Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Encountering Embarrassnt Again
“But this isn’t a big deal as long as you… *hiccup*!” The man belched drunkenly, reeking of alcohol, with a smile that grew increasingly sleazy. His large hand had found its way to Ning Yichu’s waist, caressing back and forth with suggestive fullness. “You understand, right? Tomorrow… I guarantee she’ll be enrolled!”
Ning Yichu felt like vomiting. She quickly slipped him a stack of neatly bundled bills she had prepared in advance and took the opportunity to shove away his greasy hand!
“Understand? How could I not understand? It’s all prepared for you…”
Seeing the bills in his hand, the man’s face suddenly changed. He flung the money to the ground and exploded in anger as if insulted, “You dare to insult with money? Do I look like soone who wants your money? I want you!”
“Director Zhang, stop kidding around. This isn’t sothing nice to spread around.” Ning Yichu’s smile faded bit by bit.
“So what if I insist on having you?” The man, drunk and flushed, beca even greasier.
Ning Yichu calmly responded, “Then let tell you, I t your wife yesterday. She told that every Wednesday she goes to a club for maintenance, and what she hates most is her husband flirting around outside. If… I an, if so unpleasant news were to reach her ears, Director Zhang, I’m afraid your days wouldn’t be so good, would they?”
Did he really think she dared to et him without doing her howork?
Ning Yichu picked the money back up and handed it to him again, “Take the money. Let’s keep it as it was supposed to be. I guarantee your wife won’t find out anything about your misconduct, otherwise she’d be here soon.”
Director Zhang’s face turned completely pale; now gray, now white, he trembled, “Did you call her?”
“Not yet, but if we drag this on, I can’t promise I won’t.”
Director Zhang’s weathered face twitched, “Do you think I’d believe that?”
“If you don’t believe it, feel free to try. After all, I’m asking you to help my daughter get admitted to school. If that doesn’t happen, I’ll still have to co looking for you.” Ning Yichu’s smile held a hint of mockery, now that she had a hold over him, the power was naturally in her hands.
Director Zhang sobered up quite a bit but was still hesitant. To be precise, he didn’t think the woman before him could stir up much trouble.
But indeed, he had risen up by relying on his wife, and they had signed a prenuptial agreent. If he was caught cheating and divorced, he would be left with nothing!
In the end, Director Zhang clenched his teeth, “Just go!”
Ning Yichu raised an eyebrow, “What about my daughter’s admission?”
“I can only say I’ll try my best! After all, the parent blocking your daughter’s transfer wields a large influence behind them, which even I can’t afford to offend…” Director Zhang explained, frustrated and still reeking of alcohol.
“That’s okay. I trust in your capabilities, Director Zhang. I’ll await your good news.” Ning Yichu smiled and nodded, leaving behind a phone number, “We’ll be in touch.”
With that said, Ning Yichu turned and left the private room, exhaling deeply.
Truth be told, she didn’t know his wife at all.
She had rely done so research beforehand.
Fortunately, Director Zhang was scared of his wife, which gave her solid leverage over him.
Ning Yichu felt quite good about handling Ningning’s school admission as she walked away and dialed Fan Yuke to share the good news.
However, what she didn’t expect was that just as she reached the hallway and hadn’t even managed to dial out, Director Zhang burst out in a rage—

“My wife received seven or eight anonymous photos of sleeping with another woman; I already promised to help your daughter enroll, and yet you still harm ! I’ll kill you, you little bitch…”
Ning Yichu was montarily stunned and instinctively dodged to the side, yet she was still grazed by the man’s palm, scratching the skin on her face and neck, leaving behind bloody marks.
She gritted her teeth, “It wasn’t ! My daughter hasn’t even enrolled yet; we’re allies. How could I betray you now?”
“How did my wife know I was eting with you here tonight? Tell , are you perhaps sent by a competitor to trap ?” Director Zhang grew increasingly infuriated, especially since he was drunk, his whole body flushed, his rationality gone!
With a tearing sound, he actually ripped open Ning Yichu’s blouse, exposing her pale skin underneath.
Ning Yichu felt a cool sensation on her skin and retaliated with a slap, “Get lost! I told you I didn’t set you up…”
A faint taste of blood lingered in his mouth. Director Zhang’s eyes were bloodshot as if his whole body’s blood was boiling and burning, completely oblivious to their surroundings, “Damn it, daring to hit ? Even if I get divorced, I’ll kill you first. You’ve already had kids and still pretend to be pure…”
Ning Yichu was not about to let him have his way, shoving, scratching, kicking; the two of them were suddenly at a standoff in the hallway.
