Chapter 46: Chapter 46 Inside and Outside the Door

Upon obtaining the exact ward number, Li Lingyang hung up the phone and stood waiting for the elevator.

This hospital was sowhat old, equipped with only two elevators and a dense flow of people moving back and forth.

Li Lingyang’s hand was pocketed, and his facial expression was obscure and inscrutable; it was impossible to discern what he was thinking.

Suddenly, as if realizing sothing, Li Lingyang turned sharply to look towards the paynt window.

He saw a fleeting glimpse of a child’s figure.

Slowly, his brows furrowed, but the elevator arrived and he didn’t delve deeper. He stepped into the elevator and headed straight to the sixth floor.

...

In the ward upstairs, when Ning Yichu received Chen Bao’s phone call saying that Li Lingyang had arrived, it was already too late for her to hide.

She was nearly scared out of her wits, okay?

Was it just a few hours since she had made the morning call?

And he had already rushed to the hospital…

If scrutinized closely, Ningning’s relationship with her could not be concealed!

Clack, clack.

The glossy leather shoes tapped against the floor, emitting a dull thudding sound—each step seed to press down on Ning Yichu’s heart.

She quickly gave Ningning a couple of instructions and, with a flash, ducked into the restroom!

Separated by a door, she clearly heard the strong, forceful knocking from outside.

Ningning confird that Ning Yichu was well hidden before sweetly saying, “Co in.”

Li Lingyang, carrying a fruit basket, entered the ward and, unexpectedly, did not see any adults but only Ningning on the bed looking at him, “Bad Uncle, what are you here for?”

Ningning’s breathing was sowhat unstable, her voice slightly tense, but fortunately, she was in the hospital for being sick, so Li Lingyang didn’t think much of it.

“Your mommy told you had a fever, so I specifically ca to see you.” Li Lingyang looked around; the hospital was rather old and the ward fairly simple, lacking even a water boiler.

Looking through the glass window across to the low stairwell building, he frowned, “Where are your mommy and the nanny? Why are you alone?”

Ningning’s eyes flickered, cautiously saying, “They went to buy so things. Thanks for visiting, I’m fine now, you can leave.”

Li Lingyang placed the fruit basket on a nearby small table and casually pulled a wooden chair to sit in front of her bed, “No rush, I’ll wait for your mommy to return; I have a few words to say to her face to face.”

Ningning, puzzled, asked, “You guys don’t know each other, what is there to talk about?”

Li Lingyang’s deep gaze fixed on Ningning, the little girl having just woken from a severe illness, her face still sowhat pale, resembling a delicate, fragile porcelain doll, “Would you like to attend Saint Peter Kindergarten? It has a lot of advanced facilities and teaching staff.”

Hearing Li Lingyang’s words, Ning Yichu exploded with anger inside the restroom!

Li Lingyang dared to secretly tempt Ningning while she was absent!

Shaless!

Fortunately, Ningning’s intelligence was online, and she promptly shook her head in refusal, “Mommy said that pies don’t just fall from the sky.”

“You don’t need to rush to reject it; not everyone can get into that kindergarten. Aside from advanced equipnt, there are chefs from various countries who can make a lot of different delicacies. I could even ask them to make a special nu for you…”

“And, Douou is also studying there; if you go, you can be classmates with her.”

“When you grow up, I can even send you abroad to study.”

Ning Yichu was desperate, Ningning was a little food lover, and Li Lingyang’s move was too cunning; she was struggling to sit still, hoping fervently that Aunt Wang would return soon to send Li Lingyang away.

It was almost as if she had a sixth sense, Ningning sensed Ning Yichu’s dissatisfaction and pouted, “Mommy also said that a gentleman does not accept charity. Wherever Mommy tells to study, I will, so there’s no use talking to about it, bad uncle.”

Li Lingyang raised an eyebrow, “You’re so young and already understand so much of the classical language?”

“Mhm, my mommy taught well!”

“That said, I’m getting more and more curious about your mommy.”

“My mommy probably won’t co today. Granny Wang is coming to pick up from the hospital, so you won’t be able to et her.” The implication was clear, don’t bother waiting here, it’s pointless.

Li Lingyang squinted his eyes suspiciously. Why did this little girl seem so eager for him to leave?

“I’m free today anyway, and since I can’t et your mommy, taking you ho wouldn’t be too bad.” Li Lingyang spoke calmly, but it scared Ningning half to death.

If he wouldn’t leave, wouldn’t her mommy be stuck in the restroom forever?!

She beca anxious, “Aren’t you a big boss, how can you have nothing to do? I still have a check-up later and won’t be discharged until the afternoon!”

“Exactly because I am the boss, and I have a bunch of employees who can handle things that aren’t important for .”

Ningning was on the verge of a breakdown, couldn’t he tell she was trying to shoo him away?

Angrily glancing at him, she grabbed the blanket, lay down on the bed, and turned her back to him, “I’m going to rest now! You should leave quickly!”

Li Lingyang curved his lips slightly, “Alright, I’ll just use the restroom and then I’ll leave.”

Ah? Restroom? No, that can’t happen!

“You can’t go to the restroom!” Ningning, like a carp bouncing off, suddenly flipped over and jumped off the bed.

Li Lingyang had already reached the restroom door, his large hand on the doorknob, but he found it was locked from inside. He frowned, looking down at the little figure, “Is there soone inside?”

“No… no one’s inside,” Ningning stamred.

“Then why can’t I go in?”

“Because this is my room, and I don’t like bad strangers using my restroom!” Ningning, with her hands on her hips, blocked the restroom door.

Li Lingyang’s shrewd eyes moved past the little girl, staring straight at the restroom, unable to see inside through the frosted glass door, but he had a hunch that soone was definitely there.

“Mr. Li, why have you co?” Suddenly, Aunt Wang’s voice ca from outside.

Li Lingyang turned casually and smiled, “I heard Ningning was ill, just ca to visit. What about it, did Ningning’s mom not co with you?”

“She’s been in the hospital with Ningning this whole ti,” Aunt Wang said, puzzled.

Ningning’s heart pounded. She quickly gave Aunt Wang a look, explaining, “Granny Wang, have you forgotten? Mommy said she was going to buy so daily necessities and left with you.”

Aunt Wang couldn’t rember at all.

Ningning looked sincerely at her.

“My mory is getting worse; I’m really sorry, Mr. Li. Let pour you a glass of water,” Aunt Wang genuinely thought she had forgotten, setting down the thermos, she offered politely.

“No need, when Ningning’s mother returns, please give this to her and tell her my intentions were sincere,” Li Lingyang spoke in a low, seductive voice, his eyes glancing briefly at the closed restroom door before he left.

Through the frosted glass door, Ning Yichu couldn’t see Li Lingyang’s expression but hearing the door close, she felt a huge relief.

Her tensed nerves relaxed, and she accidentally hit the shelf inside the restroom, causing a noise that caught the attention of Aunt Wang in the room, “What was that noise?”

The next second, Ning Yichu slowly slid open the door and walked out.

“Lady Ning? Weren’t you going out to buy so daily necessities?” Aunt Wang was shocked.
