Chapter 197: Chapter 193 Father-Daughter Conflict

“Then lead the way.”

Sophie Parker looked haughty, speaking while making a gesture.

Evelyn Hanson’s heart was in turmoil, filled with anxiety and unease.

She was well aware of the significance of this inspection, and even the slightest mistake could bring nurous troubles to the hospital.

She forced herself to be composed, squeezing out a warm smile as she led the inspection team inside.

Along the way, Evelyn detailed the features and advantages of each departnt in Eastern Hospital, sharing stories behind classic cases, and highlighting the research achievents of recent years, brimming with pride for the hospital.

She didn’t miss a single detail, hoping to leave a good impression on the inspection team.

Sophie initially intended to find faults, glancing around with a critical eye, ready to seize on any flaw.

But to his surprise, Evelyn was extrely well-prepared, answering each question fluently, and every departnt of the hospital adhered strictly to Health Ministry regulations.

The work processes at Eastern Hospital were standardized and orderly, the dical staff friendly and kind, and the patients encountered along the way were all very satisfied with various aspects of the hospital.

After a thorough inspection, Sophie had examined every nook and cranny but found not the slightest flaw, feeling sowhat annoyed.

Evelyn secretly let out a sigh of relief, her steps becoming lighter, filled with gratitude towards her friend Emily Parker.

Reflecting on the past period, had it not been for Emily’s continual help in reorganizing the hospital, streamlining procedures, and training the staff, facing the inspection team today, she would have already been flustered.

However, Evelyn underestimated Sophie’s malice.

Sophie was determined to find fault today, unwilling to give up without achieving his goal.

He suddenly rolled his eyes, revealing a cunning smile, and said,

“All aspects of the hospital seem decent.

But your hospital’s promotional materials seem to have falsification.

You claim to have renowned experts recognized by the State Council on duty. If so, bring a doctor over to consult with us, and see if your hospital’s doctors are as proficient in Chinese and Western dicine as your promotional materials claim.”

At hearing this, Evelyn was montarily stunned, her smile freezing on her face.

Eastern Hospital indeed had so renowned doctors, but those proficient in both Chinese and Western dicine were rare, and the few who were available only consulted on specific days.

Where could she find soone on such short notice?

But she knew clearly that if she didn’t find soone, Sophie might use this as an excuse to deem the inspection unsuccessful, rendering all previous efforts of the hospital in vain.

Just as Evelyn was exceedingly anxious, a clear voice ca over,

“I’ll do it.”

Everyone looked towards the voice, seeing Emily Parker, mask-clad, approaching quickly. Her steps were light, and her eyes showed confidence and composure.

“Ghost Doctor, you ca!”

Evelyn’s eyes instantly lit up, as if seeing a glimr of hope in the darkness, and much of her anxiety was imdiately dispelled.

Ghost Doctor was introduced to Evelyn by Emily, although Evelyn had never seen her true face, ever since she ca to Eastern Hospital, she had been of great help.

Whether in Chinese or Western dicine, the hospital frequently sought her for guidance.

She didn’t usually consult, only seeing Mrs. Carter. Evelyn never expected she would appear suddenly at this critical mont.

Sophie looked up and down at Emily in front of him, eyes filled with suspicion and disdain.

Judging by her young appearance, with a bit of immaturity in her actions and words, it was apparent she was a fledgling young doctor.

So young, yet claiming proficiency in both Chinese and Western disciplines?

Sophie scoffed internally, thinking to himself that this was simply ridiculous; he was eager to see how this naïve young person would embarrass herself later.

Sophie’s mouth curved in a mocking smile, his gaze probing Emily like a knife,

“Oh?

How many years have you studied dicine?

What are your educational background and title?”

As a deputy in the Health Ministry, Sophie prided himself on knowing the country’s renowned doctors well, and this excessively young figure before him did not ring any bells in his mind.

He believed she was either a brazen impostor or soone with a dubious foreign education, but judging by her looks, the forr was far more likely.

Emily’s expression was calm, exuding an aura of poise, she spoke unhurriedly,

“I have been studying dicine for 20 years, graduated from Harvard dical School, and have countless titles from both ho and abroad. Dostically, my title should be National Doctor.”

Her voice was low yet clear, each word sounding like the most ordinary statent.

But to Sophie, this sounded like an absurd joke; he was first taken aback, then burst into laughter, full of undisguised contempt,

“Studying dicine for 20 years?

You’re boasting is out of this world.

Looking at your age, did you start studying dicine from the womb?

Harvard dical School?

National Doctor title?

As far as I know, there is no such title in the country.

Looks like Eastern Hospital is indeed second-rate, employing such a charlatan to practice.”

He gestured at Emily while speaking, his tone becoming increasingly sharp, waiting to see her leave disheartened.

“Believe it or not.

You can verify everything I said.”

Emily’s expression was calm, spreading her hands gently, her voice carrying unwavering certainty.

She raised her eyes towards Sophie, a fleeting, complex emotion in her gaze.

Recalling the past, Sophie had always regarded her with disdain since childhood, suppressing her at every turn, as if she would never asure up to Evelyn.

This long-standing contempt was precisely why she continuously concealed her real capabilities, to avoid being used by Sophie as a tool for ambition, manipulated at will.

At her words, Sophie was montarily perplexed; he initially thought this young doctor would reveal her true colors under his relentless probing, yet she appeared unfazed, which was sowhat unexpected.

However, a thought flashed in his mind, and he couldn’t help but laugh mockingly, his laughter full of ridicule.

“You’re still being cryptic; there’s a ti difference between foreign and local. How can I verify it now?”

He said while folding his arms, his face full of arrogance,

“As for the State Council, if I really believed your word and went to verify, I’d be the laughingstock.

If you can’t provide concrete evidence, don’t bla for revoking Eastern Hospital’s Class Three, Grade A qualification.”

He squinted, eyes flashing coldly,.

“To prove whether what she says is true is actually quite simple.”

As the tension was about to erupt, a deep, magnetic voice sounded from behind the group.

Everyone turned to see Carlos approaching steadily with tall stature and walking firmly.

His presence was commanding, the previously noisy space instantly quieted a bit, with all attention focused on him.