In the neighboring private room, Li Lingyang was having a gathering with a few friends, welcoming Yi Xian back to the country.
Yi Xian had just returned from the restroom, and as he pushed the door open, he said with a smirk, “Guess what I just saw in the hallway?”
Mu Bailang, with a corner of his mouth hooked, teased, “From the sleazy smile on your face, it couldn’t be that you saw a couple of wild mandarin ducks mating, could it?”
“Ha-ha, not quite, but it’s almost like that. There was a man and a woman making a scene in the hallway. Jeez, that woman, wearing a short skirt and stockings, her legs so white and long, it really made one’s heart itch. No wonder they didn’t even have ti to get a room, so eager for a public tryst…”
Mu Bailang snorted, “Didn’t think you had that kind of fetish. What if the man was bullying the woman and you didn’t even step forward to help?”
“If it were soone else, I might have, but that woman… Heh, she probably wanted it!” Yi Xian scoffed disdainfully, his gaze inadvertently glancing at Li Lingyang.
Li Lingyang set down his wine glass, his legs elegantly unfolded, “What, soone I know?”
“Your ex-wife, that cheap woman who drugged you to force you to marry her!”

Those words struck Li Lingyang’s heart like a curse.
He jerked in surprise, his sharp eyes shooting towards Yi Xian, “What did you say?”
“Though it’s been five years, I recognized her imdiately. She was getting it on with so random guy in the hallway. It was really eye-burning… Hey, where are you going? We haven’t finished our drinks yet!” Yi Xian said in surprise as he suddenly saw Li Lingyang dart out the door, calling out in confusion and then looking toward Mu Bailang, “I thought Old Li loathed that woman?”
Mu Bailang’s eyes slightly narrowed; a sly smirk appeared, “Loathed her? Maybe not!”
In the hallway, a crowd was gathering. Director Zhang also realized sothing was amiss and forcibly dragged Ning Yichu toward the private room.
A waiter, realizing the situation had spiraled out of control, hurried over to help, only to be kicked away by Director Zhang.
The scene was chaotic with shouting, and soone even took out their phone to record a video…
Just as Ning Yichu was about to be dragged into the private room by the man, the crowd parted, and a tall and straight figure approached, “Director Zhang, quite the lively scene you have here…”
His voice was chilly and familiar.
Ning Yichu quickly turned toward the source of the voice, only to see Li Lingyang, one hand in his pocket, his gaze as piercing and somber as a torch, watching the grappling duo.
Ning Yichu imdiately felt annoyed, how could he witness her in such an awkward and embarrassing scene…
Over the years, Director Zhang’s wife had expanded her business, and his elder brother had a powerful background. Hearing soone call him didn’t bother him, but when he looked up and saw Li Lingyang, he imdiately stopped all his actions, releasing Ning Yichu and imdiately changing to a fawning deanor.
“President Li, what brings you here… I’m really sorry, I just get carried away when I drink too much…”
Li Lingyang’s cold and sharp gaze swept over the ragged Ning Yichu, a surge of murderous intent flashed in his eyes, but he did not show it, still maintaining a cold and unfathomable expression.
“Getting carried away is no excuse to touch one of my guests on my turf, is it? Or are you, Director Zhang, feeling resentful toward my child at your school, looking for an excuse to provoke ?”
Director Zhang’s legs went weak, completely sobering up, shaking his head like a rattle drum, “President Li, you misunderstand, the little young master and Little Miss are very well-behaved in school and have never caused trouble. I was just drunk and unaware this was your territory, I apologize…”
As he spoke, he slapped himself twice, each slap loud and poignant, “President Li, you are a generous man, I won’t dare do it again!”
“A grown man bullying a woman, and yet you are fit to be the principal of Saint Peter’s? Is it that your principal is blind, or are you deliberately causing trouble?” Li Lingyang’s tone beca increasingly sharp, his peripheral vision kept flickering to Ning Yichu, but just as she was about to look his way, he quickly shifted his gaze away, not wanting her to notice.
Was this foolish woman seeking out Director Zhang because she wanted Ningning to switch schools?
Just a word from him would have solved this, yet she had to make it so complicated!
