Capítulo 407: Chapter 394: Kill Emily Parker
“You!” Carlos’s pupils suddenly shrank, his entire body seed nailed to the spot, his gaze fixed intently on Little Jules, his voice full of disbelief and shock.
“Aaron!” Emily Parker quickly rushed over, scooping her son into her arms. Her eyes landed on Aaron’s face, and she froze in place.
She looked down to see her son’s once fair and tender face now covered with a dense array of small red rashes, even his ear tips were flushed. Was this an allergy?
Her son, due to his frail health, was indeed prone to allergies when he was younger, but over the years, with proper care, he had improved significantly. As long as he didn’t co into contact with allergens, he wouldn’t have allergic reactions.
“Mom!”
Aaron didn’t feel uncomfortable at all, cheerfully hugging Emily around the neck. His little head rubbed against her neck, and he sneakily glanced at Carlos on the side, sticking his tongue out quickly and softly speaking, “Mom, I accidentally got so pollen from the flower bed on .”
Emily imdiately understood, this was nowhere near an “accident,” it was clearly intentional by this little guy.
Sure enough, Aaron snuggled further into her arms and whispered in a voice only audible to the two of them, “Mom, during lunch, my sister said that Dad would co to take us out for dinner today…” While speaking, he blinked his round eyes at Emily, his little face showing a bit of cunning.
In this way, Dad wouldn’t be able to see through them.
He didn’t plan on acknowledging Dad just yet, not when Dad treated Little Carter so well.
He planned to observe Dad a bit longer. If Dad really wasn’t good to Mom and him, then he wouldn’t acknowledge this Dad.
Emily was both annoyed and amused, gently tapping his small nose with her fingertip, about to speak, when Carlos’s voice ca through, with a hint of involuntary concern, “Is your son going to be okay? His face is covered in rashes, should we take him to the hospital now?”
He looked at Aaron’s face, resembling a “monkey’s butt,” his brows furrowed tightly, his feelings exceptionally complex.
Technically, this was Emily’s son, unrelated to him at all. He shouldn’t care, even feel a bit of aversion.
But seeing this little guy so small and thin, cuddling around Emily’s neck so obediently, instead of feeling dislike, his heart tugged slightly, with a hint of worry.
Aaron heard Carlos’s words, sneaked another glance at him, tightly gripping Emily’s clothing corner, not daring to speak again, only burying his little head deeper.
“Old issue, it’s fine, just so dicine and a few days’ rest, and he’ll be alright.”
Emily touched Aaron’s flushed face, her voice tinged with heartache, yet a helpless smile flitted across her eyes.
This little guy knew how to “make the most” of his allergy.
She knew Carlos would probably co today because he wasn’t at ease about Celeste. Going forward, with him busy with Carter Clan matters, he couldn’t always co to accompany their daughter.
“I’ll take you all back together.”
As Carlos spoke, his gaze swept to Emily’s parked motorcycle not far away, his brow furrowing instantly, his voice full of disapproval, “Riding a motorcycle with two kids is too unsafe. My car is just up ahead.”
Emily didn’t refuse.
She knew she had to create an appearance in front of Aaron and Celeste that “even if divorced, Mom and Dad can get along,” to prevent leaving a barrier in the children’s hearts.
She held Aaron, Carlos carried Celeste, and the four of them walked to the parking lot together. Along the way, Celeste occasionally chatted with Carlos about interesting things at kindergarten, to which Carlos listened patiently, his tone softer than usual.
Nobody noticed a pair of sinister eyes watching them from a luxury car not far away; it was Rainny White.
Her face was extrely downcast, her fingers gripping the steering wheel tightly, knuckles turning white.
A few days ago, Charles Pond exposed Alia Willow’s situation, and she got dragged into it, managing to suppress it with money. Also, due to the Saint Mary’s Kindergarten dispute, she had to sneak around while picking up Young Sebastian recently.
To regain her dignity at the kindergarten and force Carlos into more interaction, she had specifically arranged for Carlos to pick up Young Sebastian today. But every ti she called, she only got Carlos’s cold voicemail response: “Hello, the owner is busy and can’t co to the phone right now.”
In the backseat, Young Sebastian was swinging his legs, complaining with a face full of dissatisfaction.
“Mom, isn’t that Dad? Why is he with that woman and two little kids? Why didn’t you let find Dad before? I want the latest gaming console, I want Dad to buy it for !”
Rainny White was further irritated by her son’s words, but could only suppress her anger, pressing a hand on his shoulder, her voice tight, “Mom will buy you the gaming console. You got it wrong, that’s not Dad!” she said, a streak of malice flashing in her eyes, Emily, it’s you again!
Rainny’s heart felt stuffed with cotton, the more she thought, the angrier she beca – anyone could see Carlos’s attitude change recently, all because of Emily’s return! He may have been cold to her before, but at least he would say a couple of appeasing words; now, he couldn’t even be bothered to pick up the phone.
“And Grandpa? Grandpa hasn’t visited in a long ti either. When Dad was busy, Grandpa would always co with snacks and play with .” Young Sebastian further asked with a frowning face, full of grievance, still shaking Rainny’s arm.
This hit Rainny even harder, leaving her breathless. Just days ago, she heard from others that Evan Palr was arrested, and it was for murder!
In the past, Evan was her backer, and with him, even Old Lady Carter would show her so respect. But now, with her support gone, she had no foothold in the Carter Family. If this continued, she and her son might be fully abandoned by the Carter Clan.
“Grandpa has been busy lately too; once he’s done, he’ll co to see you.” Rainny stroked her son’s head, but inside, her mind was a tangled ss.
Suppressing a stomach full of anger, she drove ho with Young Sebastian. As she opened the door, she spotted Linda White lounging on the living room sofa, sipping tea.
Rainny waved to Young Sebastian, “Go play with your gaming console in the room. Mom needs to talk to your aunt.” As soon as Young Sebastian heard there was a gaming console to play with, he promptly forgot his earlier complaints, happily running to his room.
“Sis, didn’t you ntion knowing so people on the street who could help with so tricky problems?” Rainny asked as she sat beside the sofa, her voice low, her gaze unable to conceal urgency.
Linda’s hand holding the teacup slightly paused, causing a ripple in the tea. She looked up at Rainny, with a aningful smile slowly forming, asking leisurely, “Oh? Judging by your look, you’ve t soone troubleso? Who do you want to deal with?”
“Emily, Carlos’s ex-wife.” Rainny almost spat the words through gritted teeth, the ntion of the na revealing unconcealed spite in her eyes.
“Ever since she ca back, Carlos has been like a different person, ignoring and Sebastian, even getting President Palr imprisoned. Without her, I would now be Carlos’s legitimate wife, not in this predicant!”
Her tone grew harsher, “I don’t care what thod you use, as long as you can make her disappear from Zylos, I’ll pay any price!”
