Capítulo 975: Chapter 974: Much More Than Just a Little

“Mianmian, hang in there. Once we get a taxi to the port, it’ll be cooler.” Fang Zhiyuan, having stayed in Xiangcheng for over a year, had sowhat adapted to the weather here.

But Jiang Mianmian and Yu Cheng, having lived inland all their lives, would definitely find it hard to adjust suddenly.

“Okay, then let’s go quickly, Uncle Fang.” Feeling uncomfortable from the sun, Jiang Mianmian quickly said.

Shencheng City had been designated a special economic zone for several years by now. Not only was trade liberalized, but even taxis had beco common.

After leaving the airport, Fang Zhiyuan hailed a taxi effortlessly and took the three of them to the port.

Before boarding the ship, Fang Zhiyuan took Jiang Mianmian and the others to a major hotel, ntioned it to the front desk, and paid according to the public telephone rate to call the Jiang Family.

When the call went through, the old lady and Jiang Changhai were both at ho.

The old lady’s visits weren’t easy, so Jiang Changhai asked her to stay a few more days, take her out to buy so things, and send her back in a few days. In the past, Zhang Guihua, being concerned about household chores, definitely wouldn’t have agreed.

But now, worried about Jiang Mianmian, she thought of waiting until the child called ho to report her safety, knowing she was fine, then return to the village.

Since Jiang Mianmian and Yu Cheng left, the three of them had been too distracted to do anything at ho.

In the end, they simply all sat on the sofa watching TV, though they weren’t really focused on the show. Their minds were entirely waiting for Jiang Mianmian’s call.

The phone had just started ringing when Jiang Changhai, who was closest to it, picked it up.

“Hello, daughter?” Jiang Changhai called out directly.

“Brother Jiang, it’s , Zhiyuan. Don’t worry, I’ve already picked up Mianmian and Yu Cheng. They’re right next to .” Fang Zhiyuan, seeing them answer the phone so quickly, knew he was anxious about the kids, so he imdiately reassured him.

“Oh, Zhiyuan, that’s great, it’s good you picked them up. I’m relieved.” Jiang Changhai let out a breath of relief and said with a smile.

Next to him, Su Wanyu and the old lady, who’d been listening intently, also breathed a sigh of relief and sat back on the sofa.

“Here, Mianmian, say a few words to your dad.” Fang Zhiyuan kindly handed the phone over.

“Hi, Dad, I’ve t up with Uncle Fang. You don’t need to worry. We’re now at a hotel by the port, and we’ll soon take a ship to Xiangcheng. If there’s anything, just leave a ssage on the pager.” Jiang Mianmian said happily.

“Alright, got it. You and Yu Cheng have fun in Xiangcheng, and listen to your Uncle Fang.” Jiang Changhai instructed.

“I’ll be good, Dad, don’t worry. I’m the best.” Jiang Mianmian said with a cheeky grin.

Since Fang Zhiyuan had already bought the ship tickets in advance, seeing the boarding ti approaching, Jiang Mianmian didn’t chat much longer, said a few words, and hung up the phone.

The reason Fang Zhiyuan called the Jiang Family in Shencheng City to report their safety was because Xiangcheng hadn’t returned at the ti, so they couldn’t call from there.

After hanging up, the group headed straight for the port.

Once they arrived in Shencheng City, they were very close to Xiangcheng. They took the ship for just over an hour and arrived in Xiangcheng.

As soon as Jiang Mianmian got off the ship, she could clearly feel the difference here.

In this era, Xiangcheng’s developnt was indeed much faster than inland.

Everywhere she looked, there were modern skyscrapers, private cars coming and going on the roads, and an abundance of shops lined the streets.
