Si Tiantian found the stories a few aunts were telling rather dull. She much preferred the kind from yesterday, even if it was a bit scary.
“Those kinds of stories aren’t really suitable for kids.”
“I’m not a little kid anymore, I’m a big friend who can listen.”
Si Tiantian wasn’t about to be dissuaded by their words. She wasn’t a fool anymore; she could clearly sense the change in the aunts.
Just yesterday, there was no “not suitable for children,” and they were quite enthusiastic. But today, they suddenly refused to continue. Coupled with her father’s abnormal behavior that morning, she quickly guessed the reason.
“Is it my dad who told you not to tell those stories?”

“I’m bored. When are you finishing work? I don’t want to stay here anymore. I want to go find mom.” Si Tiantian spoke petulantly.
She thought, if only dad pacifies her and she waits a bit longer, she could casually suggest wanting to hear a horror story, and he would probably agree for the sake of work.
Si Tiantian felt she was imnsely clever, having learned this tactic from other children, though she hadn’t tried it on adults before.
Mr. Si Chenli’s pen paused at her words, and he glanced at her. “Are you sure?”
“Yes! I just don’t want to stay at your company anymore. You never play with , unless…”
“Alright, I get it, just wait.” Mr. Si Chenli didn’t let the little one finish, grabbing his phone from the desk and dialing Sang Qiao’s number.
The call connected quickly, and Mr. Si Chenli went straight to the point: “Qiaoqiao, are you at the company? Tiantian’s making a fuss about finding you. I’m about done with the contract here, so I’ll bring her over, and we can go ho together.”
From the screen, Sang Qiao’s voice held a hint of confusion, “I’m at the office. Are you sure Tiantian is making a fuss to find ?”
“Yeah, she said she doesn’t want to stay here anymore, asking to take her to you.”
“How about you hand her the phone, so I can ask her what’s up? She’s never made a fuss like this before—she’s usually very good.”
“She’s fussing right now, and sobody is already coddling her; she might not be able to talk on the phone. She’s about to run out the door already. I’ll bring her over.”
“Okay, then bring her here.”
Mr. Si Chenli hung up the phone and couldn’t help but slightly curl his lips.
Si Tiantian witnessed her father’s deceit and her eyes widened, “I wasn’t fussing like you said. You’re slandering .”
“Didn’t you want to find your mom? Without exaggerating a little, how could I convince her?”
Mr. Si Chenli chuckled, not feeling the least uncomfortable about his fib. He gathered his docunts from the desk, grabbed his phone and walked around to Tiantian.
Extending his hand, he signaled his daughter to grab it. “Co on, let’s go find Qiaoqiao.”
Si Tiantian could only clasp her father’s hand, feeling things hadn’t gone as she had imagined. How could her father give in so easily?
But she had started the fuss, and now it didn’t seem right to back down.
They had just left the elevator when they bumped into the assistant who was about to head upstairs. “Mr. Si, where are you going? A collaborator is set to arrive soon; it was prearranged. Isn’t it inappropriate for you to leave just like this?”
“Delay that, or reschedule it for tomorrow; I have an ergency and need to leave now.”
Mr. Si Chenli slightly frowned, not understanding why there was always so much to handle in the company all day every day.
“But it was prearranged; you can’t just cancel. If you stand them up, it might affect the Si Family’s reputation.”
The assistant wanted to persuade him further, especially since the visitor belonged to the Shangguan Family. They had co from far away, and standing them up would likely cause an uproar.
Ever since Mr. Si had returned to the company facing down others, he seed increasingly negligent of business matters.
“Dad, I won’t make a fuss anymore. You handle your eting first. It’s wrong to stand soone up,” Si Tiantian looked up at her father and gently coaxed him.
Her little milky voice was sweet, and she spoke with the earnestness of an adult soothing a child.
The assistant on the side inwardly marveled; this little girl was even more “sensible” than Mr. Si!
“Yeah, Mr. Si, you can just wait. They’ll be here in five minutes. The conversation won’t last more than half an hour; it won’t delay you much.”
