He dialed the phone, but the other end also reminded him that the number was switched off.

“Are you her family?” the nurse asked.
“I need to see for myself to confirm if it’s her.”

At once, Gu Zhichuan recognized the person lying there as Feng Yangyang.
“I’m her friend. Can you tell why she’s in the hospital?” he inquired.
“This patient was brought in by a driver. She was found unconscious in so bushes, with injuries indicating she had been assaulted.”
The nurse explained, “However, the external injuries, while significant, aren’t the main concern. The critical issue is that she has had a heart transplant, and her condition is rather precarious. She’s currently in a coma, possibly due to head trauma.”
“I understand,” Gu Zhichuan replied.
“Do you have any contact information for the patient’s family?” the nurse asked. “The patient’s expenses need to be settled by her relatives.”
“I’ll handle it.”
Gu Zhichuan settled all of Feng Yangyang’s hospital expenses and then sought out the attending physician to get more details about her condition.
By the ti Lin Gantang learned about her supposed “pregnancy”, the rumors had been circulating for an entire day.

Lin Gantang wondered, “What else did you expect?”
Ye Qiuqiu replied with a sighing dog emoji, “I was hoping for a story where, after escaping your wedding, you got drunk, had a one-night stand with Wen Yanqing, and then discovered an unexpected pregnancy.”
Lin Gantang was rendered speechless. “I can recomnd so novels for you.”
Ye Qiuqiu responded, “Never mind, I won’t bother. You’ve let down. Besides, 1 think Wen Yanqing would have enjoyed that story.”
Lin Gantang teased her, “1 did manage to secure an extra gift from my brother’s wedding. I ntioned wanting to send it to you.”
“An extra gift? Is it candy or chocolate? If you don’t send it, I’m too lazy to go downstairs to get it,” Ye Qiuqiu said nonchalantly.
Lin Gantang chuckled. “It’s haute couture perfu and a wristwatch, D-brand formal lipstick, and handmade chocolates. It’s a sha you don’t want them.” “Friends! I didn’t know what was good for just now! I’d be willing to run a kiloter with weights, let alone go downstairs to get it!”
Lin Gantang found her response amusing. “Alright, I’ve already sent it your way. It should arrive tomorrow. Please make sure to check and accept it.”

Even Ye Qiuqiu was aware of the “pregnancy” rumor. It seed that soone had been deliberately fanning the flas. However, baseless claims like these couldn’t hold water.
