Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Sang Qiao: I Gave You the Opportunity

“Sang Qiao, I… I wanted to ask if you have any evidence to prove that L was hired by you,” Sang Shen said, feeling uncomfortable under her stare as he forced the question out.

Hearing this, Sang Qiao didn’t even lift her eyelids, steadily finishing the last slice of chips in her hand, then threw the empty bag into the trash bin beside her.

Only then did she look up at him with a leisurely chuckle without making a sound.

Sang Shen felt even more uneasy, he couldn’t wait to defend himself:

“I don’t an to doubt you, it’s just that Jiaojiao has produced chat records with L, and I’ve many tis failed to give you the chance to explain, which led to you being slandered. I don’t want to make the sa mistake again.”

He continued with difficulty: “I want to treat you all equally, to be a good brother.”

“Do you even deserve to use the term ‘treat equally’? When Jiaojiao puts evidence in front of you, you waver and want to believe her, but if it were , you would only think I was fabricating right and wrong.”

Clearly mocking him, Sang Qiao’s expression was exceptionally indifferent, as if she truly didn’t care what he thought.

Her words successfully reminded Sang Shen of his past distrust of her.

Sang Shen’s entire body stiffened, fearing that she would act out of spite at this mont and casually admit to sothing she hadn’t done, his tone becoming unconsciously submissive.

“I… I was prejudiced against you back then, I’m sorry… Sang Qiao, please tell the truth about this, don’t admit to a cri out of spite, okay?”

“L has a surgery tomorrow night at Jiangcheng Third Hospital, and is expected to return around ten o’clock at night. You can wait for him at the airport in advance.”

Sang Qiao was not foolish enough to act out of spite at such a ti; she wasn’t the type to let others take credit for her work.

Even if she no longer had any expectations for Sang Shen, she wouldn’t let others reap benefits for nothing, especially not Jiaojiao.

“Alright, I understand,” Sang Shen said, having gotten the answer he wanted, yet unable to move his feet.

He looked towards her cautiously, “Do you have plans this afternoon? How about I take you to watch a movie, and buy so clothes?”

Sang Qiao glanced at him without a hint of pleasure; what she had once yearned for was now too late.

Sang Shen, failing to notice anything amiss, thought she was simply disdainful of his clothes. “I’ll buy a new outfit at the shopping mall right away and change, so I won’t embarrass you.”

“You’re still doubtful, and yet you dare take out shopping without fearing to hurt Jiaojiao’s feelings?” Sang Qiao laughed.

“We are siblings, too. Jiaojiao won’t mind. I used to think you were just abroad enjoying yourself and even when I was seriously injured, you didn’t show any concern. I thought you…”

Sang Shen suddenly found it hard to continue, fearful of making Sang Qiao even more disappointed in them.

“But I mind that you have another sister; how about I give you a chance to redeem yourself, Sang Shen?”

Sang Qiao said, her lips curling with interest as she watched him. The Sang Emperor, who was so harsh towards her just recently, now looked as pitiful as a dog. How things had changed.

“Qiaoqiao, you tell ,” Sang Shen’s despondent eyes suddenly sparkled.

Now, even if Sang Qiao asked him to give up his career in the entertainnt industry, he would agree without hesitation.

Sang Qiao said word by word: “Drive Jiaojiao out of the Sang Family and make her return to her true self.”

Hearing this, Sang Shen’s face turned sour, he forced a smile, “Qiaoqiao, that’s not possible. Jiaojiao has done a lot for us; she’s already a part of our family.”

“But… if you’re willing to co back, Jiaojiao will definitely make room for you, and we can redecorate your room for you, okay?”

“I certainly don’t want soone else’s trash. I gave you the chance, and you blew it, so don’t think about making it up to . I don’t need it.”

Sang Qiao’s palm-sized face was radiant, a smile hanging from her lips, yet her deanor rejected others from miles away.

“Qiaoqiao, I can agree to anything except this. Besides, we haven’t cleared up the matter with L, have we? Don’t be so malicious towards Jiaojiao just yet.”

“Then treat it as an invitation from Sang Jiao for you to leave. You can go now,” Sang Qiao said with a coldness in her clear eyes and a slight curl to her red lips.

It was but a casual probe, and Sang Shen’s response was truly dull, utterly within her expectations.

“Qiaoqiao, don’t be like this. It’s not that I believe Jiaojiao over you. I just don’t want you to harbor such malice towards her. Maybe she only made this one mistake. I’m continuing the investigation to give her closure, not to convict her without proof,” second Brother Sang said, clenching his fists as he spilled his thoughts. Ever since he found out she had gone abroad for dical treatnt because of her weak health, he had been filled with self-reproach.

But Sang Shen never considered that he had never given such closure to Sang Qiao when she was the one under suspicion before.

“Did you go deaf when your cousin told you to scram? What you think is your own business. Why are you spouting it here? Do you also need to inform your cousin if one day you feel like eating shit, so she can help you find it?”

Su Nuanying silently pretended she didn’t exist as she listened to the two argue unabashedly.

At this mont, she was even more incensed by Second Brother Sang’s shaless words.

Sang Shen’s expression was embarrassed as he faced the accusation. His face darkened, “This has nothing to do with you.”

“This is my house. You’re making a racket here. How is this none of my business?” Su Nuanying had always been a little devil, never afraid to confront anyone.

“You! Do your parents know about your behavior?” Sang Shen was angered.

“What, you want to tattle? Go ahead. He only cos back a few tis a year anyway. If he tries to hit , I’ll just smash in your door and slap that so-called Jiaojiao a few tis!”

Su Nuanying scoffed. She was capricious and protective. Since she had started treating her cousin like her own kin, she had unconditionally stood by her side.

Whether that so-called Jiaojiao was a good catch or not, she didn’t know, but this Second Brother Sang certainly wasn’t!

“Pfft.” Sang Qiao couldn’t help but laugh out loud for the first ti witnessing Xingxing’s “confrontation”.

“Cousin, you’re laughing. If my dad really cos back and hits , you have to protect .” Su Nuanying blinked her eyes, looking extrely frail and helpless.

Sang Qiao curved her lips into a smile, “Okay.”

Sang Shen felt like an outsider, excluded by their back and forth. He took a deep breath, “I have more dignity than that. Qiaoqiao, I’m going back today.”

After Sang Shen stord off, Su Nuanying felt a surge of pride, “Cousin, if he cos to bully you again, just tell . I’ll take care of it for you.”

“Got it.” Sang Qiao chuckled softly. Was this what unconditional support felt like?

“Cousin, you’re starting on the set tomorrow. Aren’t you afraid sothing might happen to your brother while he’s looking for L? Why don’t you go with him and clear this up, so that so-called Jiaojiao doesn’t succeed with her sches?”

Su Nuanying asked anxiously, knowing that it mattered where Jiaojiao stood in the Sang Family.

“There won’t be any accidents,” Sang Qiao replied lazily.

“Alright.” Seeing Sang Qiao’s confident deanor, Su Nuanying didn’t insist further.
