Chapter 22

Yu Fei, who was standing outside the door, felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her body shook and her heart seed to be stabbed by sothing. It was so painful that her face turned pale.

In the ward, Yu Yuanyuan cried, “Dad, you’re too biased. You always side with Sister. I’m your daughter too!”

Yu Fei could not stand it anymore. She pushed the door open.

Everyone in the ward looked at the door in unison.

“Little Fei, you’ve co,” Mr. Yu said happily when he saw his daughter, a smile on his sick face.

Yu Xuanji was stunned for a mont, but the next mont, a fake smile appeared on her face and she called out enthusiastically, “Sister, we were just talking to Dad about you, and now you’re here.”

Yu Fei did not even look at her. Instead, she walked to Gu Yanzhi. The man in front of her was still as gentle as jade. He had a scholarly air about him, like a handso scholar from ancient tis. He was still wearing the white shirt that she liked, and there was a faint smile on his handso face as he looked at her with a calm and gentle expression. He spoke very calmly, as if they were just ordinary friends.

At that mont, Yu Fei was in a daze. Her thoughts were pulled back to four years ago. She had first t him on a sunny sumr day. He was wearing a white shirt, clean and gentle. Standing under the shade of a tree to avoid the heat, he had a gentle smile. He was a gentle senior that many girls admired, while she was just a freshman who had just entered the school. She had helped soone send a love letter to him, and he accepted it with a smile. He looked at her tenderly and asked, “Is this a love letter you wrote to or soone else’s?”

She was stunned and replied shyly, “Senior, don’t misunderstand. I didn’t write it.”

“Oh,” he replied, seemingly a little disappointed. “Then I won’t read it.”

She was stunned, and when she looked up, she t his gentle eyes, and her heart instantly raced. “Senior…”

The handso and gentle teenager’s expression suddenly changed as he looked straight at her. “I’ve been waiting for your love letter for a long ti. Rember to write one when you’re free.”

Four years had passed, but Yu Fei realized that the scene was still vivid in her mind. It was so clear that it seed to have happened yesterday. However, the reality was that the young man she had once liked, the man who had said that he would only like her in his life, was now holding his sister’s hand. The two of them interlocked their fingers and were extrely intimate…

Yu Yuanyuan noticed that Yu Fei was looking at him, so she leaned against Gu Yanzhi and hugged his arm. She raised her chin slightly and said with a provocative expression, “Sister, Yanzhi and I are getting engaged next month. You’ll give us your blessings, right?”

Yu Fei ignored her and looked at Gu Yanyan with a blank expression.

“Are you really with Yu Yuanyuan?” she asked calmly.

Gu Yanzhi hesitated for a mont and looked at her with a deeper gaze, as if he was trying to find out her true thoughts. After a while, he nodded and said, “Yes, we’re together.”

“Ha… When did that happen?” Yu Fei laughed at herself.

“Two months ago,” Gu Yanzhi replied.

Two months? She wanted to laugh even more, and a wave of sadness gushed out of her heart. He and Yu Yuanyuan had only known each other for two months and they were already getting engaged?

The two of them had been together for so long, yet they had not reached the stage of engagent. How ironic!

“Although I haven’t known Yanzhi for a long ti, we are truly in love. I hope that you can let go of the past and give us your blessings. Family’s wishes are very important to us,” Yu Yuanyuan said shalessly. “Sister, you are the most important family mber to . I’ll feel uneasy if I don’t get your blessing.”

“Then you can continue to feel uneasy. Also, don’t treat as your most important family mber in the future. It’s disgusting to hear,” Yu Fei said without holding back.

“Brother Yanzhi, Sister, she…” Yu Xuanji’s face darkened. She blinked her big eyes pitifully and squeezed out two drops of tears. She pounced into Gu Yanzhi’s arms with a scrunched-up face.

“I knew that Sister would definitely mind, but I really didn’t do it on purpose. I’m so sad… I’m the one who let Sister down, sob…” She sobbed as she spoke, her body trembling as if she had been bullied.

Usually, Gu Yanzhi would have coaxed her gently, but he did not do so today. All his attention was taken away by Yu Fei. His warm eyes showed a touch of anger. He pursed his lips and looked at the familiar figure in front of him.

Seeing that Gu Yanzhi’s eyes were on Yu Fei, Yu Yuanyuan bit her lips tightly and felt extrely angry.

“Dad, you can rest in peace. You don’t have to worry about the usury. The money has been obtained.” Yu Fei ignored the two gazes and walked around them to the bed. She took a pillow for her father and put it behind him as she spoke.
