Capítulo 417: Chapter 404: Say Daddy
The car stopped downstairs at Emily Parker’s place, and as Carlos got out of the car, his gaze was instantly captivated by the person walking over.
Emily Parker was wearing an off-white dress that fell to her ankles, highlighting her slender and gentle silhouette, with a string of fine chain pearls around her neck. Her gentle eyes were enough to captivate anyone.
Little Jules obediently stayed close to her side. When Emily Parker ca over, Celeste imdiately let go of Carlos’s hand and held onto Emily Parker’s hand.
Celeste even shook Emily Parker’s fingertips, calling out sweetly, “Mom.”
Aaron, receiving his sister’s suggestive look, quickly followed suit, calling out “Uncle Carter.”
Carlos’s heart softened, and he bent down to help Little Jules straighten his collar, but his gaze first swept over Emily Parker, with a hint of appreciation in his tone, “Your mom looks beautiful today.”
Little Jules couldn’t help but roll his eyes inwardly, Dad, you big dummy, why don’t you say that in front of Mom.
Emily Parker’s face flushed slightly, just about to speak, when Carlos’s gaze suddenly lingered on Little Jules’s face.
The child’s mask was still tightly hanging behind his ears. Carlos frowned, “The allergy isn’t better yet? It’s been almost half a month, should we call the doctor to take another look?”
Emily Parker’s heart skipped a beat, instinctively moving closer to Little Jules’s side.
She explained, “It’s nothing, nothing, the doctor said to wear it for a couple more days as a precaution, so the wind doesn’t cause it to flare up again. Kids have tender skin, we can’t be careless.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Celeste raised her little face and chid in, “I helped apply ointnt on Jules yesterday; he’ll get better soon!”
The child’s soft voice just happened to ease the slight tension in Emily Parker’s tone.
Carlos didn’t ask further, and just held his daughter’s hand as they walked towards the car.
But when the car reached the ornate iron gates of Zenthar, just as the group was about to enter, Emily Parker suddenly stopped.
Not far away, Sophie Parker and Adam Willow walked over, accompanied by several Parker Family mbers in suits, with Adam Willow standing most conspicuously in the middle.
He was wearing a well-tailored dark suit, his handso face showing a bit of impatience.
Sophie Parker tried to hold his hand, but he avoided her. He looked up, his gaze pausing briefly on Emily Parker before sweeping over the two children and Carlos.
As Sophie Parker caught sight of Emily Parker, her eyes first dimd. The off-white dress paired with pearls, though understated, brought out an elegant and prominent deanor in Emily Parker. Thinking of her own designer gown, she inexplicably felt a bit self-conscious.
Why is Emily Parker here?
Could she have discovered sothing?
Has she found out the truth about her heritage, planning to expose us in front of the Governor?
Sophie Parker quickly exchanged a glance with her father, Henry Parker, who shook his head, implying that Emily knew nothing.
Only then did Sophie Parker breathe a sigh of relief and walked over.
“Emily, long ti no see, I didn’t expect you to co for the Governor’s birthday.”
“We were invited over by the Governor. He gets along very well with the two kids.”
Emily Parker replied nonchalantly.
Sophie Parker had also heard about the Governor recently befriending a little boy, treating him as his own grandson.
Unexpectedly, that little boy turned out to be Emily Parker’s son.
The son of a vixen really is a little vixen himself!
Sophie Parker purposely let her gaze linger on the two children, with a hint of deliberate probing in her tone, “Are these two… I’ve heard you’ve remarried. You haven’t co back to the maternal ho for a visit? These two are my nephew and niece, aren’t they?”
Understanding the barbs hidden in those words, Emily Parker was just about to respond when Celeste tugged on Aaron’s hand, and Aaron imdiately got the hint.
“Hello, Auntie!” Celeste spoke first, her voice sweet and yet sharp, “Mom says when we return ho, we should see those who truly treat Mom well, not just anyone is considered family.”
Aaron chid in, looking up at the Parker Family mbers, “Yes! It’s our first ti eting the elders, according to custom, shouldn’t we get a greeting gift? Mom says that’s polite!”
The Parkers hadn’t expected the children to be so forthright and looked at each other, feeling sowhat awkward.
Henry Parker forced a smile, “Ah, we ca out in a rush today and didn’t bring cash, next ti… we’ll make it up next ti.”
“That’s okay!” Aaron imdiately replied, turning to Emily Parker, “Mom, I rember you said everyone uses electronic paynt now!”
Emily Parker was montarily bewildered, but before she could react, Aaron had already recited the account details with clear precision, not missing a word.
Henry Parker was so infuriated his face changed color, but given the situation, he couldn’t lose his temper and could only grit his teeth and pull out his phone to transfer ten thousand dollars over.
But as soon as the money was transferred, Aaron frowned, full of doubt in his voice, “Huh? That little? Only five zeros!”
