So it quickly turned into surprise and happiness because the aunt obviously looked like a rich person!
"Hello, Aunt." Zhaodi was very perceptive, running to Jiang Changfeng and sweetly greeting her, wanting to leave a good impression on her aunt.
The other children saw Zhaodi greeting her, and belatedly followed to greet her as well.
"Hey, good kids." Jiang Changfeng looked at her nephews and nieces, her eyes full of affection.
When they reached the main room, the old lady flung aside her youngest daughter’s hand, face stern, speaking coldly: "You heartless wretch, you ungrateful wolf, where have you been all these years? You were so ruthless, saying you wouldn’t co back, and then really not coming back, not even sending a letter. What’s the point of having you? I might as well have raised a dog."
Zhang Guihua felt more aggrieved as she scolded. Although Jiang Changfeng was her daughter, she had always cared for her. Ever since Jiang Changfeng was little, whatever her three brothers had, she was never left out. But how did Jiang Changfeng repay her?
For a man with no prospects, she had abandoned her family and business to run away with him. As Zhang Guihua thought about this, tears began to fall.
Zhang Guihua’s crying frightened Jiang Changfeng. She hurriedly reached out to wipe her mother’s tears.
"Mom, don’t cry; I know I was wrong. I know you were all doing it for my good." Jiang Changfeng said with so helplessness.
"Changfeng, you are so thoughtless. There’s no lasting grudges between parents and children. Although we said so hurtful things out of anger back then, you shouldn’t have left us for so many years. You don’t know how upset your mom was when you first left." Jiang Dashan took a puff from his old smoking pipe, looking at his youngest daughter with a bit of reproach.
Jiang Changfeng felt deeply distressed listening to her parents’ words.
"Mom, Dad, I’m sorry. I was young then and took everything you said literally. If I hadn’t bumped into Mianmian in Xiangcheng this ti, I really wouldn’t know when I would have figured things out." Jiang Changfeng felt both regret and fear.
If she hadn’t t Mianmian this ti, she might have spent her whole life stuck in a rut, unable to get out.
The old lady pursued further, "You went to Xiangcheng all these years, how did you get there?"
To people nowadays, going to Xiangcheng was like going abroad; ordinary folks couldn’t just go.
"Yes, Mom and Dad, after Ma Lei and I left ho back then, we took the train to Shen City, and then secretly crossed over to Xiangcheng." Jiang Changfeng explained briefly.
"Xiangcheng, Zhiyuan says people there are all rich, living better than us inland. Have you been living well in Xiangcheng all these years? Have you had enough to eat and wear?" The old lady asked with concern.
For soone her age, having enough to eat and wear ant a very good life.
"Mom and Dad, don’t worry. I’ve been living well in Xiangcheng, I even have my own company there." Jiang Changfeng skipped the struggles she went through and briefly ntioned her current situation.
The old lady didn’t know what a company was: "Company? What is a company?"
"Mom, a company ans I am the boss, doing business to make money, hiring many people to work for ." Jiang Changfeng explained simply and clearly.
"Oh, so that’s what a company is." The old lady nodded in realization, feeling much more at ease, knowing her youngest daughter hadn’t suffered through these years if she could hire people and do business.
However, in the next second her expression changed, and she asked harshly, "By the way, Changfeng, did you co back alone this ti? Where is that person?"
