ng Jiahe stopped in her tracks, turning her head incredulously to look at Sang Qiao next to her. What was she thinking!
However, considering that today was a montous occasion, she suppressed her irritation and forced a smile. “Shangguan Yuan and I are pure and simple, falling in love is out of the question!”
Sang Qiao silently withdrew her gaze and looked down at the flight of stairs decorated with colorful stickers, each adorned with drawings and words.

After leading everyone upstairs, ng Jiahe stationed herself in a corner to serve as a human backdrop.
Dressed in a brand new black suit, the sound of his polished shoes echoed as Si Chenli stepped forward toward Sang Qiao.
“This marks the first three hundred sixty-five days of us being together. Let’s go upstairs,” he said.
Si Chenli extended his hand, beckoning her to place hers in it, with a faint smile tugging at his lips.
“Okay,” Sang Qiao nodded and placed her hand in the man’s palm, surprised that Si Chenli had rembered the date so vividly.
He led her upstairs to a restaurant with all-around glass walls, offering a crystal clear view of the surrounding scenery, including the setting sun casting a faint pink hue across the sky.
At their table, an array of dishes was already laid out, with a side table piled high with gift boxes.
“Let’s eat first, and afterward, you can open the presents I’ve got for you.”
“I didn’t prepare anything for you,” Sang Qiao admitted with a rare hint of embarrassnt. She hadn’t rembered this date at all and was taken aback by the thoughtfulness of Si Chenli’s preparations.
“Having you by my side is the best gift of all,” the man chuckled softly.
“Mhm,” Sang Qiao murmured in agreent, smiling with a twinkle in her eyes. Emotions she had never felt before were now fully experienced with Si Chenli.
A sweet atmosphere enveloped them.
Squatting in the corner outside the door, ng Jiahe and Shangguan Yuan were jostling each other non-stop. “Shangguan Yuan, you’re in my way!”
“Quiet down, or they’ll notice us and we’ll spoil the couple’s romantic mont. I haven’t seen Qiaoqiao in love before,” Shangguan Yuan grumbled, reluctantly shifting to the side.
Now able to see the scene inside, ng Jiahe rested her hands on her chin. “Boss Si made realize sothing—that so people really don’t have to do anything, just by being there, they’re loved.”
“I disagree with that. Qiao has made considerable efforts for Si Chen,” Shangguan Yuan sighed, feeling pity for his brother. Unlike Sang Qiao, who knew to call Si Chen to show concern, his brother had never received a call or a ssage from her.
“That’s because you t Qiaoqiao late. I grew up with her and have seen how she was with the Sang Family’s brother—her complete investnt. You don’t know how fussy Sang Shen was back then. He’d complain to Qiaoqiao about the bad food on set, and she’d deliver homade als to him every day.”

His voice was so loud that it caught the attention of the two who had just finished eating and were now unwrapping gifts, causing them to turn their heads.
Sang Qiao had just half-opened the gift box in her hands and paused, “Shangguan Yuan, you’re here too?”
“… Took a wrong turn, carry on,” Shangguan Yuan said nonchalantly as he turned to leave.
Once he had hurriedly gone off, Sang Qiao lowered her head to continue with the gifts, “So you planned this anniversary when you called Ah He before?”
“Mhm,” Si Chenli watched her unwrapping the gifts with a gentle expression, noting that not all of them had been prepared recently.

After a long gift-unwrapping session, they went up to the private cinema on the fourth floor to watch a movie.
The cheesy love story of the Mary Sue variety was clearly Ah He’s choice. Sang Qiao watched for a while but soon felt drowsy; she leaned against her seat and closed her eyes.
On the big screen, the male and female leads were reconciling and clearing up a misunderstanding.
Si Chenli knew that in the next second, the drama’s protagonists were about to kiss, and ng Jiahe’s plan for himself was to look into Sang Qiao’s eyes with deep affection as this mont was heightened, kiss her, and then propose.
Soon ng Jiahe and the staff would co holding roses, egging her on with cries of “Say yes to him.”
Everything was going according to plan.
As the TV series’ protagonists embraced each other in preparation to kiss,
Si Chenli turned his head too, only to see the girl, fast asleep against the backrest of her chair.

The people outside the room had no idea what was happening inside; the kissing scene marked the grand finale of the drama.
The staff, ng Jiahe, and Shangguan Yuan, following the plan, walked in, each mber of the staff holding a huge bouquet of red roses.
ng Jiahe and Shangguan Yuan’s bouquets, however, included strawberries and cherries, beautifully packaged.
“Say yes to him, say yes to him!”
With a “click,” the lights were turned on.
The screen was now playing the closing credits of the drama.
Several pairs of eyes rested on a groggy Sang Qiao as she opened her eyes, the cries of “Say yes to him” faltering to a stop.
The staff mbers were puzzled: “What the heck just happened… Did she just wake up? So the proposal hasn’t happened yet?”
Shangguan Yuan couldn’t help but double over laughing, “Hahahaha.”
ng Jiahe also slapped her forehead in frustration, feeling exasperated with herself, thinking, Qiaoqiao, why can’t you just be a bit more assertive? It’s like you have an allergy to romance.
Sang Qiao, looking entirely bewildered, stared at the scene before her, then turned her head to look at Si Chenli, “What happened?”
