Su Wanyu listened and knew it must have been the high schools that kept calling their house, which is why Yu Cheng couldn’t get through.
She smiled and explained, "Everything’s fine at ho, nothing special. The reason you couldn’t get through earlier might be because the line was busy. As for why it was busy, let Mianmian tell you directly."
Seeing her daughter eager to take the call beside her, Su Wanyu handed the receiver to her daughter after saying that.
"Hello, Brother Yu, I have a super big piece of good news to tell you," Jiang Mianmian said excitedly.
"What good news? Did you do well in the entrance exam?" Yu Cheng knew today was the date the entrance exam results ca out, so he called as soon as he got ho to ask.
"Yes, Brother Yu, you’re so smart. That’s exactly it! I scored full marks in the entrance exam this ti. How about that? Am I aweso?" Jiang Mianmian proudly shared the good news with Yu Cheng.
"That’s impressive! Full marks?" Yu Cheng was surprised when he heard it.
"Of course, it’s all the result of my hard work. Earlier, you couldn’t get through because all the high schools in the city were calling my ho, inviting to attend their schools. Sigh, what can I say, I’m just too popular," Jiang Mianmian said in a ’troubled’ tone, subtly showing off.
"Little Lamb, you really are quite popular. Since you’ve done so well this ti, Brother Yu has a reward for you when you co to the Capital City," Yu Cheng couldn’t help but laugh at her ’smug’ tone.
"A reward? Great, Brother Yu. I’ll be coming in a few days, so you better prepare thoroughly," Jiang Mianmian, although curious about the reward Yu Cheng ntioned, held back from asking more, deciding to let it remain a surprise since she’d know in a couple of days.
"Yes, no worries, it’s ready, just let know when you co and I’ll arrange your flight," Yu Cheng assured her.
"Okay, got it, Brother Yu," Jiang Mianmian replied brightly.
Yu Cheng made this call from the Grandpa’s house because he knew his grandpa definitely cared about Little Lamb’s results too.
While he was calling, Grandpa Yu was sitting beside him. Hearing Jiang Mianmian scored full marks, he couldn’t help but show a satisfied smile.
"Little Lamb, Grandpa knows you did so well and he’s very happy. He wants to say a few words to you," Yu Cheng said before handing the phone to Grandpa Yu.
"Hello, Mianmian," Yu Cheng’s kind voice ca through.
"Hello, Grandpa Yu, rest assured, Mianmian hasn’t let you down. I scored full marks in the entrance exam this ti, and I can choose any high school in the city," Jiang Mianmian said happily.
"Hmm, not bad, Mianmian. Grandpa Yu always knew you’re destined for great things. Keep working hard, and aim for that goal in the future college entrance exams, you’ll also be able to pick any university in the Capital City," Grandpa Yu encouraged.
"Sure, Grandpa Yu, I will work hard towards this goal," Jiang Mianmian promised cheerfully.
After saying a few words, Grandpa Yu handed the phone back to Yu Cheng.
They chatted for a while until it was ti for dinner on Yu Cheng’s side, and then they hung up.
Jiang Changhai looked at his daughter, smiling brightly, and couldn’t help but say sourly, "Look at how happy you are, just because you’re talking to your Brother Yu?"
"Haha, Dad, Brother Yu said I did well this ti and wants to reward ," Jiang Mianmian said cheerfully, getting close to her dad.
