"Really? Little Lamb, you’re that amazing?" Even though Yu Cheng knew Jiang Mianmian wasn’t one to speak without thinking, he still found it a little hard to believe.
After all, even the country hadn’t been able to produce a color TV yet.
"Of course it’s true, so Brother Yu, I need these materials now, can you help buy them?" After Jiang Mianmian finished speaking, she listed a few of the harder-to-find items on her list to Yu Cheng.
After hearing what Jiang Mianmian needed, Yu Cheng thought for a mont, "No problem, Little Lamb, I can get all these items for you. Just wait for my good news."
"That’s great, Brother Yu, I knew you were the best! No matter what it is, you always handle it with ease," Jiang Mianmian praised happily.
Yu Cheng enjoyed the admiration she showed him, his eyes glowing warmly, "Alright, enough with the praise, or I’ll start floating away."
Jiang Mianmian said seriously, "Brother Yu would never float away! By the way, Brother Yu, I have another favor to ask. Could you bring so information on how to make color TVs? Although I understand so of the principles, there are still so critical areas I’m not clear about."
Although she had been able to make a color TV independently, all of it was done in the system, and her parents and Yu Cheng were unaware of this process. Hence, she needed so relevant materials to cover her tracks, as she couldn’t possibly fabricate a color TV out of thin air.
"That’s all? Sure, no problem. I’ll bring the materials and information to you together," Yu Cheng agreed briskly.
"That’s wonderful, Brother Yu, thank you! If there’s ever anything I can help you with in the future, I’ll definitely do my best!" Jiang Mianmian thanked him sincerely.
Yu Cheng smiled, "Sure."
Jiang Mianmian then shared so amusing stories from school with Yu Cheng, including a bet she had made with Zhong Yuan. Finally, noticing it was getting late, she hung up and headed ho.
On her way ho, Jiang Mianmian saw a street vendor selling roasted sweet potatoes. She ran over and bought three, planning to share them with her parents.
Five days after Jiang Mianmian and Yu Cheng’s phone call, Yu Cheng showed up at the Jiang family’s front door, carrying two large suitcases with a big smile on his face.
Upon hearing the knock, Su Wanyu ca out and was surprised to see Yu Cheng, "Yu Cheng!"
"Aunt Wan," Yu Cheng greeted warmly.
"Yu Cheng, what brings you here? You should have told us in advance, so Mianmian and I could have picked you up from the train station. Co in, co in. Why are you wearing so little? Aren’t you cold?"
After speaking, Su Wanyu reached out to take the suitcases from his hands. She tugged but couldn’t move them, and asked in surprise, "Yu Cheng, what’s in these suitcases? Why are they so heavy?"
"Aunt Wan, these are things I’ve brought for Mianmian, I’ll carry them myself," Yu Cheng said as he lifted both suitcases and brought them inside.
Jiang Mianmian was inside the house doing winter vacation howork with Wang Li and Li Lan. She had been busy researching the television and hadn’t started her howork until now.
Li Lan and Wang Li had also just started doing their howork at the Jiang family’s the day before. After all, the children had studied hard all sester, and at the beginning of their winter break, it was good to let them have so fun and relax.
Because all the windows and doors in the Jiang family’s house were tightly closed during winter, Jiang Mianmian, sitting inside, didn’t hear Su Wanyu and Yu Cheng talking.
