Chapter 183: Chapter 183: Only Recognize Jiang Family mbers

Yu Cheng paused for two seconds before speaking in an even tone, “The delay has been too long, the doctors in the Capital City are helpless. They can only ease Uncle’s pain.”

“Easing the pain is good. Don’t worry too much. Let Uncle Jiang take good care of himself. You never know, in another ten or eight years, with dical advancents, Uncle’s leg might be cured,” Jiang Mianmian consoled him.

She ca from the new century and knew that many diseases that currently baffled doctors could gradually be overco in the new era.

Yu Cheng humd softly in response.

Sensing the low tone in his voice, Jiang Mianmian hesitated for a mont then quickly added, “Actually, I kind of miss you.”

Her soft words made the corners of Yu Cheng’s tightly pursed lips curl upward, but before he could speak, Jiang Mianmian quickly changed the subject, “Brother Yu, my mom and I went to the Supply and Marketing Cooperative last ti and bought so stuff to make cotton clothes. Do you still want it? If you do, my mom will make it and mail it to you.”

Knowing Little Lamb was shy, Yu Cheng didn’t expose her little trick, “No need, I won’t wear it here.”

He never wore cotton-padded clothes in the Capital City because they were bulky and unattractive.

“Oh, then I’ll ask my mom to make it for my dad.”

Jiang Mianmian had not realized that Yu Cheng, despite his young age, already bore the burden of being a public figure; she simply thought he disdained the rustic, shapeless, and dusty ho-made cotton clothes, which she also found ugly.

At that mont, Yu Cheng asked, “Little Lamb, is Uncle Jiang near you?”

The money and tickets Cheng An had sent should have arrived by now.

“He is.”

“Then pass the phone to Uncle Jiang, I have so matters to discuss with him.”

“Okay.” Jiang Mianmian handed the receiver to Jiang Changhai, “Dad, Brother Yu needs to talk to you about sothing.”

Having listened to the whole conversation, Jiang Changhai took the receiver with a hearty voice, “Buddy Yu, what’s up? Is there anything you need Uncle Jiang’s help with?”

Yu Cheng didn’t beat around the bush, “Yes. Uncle Jiang, a friend of mine sent so money and tickets a while ago, which should have arrived by now. You and Mianmian should go to the post office later and pick them up.”

“I can’t take your money anymore. The Jiang family has already given quite enough in thanks. I’ll mail the money and tickets back to you later,” Jiang Changhai thought Yu Cheng was still offering him money, so he refused righteously.

He admitted that he could be shaless, but he was not greedy.

Hearing Jiang Changhai’s imdiate refusal, Yu Cheng’s impression of him improved even further, and he beca even more certain about his decision to entrust his Uncle to Jiang Changhai’s care.

Therefore, he spoke with gravity, “Uncle Jiang, please let finish. My uncle won’t be able to stay in the Capital City for much longer. In a few days, he will have to go back to Central China Farm. Since I am far away in the Capital City, I’d like to ask you to help look after him. Buy so grains and necessities every week and send them to the farm to improve his living conditions.”

He knew only the Jiang family mbers there, and he trusted them completely.

“Alright, I’ve got it covered. Just leave your Uncle to with complete peace of mind!” Jiang Changhai agreed without hesitation.

There were three reasons why Jiang Changhai agreed so readily.

For one, he genuinely liked Yu Cheng, a child born into wealth yet not spoiled, decisive and organized in his speech and actions.

Secondly, during this period, he had indeed accepted quite a bit of money from them. Now, doing a little favor in return was simply the decent thing to do.
