Chapter 349: Chapter 349: Collapse! I think I’m sick

Special Assistant Xu once heard Ningning complain about being tired of eating Reykjavik’s food. Following the principle of spoiling the Li Family’s little princess, he simply brought over a chef from Imperial City overnight to set up a small kitchen on this floor, specializing in Hua Country cuisine.

Ning Yichu also preferred these Hua Country dishes much more.

Li Lingyang’s deep eyes darkened as he raised a brow, deliberately reaching for the spoon with his right hand in front of Ning Yichu.

His hand was still hooked to an IV needle. After just two movents, the tube imdiately flushed with blood…

“Li Lingyang, stop moving carelessly!”

Ning Yichu’s eyelid twitched. She hadn’t noticed earlier that Li Lingyang’s right hand was still connected to the IV. She quickly took the spoon from his hand.

“Just lie down here properly—I’ll help you!”

His body couldn’t afford even the slightest mishap right now…

Li Lingyang’s eyes flashed with a subtle victorious smile. His expression remained calm as he curled his lips. “I’ll have to trouble you, then.”

“…” Why did it feel like she had fallen into another trap set by this man?

After letting out a soft hum, Ning Yichu steadied her nerves, picked up the bowl, scooped a spoonful of porridge, gently blew on it twice, and was about to feed him.

But when she raised her eyes, she t Li Lingyang’s abyss-like gaze, full of aggression, intense and scorching.

“When I was unconscious, was this how you stayed by my side?”

“I also overheard you say…”

“That as long as I woke up, you’d agree to anything I asked of you.”

Her heartbeat suddenly skipped a half-beat, and Ning Yichu’s fingers trembled. Half of the porridge spilled out of the bowl. When had she ever said anything like that? Was he just fabricating nonsense here?

But what was worse…

The spilled porridge landed right onto Li Lingyang’s leg.

“Hiss…”

A burst of scalding heat struck, causing Li Lingyang to wrinkle his brows slightly.

“I’m so sorry! I didn’t do it on purpose!”

Ning Yichu hurriedly grabbed so tissues and began helping him wipe.

As she continued to wipe, she realized the place the porridge had spilled on was actually Li Lingyang’s…

Her mind instantly short-circuited. She froze, neither retreating nor advancing, forced instead to awkwardly continue wiping.

“Did you…get burned?”

The atmosphere in the hospital room suddenly heated up, an unspeakable sense of intimacy lingering in the air.

It was as if an invisible thread had been tightened between the two of them, tugging at their hearts.

Li Lingyang observed her flushed cheeks, her eyes brimming with a watery shimr like autumn lakes. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and his gaze deepened. “Just a little bit, maybe.”

Hearing this, Ning Yichu imdiately tensed. She forgot her embarrassnt in her worry about the gunshot wound on his leg.

“Did the porridge splash onto your wound?” Her voice carried a trace of guilt.

“The wound is wrapped with bandages, so it’s not a serious issue. But…”

Li Lingyang’s dark eyes glinted with mischief, though his expression remained solemn. He responded earnestly, “It’s just that these damp pants are a bit uncomfortable. Could you help change them?”

Huh?!

Help Li Lingyang change his pants!!

Ning Yichu’s hand trembled, her embarrassnt reaching its peak.

Although the two of them had once shared intimacy, those monts had been accidental. Right now, she felt absolutely incapable of handling this.

Letting out an awkward cough, she suggested, “How about I call the attending physician to help you instead?”

Li Lingyang rejected her outright. “No. I don’t want anyone else seeing my body!”

“You’re just a grown man—what’s the big deal?!” Surely it wasn’t out of shyness?

Li Lingyang smirked faintly, his tone teasing. “I don’t care. Anyone other than you is out of the question.”

“…”

The two of them stared at each other silently. In the end, Ning Yichu admitted defeat.

After all, it was just changing clothes. Besides, she was a doctor—what hadn’t she seen before?

She convinced herself firmly, thinking of him as nothing more than a slab of plain pork.

Despite her ntal preparation, her heartbeat still raced erratically.

Face flushed, she forced herself to put on a composed façade. She bent down carefully and began helping him remove his pants…

Li Lingyang’s entire body felt hot, his thoughts filling with untily ideas, and his mouth was parched.

Usually, in monts like this, his body would have already been burning with desire.

But inexplicably—

What was going on?

Li Lingyang’s handso face darkened like the bottom of a pot, his eyes filled with disbelief.

“What’s wrong?” Ning Yichu had already grabbed the fresh pants to change him into when she noticed his odd expression, as though sothing major had happened. She casually asked.

As soone with a strong sense of pride, Li Lingyang naturally couldn’t admit that there might be sothing wrong with his body!

He forced a stiff smile, pretending to be relaxed. “It’s nothing, just—thanks for your effort.”

At least he managed to say sothing decent.

Ning Yichu worked efficiently and soon finished helping him change. “It was my fault earlier for being careless. As long as you’re okay, that’s what matters.”

“…” His body’s issue was anything but okay!

Li Lingyang was genuinely at his wit’s end but couldn’t let Ning Yichu know. He had to maintain composure and nodded with a strained smile.

Ning Yichu, noticing his rare compliance today, continued feeding him breakfast. “Open your mouth!”

Li Lingyang pulled at his lips reluctantly, finding the food utterly tasteless despite her efforts.

Once Ning Yichu left, he couldn’t wait to summon the attending physician, even instructing the bodyguards to guard the hospital room and prevent anyone else from entering.

The attending physician, taken aback, thought he might have done sothing wrong and began to feel nervous.

“Mr. Li, is there sothing you needed to discuss with ?”

Li Lingyang lay half-reclined on the bed, his face stoic and silent.

The atmosphere grew suffocatingly quiet.

The attending physician’s heart raced with anxiety. From the ti he started managing Li Lingyang’s condition up until now, he hadn’t made any major errors.

Why would Li Lingyang suddenly call him over, only to say nothing? What exactly was happening?

Just as the attending physician was on the verge of losing his mind from the silence, Li Lingyang finally spoke.

“Listen carefully to what I’m about to say. If a third person finds out, this ti next year will be your death anniversary.”

The attending physician wiped his sweat nervously. “Mr. Li, please rest assured. Protecting patient privacy is our most fundantal professional ethic. I won’t tell anyone.”

Li Lingyang’s predator-like gaze turned icy, his face showing unease. Gritting his teeth, he said, “Sothing’s wrong with my body. I’m not reacting to the woman I’m attracted to.”

Finally, he added, “I wasn’t like this before!”

The attending physician froze in place and took several seconds to react. He hesitantly confird, “Mr. Li, do you an…”

“…” Li Lingyang’s mood was in shambles, but his silence showed his tacit approval.

“This phenonon is completely normal. Your primary injury this ti was to the outer thigh, very close to that area. Plus, the wound hasn’t fully healed and is still in the early recovery phase. Your brain’s nerves instinctively protect your body, so there’s temporarily no response.”
