Chapter 190: Chapter 190: They Humbly Thought about Starting Over in a New Place
Chenli had been caring for Sang Qiao in the hospital room as long as Mrs. Sang had been sitting in the hallway.
Only when a nurse ca to find her did she pretend to be foolish and followed along. She was afraid others would know her regrets, mock what she had previously done.
She knew Sang Qiao’s temperant well; she feared that anything she did now would be too late.
Mrs. Sang feared facing the current situation more than not being forgiven. She dreaded Sang Qiao’s mockery, feared receiving cold looks. Wasn’t she pitiable herself? During her confinent, she didn’t receive Sang Zheng’s care, and her four sons were like blocks of wood, lacking the gentleness she needed.
She didn’t know what she should do now…

Sang Qiao was discharged from the hospital the next day, and Chenli took her straight to the villa.
As she got out of the car, she saw a tall figure standing by the gate of the villa. Sang Siyang wore thin clothes, his fingers red from the cold. He stood there quietly, not intending to converse with the bodyguards, as if waiting didn’t matter how long it took.
When he spotted Sang Qiao, his eyes visibly brightened, and he quickly walked toward her.
“I knew you wouldn’t co ho for the New Year, so here is your New Year’s money. I wish you a happy new year in advance. I’ve also heard about the sisheng fan incident. Don’t worry; he has received the punishnt he deserves.”
“There’s no need; I’ll be going ho.” Sang Qiao glanced at the thick red envelope and didn’t take it.
“Good. Going ho ans you can spend the holiday with Grandpa Sang. If you accept this red envelope, I won’t co back to bother you.”
Sang Siyang gave a slight smile and pushed the red envelope toward her, looking at her, small and warmly dressed. Although the red envelope ca a bit late, it was his way of making up for so many years.
He always rembered the look in her eyes, envious of Sang Jiao receiving a red envelope from their mother.
At that ti, he silently promised himself to give her a red envelope every year, even if he had to earn the money from scratch. But there were a few years when he broke that promise.
Yet, he had always been prepared; he just hadn’t given it to her.
“There’s no need for such aningless gestures.” Sang Qiao frowned slightly, her patience running out.
Sang Siyang’s hand, holding the red envelope, trembled with cold. His brilliant smile remained, as he would not let off anyone who hurt Qiaoqiao.
Similarly, he wanted to make it up to her in every way possible, even if she didn’t want it.
“Then help give it to Grandpa Sang. You said you don’t hate ; passing on an item shouldn’t be hard. I have so matters to attend to and must leave now, so I can’t go back to the Sang Mansion.”
“Okay.” Sang Qiao then casually took it and turned to walk into the villa.
“Qiaoqiao, happy New Year!” Sang Siyang watched her back, his eyes inevitably reddening. He didn’t know how long he had been standing outside the villa, but as soon as it was ti for his flight, he turned and walked away.
The closer it got to the New Year, the heavier the snow fell.
Sang Mansion
It was unusually lively for one day. Except for Sang Nanfeng and Sang Siyang, everyone was there, even the sick Mrs. Sang, who sat on the sofa looking utterly defeated.
In previous years, Sang Qiao always spent New Year’s with ng Jiahe, but this year she wanted to go back and accompany Mr. Sang Senior.
Yet she couldn’t bear to leave ng Jiahe alone, so she casually asked if she would like to join.
Rembering the lesson from what happened to Fu Xing and Su Nuanying, she felt uneasy, “You and Sang Qingran…”
“Don’t worry. Although I like him a bit, I won’t let myself get hurt. Sang Qiao, if I were to be with him, would you mind?”
ng Jiahe mustered all her courage to ask this; there aren’t many people who inspire one to love recklessly in life. She wanted to try, even if it ant failing, so as not to have regrets.
Sang Qingran and Sang Qiao’s misunderstanding had already been cleared up, and Sang Qingran no longer harbored any prejudice against her.
“I don’t mind, who you’re with is your own business, I won’t restrict you,” Sang Qiao said indifferently, not one to intrude too much on her friends’ affairs.
Only if soone intended to harm her friend would she try to persuade them.
Likewise, their relationship was not sothing friends could ddle in.
“Sure, I won’t make things difficult for you,” ng Jiahe said with a smile.
“Let’s go, co back to the old house with , we can share a room,” Sang Qiao murmured softly.
Hearing the latter statent, ng Jiahe couldn’t help but laugh louder, “Okay, okay, okay.”
When the two returned to the old house, the living room was filled with people, giving the empty mansion a bit of liveliness.
Mr. Sang Senior bead with joy, “Jiahe is here too, please take a seat.”
“Happy New Year, Grandpa Sang!”
“Joy for everyone.”
“This is from Sang Siyang,” Sang Qiao said as she pulled out the thick red envelope from her bag and placed it on the table.
Those sitting around who had been minding their own business couldn’t help but sneak peeks at the red envelope.
They all shared the sa thought, that Sang Siyang was quite shrewd, using this tactic to interact with Qiaoqiao.
Mr. Sang Senior cast a glance at the hefty red envelope and could guess what it was about; he knew it wasn’t really for an old man like him.
“You keep it, I have no use for money.”
“I don’t want it,” Sang Qiao said, sitting next to the old man, without giving the red envelope another glance.
With a smile still on his face, Sang Zheng attempted to reach for the red envelope, “If you guys don’t want it, just give it to ; that rascal Siyang has never given anything.”
“Put it down,” Mr. Sang Senior scolded sharply, looking at his disappointing son with a mix of anger and frustration.
Reluctantly, Sang Zheng let go. Currently, he held no position in the company, with only a ager dividend each year that barely mattered to him.
He then tried to ingratiate himself with Sang Qiao, “Qiaoqiao, you’ve been upset for so long, and another New Year has passed, when do you plan on coming ho?”
“I’ve said it before, I will never return to that ho again,” Sang Qiao responded coldly.
Bringing up such a subject on this occasion undoubtedly made the atmosphere awkward.
Mrs. Sang, overhearing their conversation, recalled sothing and her expression stiffened. It was she who had initially feared Sang Qiao’s return, even saying harsh words that prompted Sang Qiao to declare she would never co back.
With the tips of her fingers wrapped around her knees going white, Mrs. Sang’s voice was both light and soft, “Don’t take the past to heart, that will always be your ho, your safe harbor.”
“Yes, yes, your mother has realized her mistake, and we all hope you can co back,” Sang Zheng chid in quickly, unable to bear the thought of not having any power. He wanted to be part of the managent and to make money.
Sang Shen’s throat suddenly felt incredibly dry, and his eyes reddened, not daring to urge her.
He knew Sang Qiao’s ruthless heart all too well; she would not return to that ho, a place filled with unbearable and painful mories.
“Why don’t we change hos? Didn’t Qiaoqiao use to like North Street? How about we find a villa nearby and redecorate it? What do you think?”
“Right, it’s a nice area, close to the beach, perfect for enjoying the view.”
Mrs. Sang caught on to Sang Shen’s implied aning. By moving their family to a new place, they could start fresh and give Sang Qiao an opportunity to forgive and heal.
