Chapter 403: Chapter 403: You Are Not Good Enough

Yu Cheng looked at Wang Li with an inscrutable expression but did not refuse.

With a change of players, Yu Cheng’s onslaught was even fiercer than before, sending Wang Li down in defeat faster than Jiang Mianmian had been.

Jiang Mianmian crossed her arms, watched Wang Li, and laughed maliciously with her rosy lips pursed: “Wang Li, you’re not doing great either, losing even faster than . Who taught you how to play Go?”

Jiang Mianmian threw back the sa taunt Wang Li had hurled at her earlier, but since everything she said was true, he couldn’t even rebut it.

“I’m not convinced, let’s play another round,” Wang Li insisted strongly,

Yu Cheng didn’t say a word, slowly picking up his pieces.

In the second ga, Wang Li was rcilessly crushed by Yu Cheng without any surprises. He kept asking for more gas, only to be crushed again and again until his face turned pale, which Jiang Mianmian found astonishing.

After watching so many gas between them, Jiang Mianmian finally realized how easy Yu Cheng had been on her previously.

What Jiang Mianmian didn’t know was that Yu Cheng was thrashing Wang Li so badly entirely to stand up for her.

Wang Li had made the mistake of saying that Jiang Mianmian played Go terribly at the start, and Yu Cheng was notoriously protective. Otherwise, he wouldn’t waste his ti just to humor a child.

After being defeated so many tis, Wang Li would frantically scratch his head in desperation every ti he ran out of moves, but he still refused to give up, showing more determination with each defeat.

After finishing another ga, Yu Cheng placed the pieces back into the box and said indifferently, “You’re too weak. I’m not playing anymore.”

“Co on, one more ga. I figured out what I did wrong in the last ga,” Wang Li negotiated.

“No more,” Yu Cheng was resolute.

“Bro, Big Brother Yu, won’t it work if I call you bro?”

Wang Li was really pulling out all the stops to get Yu Cheng to play with him, knowing that usually, it was others who called him “big brother.” He had never begged so hard before.

“No more,” Yu Cheng remained unmoved.

Wang Li’s eyes swiveled before he pulled out his treasured comic books and dangled them in front of Yu Cheng, saying, “Big Brother Yu, I’ll trade my favorite comic books if you play not just one, but three more rounds with . I’ll let you borrow them.”

Jiang Mianmian watched Wang Li clutch his comic books, his face full of reluctance, and couldn’t help laughing out loud. Such a child.

Yu Cheng gave the comics a fleeting look and said lightly, “I have a cabinet full of those comics at ho.”

“A full cabinet? How many is that?” Wang Li imdiately envied Yu Cheng.

Jiang Mianmian also felt envious upon hearing this. Ah, there was a ti when she herself was a little heiress who could buy anything. Well, a true hero doesn’t dwell on past glory; she hoped to work hard to regain her previous lifestyle before she grew up.

Yu Cheng noticed Jiang Mianmian’s expression and asked with a smile, “What’s up? Little Lamb, you like comic books too?”

Jiang Mianmian shook her head vigorously: “No, Brother Yu, I don’t like them.”

Comic books were for kids, and she only liked romance novels. Unfortunately, in this era, romance novels were not yet popular. Even if they were, her mother probably wouldn’t let her read them.

Although Wang Li was initially subdued by Yu Cheng’s comnt, he quickly recovered, straightened his back, and said proudly, “Big Brother Yu, I also have ‘Drunken Hero Beggar Su,’ ‘Huo Yuanjia,’ ‘Monkey King’ – you haven’t read those, have you?”
