Chapter 267: Chapter 267 Failed to Pass Chapter 267: Chapter 267 Failed to Pass Being chastised by his usually out-of-tune older brother, Jiang Changtao was quite embarrassed. His face turned red with the effort of restraining himself, but after all, an elder brother is like a father.

In the end, he could only turn his head away in anger, no longer paying any attention to him.

Jiang Changhai didn’t indulge Jiang Changtao’s temper tantrum either. He escorted him to the transport factory’s recruitnt office door, “Alright, this is it. Go inside. I need to go report for duty.”

Having said that, Jiang Changhai turned and left, not concerned with the hesitant expression on the other person’s face.

Standing at the door, Jiang Changtao saw several well-dressed city folk also waiting for an interview.

The courage he had mustered along the way instantly dissipated.

“How could a country bumpkin like possibly compete with city people?” he thought.

But then, thinking of Jiang Changhai’s success, a flicker of courage re-ignited, and with that belief, he barely managed not to give up halfway.

After parting with Jiang Changtao, Jiang Changhai asked around until he reached the logistics departnt, stated his purpose, and a young girl there led him to Director Han’s office.

“Director, this is Jiang Changhai, the one the factory manager ntioned yesterday. He’s here to report to you,” said the girl as she pushed open the door and briefly introduced Jiang Changhai.

When Director Han heard this, he knew that he was the temporary worker who got the job through the factory manager’s connections.

He smiled and nodded, indicating a stool in front with a wave of his hand, “Xiao Jiang, right? I know. Co sit.”

“Thank you, Director. Your office is quite impressive,” Jiang Changhai comnted as he looked around the room and sat down.

“Ha ha, impressive? All our factory offices are like this,” Director Han said modestly.

After asking a few simple questions, and thanks to Jiang Changhai’s sweet-talking skills, it wasn’t long before he had the director laughing continuously.

Knowing Jiang Changhai was the factory manager’s referral and observing his cleverness in speech and action, Director Han grew even fonder of him.

“Xiao Jiang, your timing is perfect. I have a job that’s just right for you. It’s a record-keeper position in our factory. No manual labor is required; you just need to be sharp,” Director Han said.

“Thank you, Director. I will definitely work hard and not let down your training,” Jiang Changhai replied, pleased.

The job Director Han arranged for him was perfect.

He had never worked the fields back ho, so his hands truly lacked strength.

If Director Han had assigned him a physically demanding job, he wasn’t sure he could have persevered.

Director Han assigned another record keeper to be Jiang Changhai’s ntor to teach him what he needed to do daily.

While following his ntor around the yard recording items on trucks, he saw Jiang Changtao erge with a face full of embarrassnt, hurrying away as if a dog was chasing him.

It was clear that he had not passed.

Jiang Changhai was not surprised by this.

Getting into the transport factory wasn’t easy. If it wasn’t for Yu Cheng’s advance notice, he wouldn’t have gotten in, even with his ability to talk and handle matters—without a formal education.

Jiang Changhai spent the morning learning from the old ntor and had a basic understanding of what his future duties would be when it was ti for lunch.

“Alright, Xiao Jiang, it’s lunchti. You go eat. I won’t join you; after I get my al, I need to go back to the dormitory to eat with my family,” said Jiang Changhai’s ntor, patting him on the shoulder.

“Sure thing, ntor. I’ll head over there now,” Jiang Changhai replied. When it ca to eating, he was always the most enthusiastic.

After he got his al and found a place to sit, he was about to eat when he heard so colleagues nearby discussing the day’s recruitnt.
