Father Si was lost for words, but he was also clear that what his father said was the truth. There was no coming back from that!

"..."

It was fine as long as Sang Qiao was taken good care of.

Furthermore, as long as his mother and wife were happy, it didn’t matter if the two grown n led miserable lives.

At Sang Qiao’s villa, the living room was bustling. Mrs. Si attended to Sang Qiao throughout, peeling shrimp for her, picking dishes for her.

Just like Si Chenli careful and serious while caring for Sang Qiao, Mrs. Si was busy with her hands but still managed to find ti to chat with Ah He.

ng Jiahe watched Mrs. Si’s gentle yet powerful manner of speaking and aspired to be like her.

Mrs. Si must have been a beautiful and articulate girl in her youth.

The conversation at the dinner table was lively.

On the sofa nearby, Old Madam Si, hearing the unanswered female voice, couldn’t help but frown, "Ah Li, this child, went to sign so contract and isn’t even picking up his phone."

"I don’t know, he said the place was quite far." Sang Qiao hadn’t asked in detail that day.

She thought it was just like before, handling an ordinary contract, although this ti he had been gone for more days, she hadn’t expected him to go completely unreachable.

Had she known, she would have asked more thoroughly at the ti.

"I’ll have soone from the Si Family check later." Mrs. Si also had a vague feeling that sothing was not right. Even if he was signing a contract, it couldn’t be possible to skip als; it was quite late now.

Just after hearing that Sang Qiao had been at the gynecologist for a checkup, she had ssaged her son, but there had been no reply until now.

Usually, any news concerning Qiaoqiao would get a quick reply from Ah Li, even if he was busy; he would put his work aside first.

"Yes, ask about it later." Old Madam Si agreed.

After dinner,

Shangguan Yuan personally took ng Jiahe ho. The Si Family also went to their respective rooms to rest, with Mrs. Si specifically choosing the room next to Sang Qiao.

This way, if Qiaoqiao needed her at night, she could hear her in ti.

"Qiaoqiao, get so rest early. I’ll ask at the office about Ah Li’s situation tomorrow. Don’t worry, it should be okay. Work can sotis get too hectic."

"Alright." Sang Qiao smiled lightly, nodding her head and restraining her worries.

She could only hope that Ah Li was too busy, hence he couldn’t find the ti to reply to ssages or answer calls.

The next day,

In the early morning, Mrs. Si was already out of the house, leaving only Old Madam Si pacing in the living room.

As Old Madam Si heard footsteps, she turned around and saw Sang Qiao.

With a kind face, "Qiaoqiao, you’re awake. Co have breakfast. Are you going to the office today?"

"Yes, I am. My health is just about the sa as before, it’s no trouble. Grandma, you don’t have to wait for next ti; you can eat first."

Sang Qiao replied softly while her hands busied themselves tidying up the utensils.

"Okay, I’m not hungry, just used to waking up early." Old Madam Si sat at the dining table, her heart filled with worry and sadness, unsure of Ah Li’s current situation.

It had been three days since he went missing. This morning’s phone call went straight to a turned-off notification, which made her increasingly worried.

"Alright." Before having breakfast, Sang Qiao subconsciously glanced at her phone, still no ssages from Si Chenli.

She planned to ask Shangguan Yuan to look into it later.

Perhaps because of the urgency of matters that needed handling outside, Sang Qiao ate only a few bites and hurriedly left the house.

Her driver dropped her off at the entrance of Rose Entertainnt. Sang Qiao initially wanted to rush upstairs, but rembering the baby in her belly, her steps unconsciously slowed down.

She gently touched her flat belly, then let her hand fall, quickly dismissing the chaotic thoughts in her mind and headed upstairs.

She arrived earlier today, the majority of the staff hadn’t started their work hours yet, including Shangguan Yuan.

Sang Qiao had to go back to her office and call him first.

When the call connected, Shangguan Yuan’s voice ca through, faintly accompanied by the sound of pots and pans clattering, "Hello, Qiaoqiao, it’s early in the morning, is there sothing you need?"

"Si Chenli has been missing for three days. Don’t co to the office later, just go straight to help look for him."

"Alright, I understand. I’ll head out after I’ve made breakfast for Ah He. Don’t rush, and take care of your emotions for the baby’s sake."

On the other end of the line, Shangguan Yuan imdiately dropped his casual tone, adopting a serious deanor.

"It’s okay, it won’t make a difference in a little while, finish eating and then go check slowly." Sang Qiao was anxious, but she understood that locating Si Chenli’s whereabouts couldn’t be done in an hour or half.

Mrs. Si was likely at the Si Family’s place this morning. If there was any good news, she would surely let Sang Qiao know first to ease her mind.

But there had been no ssage from her until now, indicating the situation might be bleak.

"Alright."

After hanging up, Sang Qiao unconsciously clicked into her chat with Si Chenli, most of which were his ssages expressing his care for her, and even her occasional ssages to him were promptly responded to.

Only this ti, he was unreachable.

"Knock, knock." The door suddenly received two knocks followed by Chen Ling’s voice, "Sister Qiao, I heard you ca to the office early today. Have you eaten breakfast?"

"I have eaten, co in." Sang Qiao responded, placing her phone aside.

She had no interest in dealing with the unfinished work on her computer.

"No, no, I was just asking. I won’t disturb you; I have a schedule to prepare for, I’ll go ahead." Chen Ling repeatedly spoke.

"Alright." Sang Qiao didn’t insist. She sat in her office chair, her gaze falling on the transparent glass behind her, watching the relentless flow of vehicles and the towering skyscrapers.

She just quietly watched as ti slowly passed by.

Mrs. Si had not called, and there was no news from Shangguan Yuan’s end either. After giving up her familial ties, this was the first ti she felt so helpless.

She thought that once she stopped caring about the Sang Family, she wouldn’t experience any significant emotional fluctuations.

She had not anticipated that Si Chenli would go missing, especially on the second day of their marriage.

Just as Sang Qiao was imrsed in her thoughts, her phone suddenly blared a high-pitched ringtone, "Ring, ring, ring—"

She reached for it and saw "Mrs. Si" displayed on the screen.

Just as the call connected, she heard Mrs. Si’s voice, accompanied by sobs, "Qiaoqiao, where are you right now? Ah Li... he might have had an accident."

"What happened?" Sang Qiao’s fingertips tightened unconsciously around the phone.

"It seems like his office suddenly caught fire, with severe casualties. He happened to forget his phone at ho that day, so although we could still dial his number, no one answered."

Mrs. Si spoke all this in one breath and started crying, gasping for air. She couldn’t bear the thought of the potential of burying her own child...

Just the thought made her cry unbearably, her chest tight, struggling to breathe.

"Has Ah Li been found?" Sang Qiao tried to remain as calm as possible.
