It absolutely can’t happen!
“Alright, you all should head ho once you’re done with work, ” Lin Qingyan said, flashing a polite smile. “I’m leaving now.”
The staff mber nodded, “Take care, Teacher Lin. You’ve worked hard.”
Lin Qingyan exited the training base and glanced back at the lit-up Dance Room 2. She let out a cold chuckle.
She was looking forward to the performance day after tomorrow, eager to see what sort of blunder Si Fuqing would make and how many would be eliminated from the class.
Having a beautiful face didn’t necessarily an you could make it in the entertainnt industry.
Friday.
Two in the afternoon.
In Si Fuqing’s fan forum, nurous fans were buzzing with excitent.
[Live announcent! Tonight at six in the afternoon, East Moon will host a celebration banquet, and the official photoshoot is currently underway!]
[Mousse in Lin can go have a look. I’m so envious it’s making cry. Make sure to snap so photos; this woman never posts a single one.]
[With Wifey having many haters out there, be cautious when you’re staking out the place.]
[Enough talk. I’m going undercover in the haters’ group. Gotta bear the humiliation to take them down!]
At this mont, at the East Moon headquarters.
The shooting team was ready, all kinds of photography equipnt set up.
“Miss Si is currently changing outfits; we have a total of seven outfits to shoot today,” the director clapped his hands. “It’s going to be a lot of work, so thank you all in advance.”
The photographers nodded, all of them sowhat thrilled.
This would be their first ti seeing Si Fuqing in person—the face that had taken Great Xia by storm.
“The outfits of Great Xia are rarely done justice in photoshoots. Miss Si has a striking face, so this will probably be a challenging session for us,” the director mused while adjusting the cara. “Most dramas set in the Xia dynasty usually focus on events after the 1200 -year tiline.”
The 1200 -year mark was a watershed mont in history when lifestyle, clothing, and culture underwent significant changes.
“It’s not really about the clothes,” the lead photographer muttered. “Few dare to touch on the era of Emperor Yin. Making a drama about that would get you ripped apart by historical fans.”
The director’s hand wobbled for a mont, “True, true.”
The fan base of Emperor Yin likely outnumbered those of several top celebrities in the entertainnt industry combined.
No actor in their right mind would dare to portray him.
“Here she cos! Miss Si is coming out!” soone shouted.
Everyone eagerly lifted their heads.
The first thing they saw was a hand, gracefully lifting the beaded curtain. The curtain rolled up obediently, and a mont later, a radiant figure erged.
Her long gown trailed the ground, the luxurious fabric whispering softly as she moved.
Her face wasn’t visible at first, but even from her poise alone, everyone knew they were in the presence of extraordinary beauty.
Finally, she stepped under the cara light, tilting her head ever so slightly to
reveal her face in all its unguarded glory.
A breathtaking beauty, her skin as pure as ice and bones as delicate as jade.
A visage that could rival the splendor of blooming flowers and the charm of a crescent moon.
The set went deathly silent.
After what seed like an eternity, soone finally let out a soft gasp.
With a clang, the tripod in the main photographer’s hand fell to the ground. That jarring sound jolted everyone back to reality.
“Damn it!” The director scolded, his voice filled with frustration. “You’ve photographed plenty of people, can you not keep it together?”
The main photographer glanced at the visibly shaken director and chuckled,
“Look who’s talking.”
The director: “…”
After a hectic reorganization, they finally began shooting the first set of outfits. The more they shot, the more astounded the team beca. The general manager grew curious, “What’s with those expressions?”
“Miss Si has an extraordinary presence in front of the cara,” the director whispered, his face flushed with excitent. “It’s rare to see soone like her; she’s a natural-born actress!”
The general manager was taken aback, “An actress? Are you sure?”
The gap between idols and actors was wide.
A web series starring only idols last year had been so poorly received that it was pulled off air.
“Absolutely, positively sure!” The director was practically dancing with excitent. “Director Qu has a keen eye for talent. I even have a feeling that Miss Si might break into Glenn!”
The general manager wiped his sweat, “Isn’t that a bit… exaggerated?”
Glenn was what?
A cca for performing artists.
Very few from Great Xia had ever made it there.
And most importantly, the folks there had never thought highly of people from Great Xia.
Just then, an assistant hurried over, “General Manager, Miss Xia Sheng is here.”
The general manager frowned, ‘What does she want? Tell her to leave.”
“Miss Xia insists on seeing Miss Si,” the assistant said, clearly in a dilemma.
“She claims it’s urgent.”
“Fine, let her co up,” the general manager sighed, “but keep an eye on her.
Don’t let her disturb Miss Si.”
Si Fuqing had just finished shooting three sets of outfits and was taking a break.
She wiped her hands. “Soone’s looking for again? Let’s see who it is.”
Xia Sheng was seated in the rest area, visibly nervous. Upon seeing Si Fuqing walking in, she held her breath and stood up hastily, “Miss Si, hello, I’m Xia
Sheng. ”
“Hello,” Si Fuqing gave a slight nod, “I don’t believe I know you.” “It’s only natural that Miss Si doesn’t know ,” Xia Sheng hesitated for a mont and then bowed slightly, “I’ve co to apologize to you.”
Si Fuqing raised an eyebrow, “Apologize?”
“I failed to restrain my fans, causing you a great deal of trouble,” Xia Sheng gave a bitter smile. “It was also due to my own dissatisfaction and jealousy after you landed the endorsent deal that I allowed them to behave as they did.”
“Now that you’ve proven your worth beyond a doubt, I must admit that it’s hard not to be envious of you.”
Xia Sheng scrutinized the woman before her.
She had to admit, Si Fuqing was flawless, possessing a face that needed no additional talents to shine brightly in the entertainnt industry.
“Those who lack ability resort to jealousy; those who have it use it as motivation,” Si Fuqing said, her smile slight but aningful. “But I do admire soone like Miss Xia who can face it so openly.”
She extended her hand.
Xia Sheng was sowhat taken aback but shook it nonetheless. “Thank you also for not holding a grudge.”
Si Fuqing looked indifferent, “It’s not a big deal.”
“There’s another matter for which I must apologize,” Xia Sheng lowered her head. “I really wanted that endorsent deal, so I ntioned it in front of Young Master Yu Yao.”
Si Fuqing humd noncommittally, showing no emotional upheaval. Xia Sheng pursed her lips, “I hope it didn’t disturb you.”
“Don’t worry, he wouldn’t dare,” Si Fuqing was completely unconcerned. “I haven’t finished my makeup shots, and ti is of the essence. If there’s anything else you’d like to say, Miss Xia, please make it quick.”
“There is one more thing,” Xia Sheng paused, cautiously broaching the subject,
“I wonder if Miss Si is acquainted with Ji Qingwei of the Ji family from Sijiu?”
