak, a voice thick with killing intent cut through the air.

"My, what an impressive display of power, Master Willow. I’d love to know how you plan to teach... Eliza Sutton... a lesson!"

As the voice faded, the door to the hospital room was thrown open with a BANG.

Ivan Willow imdiately flew into a rage. "Who the fuck are you? Who do you think you are to comnt on what I do... AAGH!"

Before Ivan Willow could finish, a sharp slap struck him across the face.

Susan Lancaster shrieked and lunged forward, yelling, "Who are you?! How dare you hit my son!"

Chairman Willow’s expression darkened as well. "Who might you be? Striking soone without a word is taking things too far."

"My na is Saul Reynolds." Saul Reynolds, who had entered with Night Owl, produced a business card and handed it to Chairman Willow. He said with a broad smile, "And the one who did the hitting is our Lord Hawke."

Chairman Willow’s expression tightened. He recognized the na. Saul Reynolds was the General Manager of Innis, the brand backed by that mysterious international fashion designer.

For years, with that designer’s full support, Innis had been the only entity in the fashion world that could rival the designers of the Lockwood Group.

As the public face of Innis, Saul Reynolds’s na was one he had heard constantly.

Chairman Willow’s expression grew more solemn. "General Manager Reynolds, I’m not sure how my worthless son has offended you, but I’ll have him apologize to you at once."

Saul Reynolds was known for being a "smiling tiger." He chuckled and said, "Chairman Willow, you’re being too serious. How could a nobody like dare to be offended? The one who asked to co and ’visit’ Master Willow today is my boss’s benefactor."

Saul Reynolds knew Eliza Sutton didn’t want to reveal her identity, so he fabricated the title of "Benefactor Innis" for her.

Saul Reynolds continued, "My boss said that if her own benefactor is to be humiliated in Seabourne, then she will have no choice but to return personally and wash away this disgrace."

Chairman Willow’s expression froze. He forced a smile and said, "Master Innis is taking this too seriously. Once this disobedient son of mine has recovered a little, I will personally bring him to apologize to Miss Sutton. I guarantee we will make sure she is satisfied."

Saul Reynolds bead. "I knew Chairman Willow was a reasonable man. This way, I can report back to Master Innis with peace of mind."

He turned to Night Owl. "Lord Hawke, let’s head back."

Night Owl didn’t speak. Instead, he walked over to Ivan Willow.

Ivan Willow’s eyes were wide with alarm. "Wh-what do you want?"

Night Owl remained silent. He simply placed his hand on the back of a nearby chair and squeezed. The wooden chair back crumbled like tofu.

Night Owl’s voice was icy. "If you ever dare to bother my boss’s... benefactor again, I guarantee your head will end up just like this chair."

After saying his piece, Night Owl turned and left.

Saul Reynolds offered a faux apology. "My apologies. Our Lord Hawke is just a deeply loyal man. Please excuse his behavior."

After these polite words, Saul Reynolds also left.

As they were getting out of the elevator, they happened to see Erik Irvine arriving with so n.

Saul Reynolds couldn’t help but narrow his eyes at the sight.

"General Manager Reynolds," Erik Irvine greeted him politely. "Visiting the hospital so late?"

"Yes, visiting a friend," Saul Reynolds said. "Is Secretary Irvine here to visit a friend as well?"

"I am," Erik Irvine replied. "General Manager Reynolds, I have so business to attend to, so I’ll be on my way."

"Take care."

Back in the hospital room, Ivan Willow was yelling, "Dad, I’m not going to apologize to that woman! She kicked so hard I was bleeding, and I have to apologize to her? Am I crazy? What about my reputation as Master Willow?"

Susan Lancaster added, "This Master Innis is too aggressive! To challenge our Willow Family over so floozy... What? Do they think the Willow Family is weak and can be pushed around?"

Chairman Willow retorted, "Such a simplistic woman’s view. Have you no idea how much montum Innis has right now? Do you really think I’m afraid of so little designer? It’s the power behind her that’s formidable!"

"So what? The Willow Family is no pushover! In any case, I refuse to let our son apologize! Apologizing to so disreputable woman... our family cannot afford such a humiliation!"

"We still have to give Master Innis so face. Tomorrow, I’ll have my assistant pay a visit." Just as Chairman Willow finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.

"Who is it now? Coming so late, can’t we get a mont of peace?" Susan Lancaster complained as she walked over and opened the door. "Secretary Irvine?"

Susan Lancaster was very surprised. As a prominent socialite in Seabourne, she was very familiar with Erik Irvine’s face.

"It’s ," Erik Irvine smiled.

Chairman Willow also walked over, looking quite surprised to see him. "Secretary Irvine, why have you co so late?"

"I’m here on behalf of my CEO," Erik Irvine said with a pleasant smile. "My CEO heard that your esteed son took a liking to his wife and tried to take her by force. He sent to ask if the Willow Family thinks the Lockwood Family is on the verge of collapse, that you’d dare to be so audacious?"
