“Captain,” one of the team mbers stepped forward, “we found several ordinary people locked in a room. We’re preparing to send them to the hospital.”
“Mhmm,” Odile responded, “You handle it. I’m going back on vacation.”
She was already planning to spend her break watching “Crossing the Demon Realm”.
Just as she stepped out of the Shen residence, her phone rang.
Odile frowned, glanced at the caller ID, and picked up. “Hello?”
A deep voice ca from the other end. “The Shen family is a minor clan, not even in the top hundred. How did they manage to provoke you?”
Odile let out a casual “Oh” and replied, “Attempted abduction of a young woman. I didn’t like it.”
Chris narrowed his eyes, remaining silent. Clearly, he wasn’t entirely convinced by this explanation.
Suddenly, Odile said, “By the way, you should give up.”
“What?”
“You’ve been searching for her for four years and still haven’t found her. She’s right in front of you, yet you’re blind.”
Chris: “…?”
Odile ended the call right after saying this, blocking the number as she did so.
