“Alright, then I’m off.” ng Jiahe was encouraged by that smile, feeling even more empowered.
“Mhm.” Sang Qiao nodded, watching her silhouette leave the office.

ng Family
ng Jiahe entered and looked at the unchanged decorations, feeling an overwhelming sense of strangeness. This place was never her ho, just sowhere she could occasionally stay.
When she ca in, Elder Mrs. ng naturally saw her and, unable to contain her anger, stood up from the sofa and pointed at ng Jiahe’s nose, cursing loudly.
“How many calls have I made to you these past few days, how many ssages have I sent, why didn’t you reply? Doing it on purpose, aren’t you, afraid that your sister would live a good life?”
ng Jiahe ignored Elder Mrs. ng and turned her gaze to her mother, who was sitting still on the sofa.
“I want to transfer my household registration.”
Hearing this, Mrs. ng’s face instantly changed, her tone displeased.
“What are you saying? You’ve only known that man for so long and you want to marry him, are you sure he will treat you well for a lifeti?”
“I’m not at the stage of getting married to him; I want to transfer my registration to Dad’s.”
ng Jiahe’s words undoubtedly ignited the fuse in Mrs. ng’s heart.
“What do you an, do you think I haven’t treated you as well as your father? For all these years, who has provided for you, raised you with hardship? If it were your father, would he care for you? He didn’t even want you to attend high school!”
“Yes, Dad isn’t good; he has a son now and doesn’t want to provide for his daughter. But, Grandmother won’t point at my nose and scold , forcing to do things I don’t want to do!”
ng Jiahe’s hands uncontrollably clenched into fists, her whole body shaking with anger.
She hated Elder Mrs. ng to death; sotis she even wanted to act without any decency, but because of her mother, she endured.
She had endured for so many years, she felt aggrieved; nobody likes to be pointed at and ridiculed at will.
“You… She didn’t force you to do anything, she just wanted you and your sister to have more contact.”
“If she wasn’t forcing , why keep sending ssages all the ti? Not replying to one already ans refusal; isn’t it rude to bombard soone, doesn’t she know that?”
ng Jiahe scoffed coldly, pointing her finger directly at Elder Mrs. ng nearby.
Elder Mrs. ng’s face darkened, “You little beast dare to point at ! You eat from our house, wear from our house; what’s wrong with paving a little way for Wange?”
“ng Jiahe, is this how I usually teach you? How can you be so ill-mannered, what kind of behavior is this, apologize to Mom right now.”
“If you don’t agree to move my registration back to Dad’s, I will sue you. I’m an adult; I have the right to choose who I want to live with.”
ng Jiahe shifted her gaze away from looking into Mrs. ng’s eyes; Mrs. ng loved her, but that love was too scarce, too neglectful.
She even had no way to protect her in this house.
“You!” Mrs. ng was so angry her face turned ashen, “Fine, then get out; I would love to see what kind of good thing your father is, and just how long that rich boyfriend of yours will stay with you!”
“Mhm, I rember very clearly every penny the ng Family and you have given over the years, as well as the number of days I’ve stayed, every al I’ve eaten; I’ll repay you according to hotel prices.”
ng Jiahe left these words behind, turned around, and walked away, with no intention to stay any longer.
“You little slut, now that you’ve made it big, you want to sever ties like this? I won’t agree. Either give your boyfriend to Wange or share half of your Rose Entertainnt stocks with Wange!”
How could Elder Mrs. ng let ng Jiahe go so easily?
Hearing these words, ng Jiahe couldn’t help but laugh mockingly. So, there really were people who could be so shaless, never considering how they treated her in the past.
Her mother provided her with a place to live, three als a day to be satisfied; she understood that as soone dependent on others, she would always cooperate and move out whenever Elder Mrs. ng ca over.
If it hadn’t been for Sang Qiao secretly bringing her back to her room to stay temporarily.
Where could she, then still in elentary school, possibly go? Her father’s ho was too far away, and by middle school, she had always lived on campus and never ca back; in high school, she hadn’t taken a cent from her mother ever again.
From the first day she arrived at the ng Family, ng Jiahe had been looking forward to growing up, wanting to escape this place, so she kept a clear record of every cent she used.
She was thankful to her mother for raising her and supporting her until middle school, yet she also couldn’t bring herself to love her mother.
She too wanted a good life, but she would always rember the kindness of being raised and educated; if her mother needed her, she would be there, provided that her mother genuinely needed her help and wasn’t bothering her for soone else’s sake.
“Do we have any relationship? Elder Mrs. ng, don’t forget how you introduce to others.”
Elder Mrs. ng’s face stiffened, and then shalessly said, “Stop bringing up irrelevant things.”
“If Wange really cos to a point where she needs my help, and it’s within my capacity, I will help her, nothing more.”
ng Jiahe left these words behind, glanced back at Elder Mrs. ng, then strode away without looking back.
“You are just afraid that Wange will have a better life than you!”
Elder Mrs. ng’s curses continued intermittently from behind.
ng Jiahe didn’t look back; she walked away from the ng Family without hesitation, feeling a breath of relief, having resolved sothing that had been weighing on her heart for years.
She had just returned to the company, planning to go to her office first to calm herself down.
Then she saw ng Wangge sitting inside, “Sister Ah He, you’re back. I just heard mom say…”
“If you’re here to persuade , don’t bother,” ng Jiahe guessed that this matter would eventually reach ng Wangge’s ears, but hadn’t expected it this soon.
It seed the ng Family was quick indeed. Did they really think a decision she was determined to make could be changed by a few words of persuasion?
“I’m sorry.” ng Wangge had no choice but to draw back her hand, unsure what else to say.
“It’s okay, go back to work.” ng Jiahe’s fingertips slightly retracted; in her life, there had only been two people she had envied and been jealous of—one was the past’s Chen Ling, and the other was ng Wangge.
“Okay, no matter what Grandma says, don’t take it to heart. I don’t need you to pave the way for ; I can work hard myself.”
ng Wangge forced a smile, knowing her grandmother’s words were harsh. She had tried to say a few words in the past, but that was her elder, and she couldn’t speak too rudely.
ng Jiahe said softly, looking downward, “Yeah, keep it up. You should learn more from Chen Ling.”
“I will, you go ahead with your work.” ng Wangge nodded and walked out, acting as if nothing had happened.
“Yeah.” ng Jiahe sat on the couch, her gaze fixed ahead, feeling a sense of irritation within. She wanted to escape from everyone in the ng Family.
But she was destined not to escape from ng Wangge; they would always be in contact, always et.
