She choked up and started crying: "I now have only you...I can only trust you, please help , I’ll listen to whatever you say, I’ll do whatever you tell ."

"Don’t cry!" Florence’s tone wasn’t very pleasant, there was a heap of ssy things, she looked at a sorrowful Laura in front of her: "Follow ."

Luke ca out and followed behind her.

Florence went to the hotel front desk and arranged a month-long stay for Laura, handing the room card to her: "Soone will take you up."

Laura took it, looking at her with tears in her eyes: "What about after this..."

"I’ll find a way to get your docunts, just stay here peacefully." Florence said.

Laura didn’t want to ask about this, hesitated for a mont, looked at Florence reluctantly, and left with the staff.

"Where are you staying." Luke saw her settle her mom and asked.

"What’s it got to do with you?" She walked out.

Luke clicked his tongue: "Why do you pretend not to know once you’ve pulled up your pants."

The louder voice echoed clearly in the empty hotel lobby.

The staff were vaguely glancing over.

"Insane." Florence cursed, striding away.

Chasing after her, Luke persisted: "Just now you were calling hubby asking for help, now you turn your head and pretend not to know , I don’t even have a place to stay, shouldn’t you arrange sothing for your husband?"

"Extending beyond having our nas together on a piece of paper, what do we possibly have?" Florence now wants to be alone for a while: "Isn’t this a hotel."

She pointed inside the hotel.

Luke just wanted to go with her: " living alone?"

Florence was annoyed: "Live however you want! Just don’t look for , don’t call ! We have nothing to do with each other! Get out of the way!"

The frustration and anger on her face only grew, her gaze cold and disdainful. These words pierced Luke’s heart like arrows, causing a suffocated pain, staring dazedly at Florence’s departing silhouette, his face turning grey.

Florence returned to the car, driving aimlessly, until she realized she was at the entrance of a residential area.

Starlight Residence

A horn honking from behind, the gate security saw her car blocking the entrance, and ca out to ask if she was a resident here.

Florence gave her na and the building she lived in.

The security confird, opened the gate barrier letting her through.

This place wasn’t unfamiliar to Florence, she had co back a few tis over the past three years, easily finding her way to the parking garage, she entered the elevator and took out her phone to check the ti.

She discovered unread ssages from Ethan.

She clicked in, instantly seeing the last sentence.

"I’ve always been here."

Florence’s eyes beca moist, pressed the floor button, and replied.

"Starlight Residence."

He replied quickly:

"Wait for ."

When Ethan pushed open the door, the lights weren’t on inside, faint dim lighting probably ca from outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.

He changed his shoes and went in, imdiately seeing the girl sitting cross-legged by the window.

A small figure, intently looking outside.

"Florence."

The gentle voice touched the heartstrings, Florence gazed at the dazzling cityscape outside the floor-to-ceiling windows: "Pick a bottle of strong liquor for ."

Ethan turned towards the bar area, turned on the lights here, looked at the array of alcohols in the cabinet, choosing carefully.

The sound of pouring alcohol reached her ears, Florence ca back to her senses, seeing a cup already presented in front of her.

Florence took it, the classic cup heavy, the lighting was dim making it hard to see the color of the liquid, she shook it: "Where are the ice cubes."

"In the ice machine, another two minutes."

Three minutes later, Ethan sat down on the floor beside her with an ice bucket.

The cup in Florence’s hand was already empty, he poured her another cup, poured one for himself too.

Florence added two ice cubes inside.

Took a sip with the ice cubes in her mouth, Ethan heard her biting sound cracking crisply.

"You’ve been here before." Not a question, but a confirmation.

"Flew straight from France to Cloudsea, stayed here the night I arrived, followed you to Cloudsea, I ca a few days ago to clean up here again."

"In the three years you left, I seldom ca, but since you returned, I haven’t been back." Florence took another sip of alcohol.

The strong liquor coursed through her throat, spicy and stimulating, yet sohow inducing comfort.

What is this place?

Sowhat theirs, hers and Ethan’s ho back then?

Upon returning to the Fuller Family, her position negligible, all centered around Clara, Clara’s eighteenth birthday party lavishly held, Cloudsea’s notable figures were all present, she had an extravagant birthday, stealing the spotlight, afterward Laura and Michael realized she turned eighteen that year too.

So out of guilt, they asked what she wanted for her birthday.

Want to hold a banquet?

Florence said: "I want a house."

Such an easily granted wish, Michael and Laura imdiately agreed.

But they didn’t expect, Florence asked for the most expensive and largest house in Cloudsea.

Cloudsea’s best central location, the floor with the best view.

Nearly a billion.

This house.

Michael and Laura begrudgingly spent money to buy her this house.

While Ethan’s mother Abigail gifted her an entire set of sapphire jewelry.

Crown, earrings, necklace, rings...

Valued over tens of billions.

At the ti, seeing that set of sapphire jewels, the gems big and striking, the cut design exquisite and unique, enhanced with diamond embellishnts, luxurious and refined, invaluable, she didn’t dare to accept.

But Abigail said it was voluntarily given, even had docunts for proof ready to handle over to her.

She dared not, Ethan accepted on her behalf.

Locked it in her safety deposit box.

On the day the house deed was obtained, she couldn’t wait to drag Ethan over to visit her ho.

In the days that followed, the two filled this place with life.

The cup in her hand emptied again, Florence put down the cup, making a crisp sound on the floor, she turned to search for the bottle, finding it was over by Ethan.

Ethan handed his own cup to her, picked up her empty cup from the floor, slowly refilled it, upon turning to see it, he had only sipped a mouthful, now Florence gulped down the remaining half.

"Cough, cough, cough!" Choking, she covered her mouth and coughed twice.

Ethan handed over a tissue: "You’ll be drunk on this bottle alone."

Now it was almost half.

Florence’s eyes watered from coughing: "Three years, how do you know my tolerance hasn’t increased."

Ethan was silent for a mont, asked: "Has it increased?"

"You’ll find out soon enough." Her tone was sowhat teasing, Ethan slowly took a sip.

On Florence’s eighteenth birthday night, booked a private room at the bar, ordered a lot of alcohol.

Ethan accompanied her.

She had drunk before but not hard spirits, she wanted Ethan to drink with her, Ethan didn’t agree, he ordered a glass of plain water.
