"What silly things are you saying?"

Eliza Sutton was shocked the mont she opened her mouth to speak.

Her throat was as hoarse as sandpaper scraping against glass, and her lips were so dry they had cracked and started to bleed.

"Mama, I’ll get you so water." Emtt Lockwood hopped off the bed, imdiately poured a glass of warm water, and held it to Eliza Sutton’s lips.

He was just a small child, yet he was surprisingly adept at taking care of people. His little face, still full of baby fat, was especially adorable.

Eliza Sutton thought of Theo again, and of the dream she’d had earlier. Her eyes began to burn uncontrollably, as if sothing were welling up from deep within.

’My children.’

’Leo.’

’Theo.’

"Mama, what’s wrong?" Emtt Lockwood looked at Eliza Sutton with concern.

Eliza Sutton blinked away her tears and forced a smile. "My throat hurts."

Emtt Lockwood, very worried, brought another glass of water. "Then you should drink more water, Mama."

"Okay," Eliza Sutton agreed, drinking the water from the glass Emtt was holding.

Emtt Lockwood didn’t stay long, as he still had his own howork to do.

"Mama, I’ll co see you again tomorrow."

"Okay."

After seeing Emtt Lockwood off, Eliza Sutton turned her head and saw that Shane Lockwood was still in the hospital room, seemingly with no intention of leaving.

She tried to hold her tongue but couldn’t. "President Lockwood, thank you for coming to see . If you have work, you should go take care of it."

’Having him just stand watch by my side is so awkward.’

"I’ve already assigned my work to Secretary Irvine. I can handle the rest online."

"Wouldn’t that be inconvenient?"

"It’s not inconvenient at all." Shane Lockwood looked at Eliza Sutton and said suddenly, "Eliza Sutton, you don’t want here. Are you trying to get rid of ?"

"No, not at all."

"If that’s not it, then close your mouth, close your eyes, and go to sleep."

"..."

Eliza Sutton closed her eyes.

Before long, she heard the sound of Shane Lockwood maneuvering his wheelchair and leaving.

Eliza Sutton waited a mont, then opened her eyes and pushed herself up with her arms.

But she had misjudged her own physical condition. Her feet felt like jelly the mont they touched the floor, and her body pitched forward uncontrollably.

Just as Eliza Sutton thought she was about to fall flat on her face, an arm suddenly grabbed her. A strong force pulled her into a warm embrace.

Shane Lockwood’s voice, laced with displeasure, ca from above her head. "What? Did you rush to leave just so you could prostrate yourself on the floor?"

"..."

Shane Lockwood continued, "How much longer are you going to stay in my arms? Don’t tell you’re trying to get to hold you this way?"

Shane Lockwood looked at Eliza Sutton suspiciously.

"..." Fighting the urge to roll her eyes, Eliza Sutton said with great sincerity, "You’re overthinking it. And if you don’t want in your arms, you could just let go."

Shane Lockwood placed Eliza Sutton back on the bed. "Close your eyes and rest."

Eliza Sutton didn’t say anything, rely looking at Shane Lockwood with an expression of strained patience.

"What? You want to hold you again?" Shane Lockwood asked, his face full of suspicion.

Eliza Sutton ignored him and got out from the other side of the bed.

Shane Lockwood shot out an arm and grabbed Eliza Sutton’s wrist. "Where on earth do you think you’re going? You disappeared for two days without a word. Are you trying to do it again? Or are you trying to flee to escape justice?"

Shane Lockwood’s eyes were filled with suspicion.

A vein throbbed on Eliza Sutton’s forehead. At the end of her rope, she snapped, "Let go. I’m going to the bathroom! I need to use the toilet!"

Shane Lockwood’s expression froze. He let go of her hand.

「In the bathroom.」

Sitting on the toilet, Eliza Sutton thought about her trip to Westbank, and the tears she could no longer hold back began to fall.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

It was a call from Woody.

"Isla, are you okay?"

"I’m fine. How could I not be, when my enemies are still alive and well?"

Eliza Sutton’s tone was flat, but her eyes held a bone-deep hatred.

"Is Cedric Sutton back?"

"He is. He got back two days ago. He’s the one behind the recent trending topics that have been causing such a stir."

Eliza Sutton’s expression was icy. "My dear brother has always been afraid I won’t die a thorough enough death. Since he’s being so enthusiastic, you can help him add more fuel to the fire. Tell Saul Reynolds that by tomorrow, I want everyone to know that Eliza Sutton plagiarized Innis’s design."

When Eliza Sutton ca out of the bathroom, a light al of congee and side dishes was already set on the table.

Shane Lockwood glanced at Eliza Sutton and said, "Co over and eat sothing."

Eliza Sutton didn’t refuse. She sat down at the table, looked at the food suitable for a patient, and said softly, "Thank you."

"Don’t ntion it. I just don’t want Emtt crying to , asking for his mama."

Eliza Sutton froze. "Emtt cried?"

"Yes. When he saw you collapse, he cried and said that if you couldn’t be saved, he would go with you." Recalling his son’s foolishness, Shane Lockwood sounded utterly disgusted. "So stupid."

Shane Lockwood was thoroughly disgusted with Emtt Lockwood.

But hearing this, Eliza Sutton only felt a pang in her heart.

Her life had been unfortunate, yet also fortunate. The fortunate part was this: after five years in prison, after seeing just how terrifying people could be, she could still encounter such sincere affection.

"He’s not stupid. Emtt is adorable."

"Adorable? Are you sure?"

"Of course. Emtt is the best boy."

"If Emtt Lockwood is the best boy, and he calls you ’Mama,’ then you shouldn’t let him down. And letting yourself get into this state is the stupidest way to do that."

Eliza Sutton put down her chopsticks, looked up at Shane Lockwood, and sighed. "Mr. Lockwood, showing concern for soone with a sharp tongue is an extrely foolish thod."

"Hah? Concerned? Eliza Sutton, are you getting a little too full of yourself?" Shane Lockwood shot her a sideways glance. "I’m worried that there’ll be no one to clean up the ss you’ve left behind. This business with plagiarizing Innis’s work isn’t over yet."

Looking at Shane Lockwood, Eliza Sutton couldn’t help but shake her head.

’I’m suddenly realizing that the gravely ill Shane Lockwood, the one who could only lie in bed at the rcy of others, was far cuter.’

Seeing that Eliza Sutton was silent, Shane Lockwood asked again, "How exactly do you plan to resolve this plagiarism issue?"

Eliza Sutton said, "The press conference is tomorrow. There will be a solution by then. If it really cos to it, you can just throw under the bus."

Shane Lockwood’s expression darkened. "Eliza Sutton, in your eyes, am I really the kind of man who would sacrifice a woman to solve a problem?"

Sowhat irritated, Shane Lockwood wheeled himself away.

Eliza Sutton was completely bewildered. ’Why did he suddenly get angry for no reason?’

’A man’s heart is a needle at the bottom of the ocean.’

Eliza Sutton finished the millet congee in front of her, took out her phone, and opened Weibo.

Among the top ten trending topics on Weibo, the news about her plagiarizing Innis’s work firmly occupied the top five spots. It had even pushed the news of The Diva and the Heavenly King’s divorce down to sixth place.

Eliza Sutton opened the comnt section, which was flooded with an endless stream of insults.

The one jumping around the most, slinging the filthiest insults, was Alia Sutton.

Eliza Sutton’s face turned cold.

’Since Alia Sutton clearly hasn’t learned her lesson, it’s up to , as her older sister, to teach her a new one!’
