Then, Elder Yu changed the subject, "Mianmian, it’s great that you’re interested in making clothes, but rember not to put the cart before the horse. At your age, the most important thing is still to attend school and study, you know? Don’t let your interests delay your education."
"Mhm, I understand, Grandpa Yu. Don’t worry, once school starts again, I will focus on my studies." Jiang Mianmian nodded obediently in agreent.
Elder Yu stayed in the room for a while and then went out. After dinner that evening, as he sat beside the sofa wearing his reading glasses and looking at the day’s newspaper, the telephone next to the sofa happened to ring at that mont.
"Hello, who may I ask is calling?" Elder Yu asked indifferently.
"Dad, it’s , Huaxun," Yue Huaxun’s voice ca through.
"Oh, Huaxun, what’s the matter?"
"Dad, Mianmian has been in the Capital City for quite so ti now and hasn’t been over for a al. I was thinking that’s not very proper of us. I’ll have Yanyu prepare sothing tomorrow, so you bring the two kids over for a simple al. It would also be a good opportunity to celebrate Ruixuan’s first place in the English competition."
After all, Jiang Mianmian was nothing less than Yu Cheng’s lifesaver. As parents, they couldn’t just let her visit the Capital City without showing so kind of appreciation.
"Hmm, alright, we’ll be there tomorrow."
After hanging up the phone, Elder Yu told the two children about it. Although Yu Cheng didn’t want to see Zhou Yanyu and her son, he wouldn’t defy his grandfather over such a trivial matter.
Jiang Mianmian, on the other hand, was quite excited, "I still don’t know what Brother Yu’s ho looks like. This is a good chance to see it."
"Alright, then we’ll go over and have a look tomorrow." Elder Yu was happy to see Jiang Mianmian being so sensible.
The next afternoon, after finishing up with work, Elder Yu went ho and took Yu Cheng and Jiang Mianmian to Yu Huaxun’s house.
Yu Huaxun’s ho was not far from the military district’s compound. They lived in a traditional tube-shaped building, but the apartnt was quite spacious and well decorated on the inside.
"Dad, you’re here," Yu Huaxun greeted them at the door, having spotted the car parking downstairs from his window and had been waiting at the doorway.
"Dad."
"Hello, Uncle," Yu Cheng and Jiang Mianmian greeted.
"Ah, good, good, co inside." Yu Huaxun, walking behind Elder Yu and leading the way, while Yu Ruixuan trailed behind, his eyes unfriendly as he watched Jiang Mianmian and Yu Cheng.
As usual, Yu Cheng ignored him as if he were thin air, "Little Lamb, didn’t you want to see my room? Co on, I’ll take you to see it."
"Okay."
Following Yu Cheng, Jiang Mianmian noticed that his room was quite large, well-lit, and had a good orientation.
Jiang Mianmian’s previous image of Yu Cheng being a pitiful little thing oppressed by his stepmother imdiately shattered. Hmm, it seems like Brother Yu wasn’t living too bad after all.
The first thing Jiang Mianmian saw was the shelf full of comic books Yu Cheng had ntioned before, along with soccer and basketballs, and various fitness equipnt. There was also a punching bag and boxing gloves in the room.
Although there were many things in the room, it was very neat and clean, with a faint scent of freshness, not at all ssy like other boys’ rooms.
On Yu Cheng’s desk, there were several Transforrs, remote control cars, Lego models, and even action figures of Superman and Iron Man.
Jiang Mianmian was shocked; she hadn’t expected that Yu Cheng would have so many high-end toys and collectible action figures at this ti.
She had been sowhat of an action figure enthusiast in her past life, and she rembered that these particular Iron Man and Superman figures were out of production!
Thus, Jiang Mianmian was instantly envious, "Wow, Brother Yu, you’re so lucky to have all these models. I’m really jealous of you."
