Chapter 1041: Chapter 1041: Give It a Try

Lin Gantang squatted down to pet Ximi’s head, and Ximi rubbed back and forth within her palm.

The light beside her was suddenly blocked, and Lin Gantang looked up to see soone she hadn’t seen in a long ti.

She stood up.

Gu Zhichuan glanced at Suisui in the stroller and smiled, “She looks like your husband.”

“Mm.” Lin Gantang responded.

“I was just passing by and ca in for a look, I won’t bother you.”

Like greeting an old acquaintance, Gu Zhichuan was very asured in his approach.

Sensing his calm deanor, Lin Gantang returned his smile.

Before going up to the second floor, Gu Zhichuan looked at Suisui once more.

An undeniably cute baby—that’s always endearing. When Suisui gave Gu Zhichuan an innocent smile, he was briefly dazed, then looked at Lin Gantang.

Lin Gantang happened to be looking at the child, not eting his gaze. She picked Suisui up, and Suisui lay on her shoulder watching Gu Zhichuan.

A baby’s smile is pure and healing, and at that mont, Gu Zhichuan thought of nothing else and smiled along with her.

Suisui’s bright obsidian eyes, thick curly lashes, and shallow dimples on her left cheek—all resembled her father.

“Let’s go, accompany Mum to buy so milk tea first.”

When Lin Gantang walked out the door, Gu Zhichuan was finally able to gaze at her freely.

Her slender figure exuded confidence and vitality, poised yet full of strength.

She’s doing very well.

Gu Zhichuan retracted his gaze.

He strolled up to the second floor and saw Xing You leaning against the stair railing.

Seeing Gu Zhichuan frown, Xing You shrugged, “I was here first, I’m not so stalker following you secretly.”

“Miss Xing, you’ve misunderstood; I didn’t think that,” Gu Zhichuan said. He wanted to smoke, took out his cigarette pack but rembered it’s a smoke-free bookstore, and put it back in his pocket.

“Didn’t you greet Gantang?” Gu Zhichuan asked.

“Nah, she and I aren’t friends,” Xing You said frankly. “I ca for the internet-famous cat, not her.”

Gu Zhichuan nodded, never asking much about her and Lin Gantang.

Xing You followed his footsteps inside.

Gu Zhichuan helplessly stopped, “Miss Xing, you have great qualities, but we’re not suitable; I’ve said this before.”

He earnestly told her again, “Thanks for your affection, Miss Xing, but there’s soone I can’t get over, so I can’t waste your ti.”

Xing You knew he was referring to Lin Gantang.

But Lin Gantang has already married and had children, living a life in harmony with Wen Yanqing. What concern is it of hers?

The Gu family will eventually need a daughter-in-law, so why not her?

She didn’t want to keep being valued by her father in the Xing family. She wanted the benefits this marriage could bring. Since emotions are set aside, why not?

Despite Gu Zhichuan’s previous mishandling of emotional affairs, his business acun is undeniable.

He knows how to make money.

Xing You kept up with him, “Let’s give it a try, or how will we know.”

Gu Zhichuan said, “It’s no use.”

“Let try,” Xing You insisted stubbornly.

Gu Zhichuan didn’t respond to her anymore, browsing through bookshelves for what he wanted.

Lin Gantang leisurely drank her milk tea, while Suisui looked around curiously at the surrounding scenery.

The breeze played with her hair, and the pearl necklace reflected a soft glow.

Lin Gantang tucked her hair back, intentionally wafting the sweet milk tea aroma to Suisui.

“You can’t have any,” she said with a mischievous smile.

“Ah,” Suisui waved her hands, kicking her little feet.

Lin Gantang giggled.

Lin Gantang was relishing the peaceful monts when her phone rang urgently from her bag.

As she answered, Le Yu’s howling voice blasted into her eardrum, “Tang! Tang! What do we do, what do we do?!”

Lin Gantang covered her ear, holding the phone away.

What a troubleso thing, day in and day out.
