"Just say I was the one who found you." Florence Fuller replied to his ssage, pondering for a mont, "Forget it, just wait a bit."

"You take care of yourself too." Christopher Fuller didn’t really know Florence, but he knew that the girl had built a design company into a public entity in SJ within three years, so she must have so capability.

This ti it seems like a bit of talent being wasted.

Florence: "Has the news that Jas Fuller is an illegitimate child ever been leaked?"

Christopher: "How could it be leaked? Your dad never admitted it publicly; he’s probably thinking about how to handle this situation too."

Florence fell into deep thought. If it cos out, people will only think it’s a malicious rumor...

"Have you investigated Jas Fuller’s mother?"

Christopher Fuller: "Yes, she’s a wealthy lady, living even more glamorously than your mom now."

Florence frowned, the more she thought, the more upset she beca.

Michael Fuller used her marriage to secure benefits for the Gardiner Family, promising her her inheritance verbally, but actually paving the way for his illegitimate son.

Since her marriage, Jas Fuller has been in the company and now he’s the executive director.

And her? Left with nothing.

How could she swallow this indignity?

Florence waited for more than ten minutes, knocked on the director’s office door again, and walked in with a smile: "Director, are you still busy?"

Sophia Johnson displayed an annoyed expression: "Did I ask you to co in?"

Florence blinked, closed the door, and left.

As the end of work approached, the manager ca to her desk again: "The director asked you to wait, why did you co down?"

Florence packed up her things: "Wasn’t she busy?"

"Even if she’s busy, you have to wait." The manager frowned: "Go up quickly."

Florence took her bag, went to the ti clock, punched out with a ding, and waved her card at the manager: "Sorry manager, I’m off work."

Then she turned around and left decisively.

Manager: "..."

Everyone: "..."

Warrior.

During the peak traffic hours after work, caught in a traffic jam, at the red light, Ethan Harper’s call ca in.

"Haven’t seen you for a few days, you went back to Cloudsea City."

"Yeah."

Ethan was silent for a mont: "I just ca out from the airport, where are you? Let’s have dinner together."

"No." Florence rejected quickly: "I’ve been really tired lately, want to rest."

"It’s okay." His voice was as gentle as ever, "Where are you living now?"

The red light turned green, Florence steered the wheel: "Anyway, not where I used to."

Ethan felt a bit hurt: "Maybe soti, we could go back and have a look."

It got quiet over there; Ethan seed to hear the sound of the wind whistling.

"Not really interested in going back."

The call was disconnected.

Ethan caught his breath, holding the phone, feeling a sense of panic creeping on him. He froze in the posture of hanging up, a bit lost on what to do next.

"Sir?" Thomas Jones turned to him, "Going back to Silk Cloud Villa?"

"Not there." His voice was evidently filled with lancholy, "To a hotel."

Thomas nodded, glancing at him again.

He had returned to SJ City for Florence, but now she’s married, and he seed indifferent.

He couldn’t understand what Ethan was thinking.

Perhaps the once gentle and jade-like youth was gone.

The next day was a weekend without work, and Florence planned to go shopping and buy so clothes.

Rarely shopping alone, feeling relaxed and free, she walked into a luxury brand store. The shop assistant ca up at once: "Hello ma’am, anything you need?"

"High heels."

"Follow ."

This luxury store was enormous, spanning three floors of the mall, with clothes, shoes, and bags having everything imaginable. Florence picked out two pairs of shoes and a few outfits, feeling a bit tired, and the assistant led her to the rest area to take a break. Just as they arrived, she spotted a familiar face.

"Sorry Ms. Yates, we tried this card, and the account is frozen."

"Impossible... Try this one again..." Laura Yates was visibly flustered, hastily rummaging through her bag for another card.

She handed over a card, perceiving sothing, then saw Florence.

Florence turned her head, sitting opposite her as directed by the assistant.

"Ms. Fuller, we have items from our store on this tablet as well. You can browse through and let know if you’d like a closer look at anything."

"Thank you." Florence accepted it.

The assistant brought her snacks, and she accepted without glancing at Laura, though Laura kept looking at her.

"Still doesn’t work, Ms. Yates." The assistant shook her head: "The account is also frozen."

This awkward situation left her feeling utterly embarrassed; she glanced towards Florence, telling the assistant: "I’ll step out to make a call."

Account frozen?

Florence thought about it—could it be Michael’s doing?

She glanced at Laura through the glass door; it was unclear if she completed the call, but her expression looked bad, filled with distress and grievance.

"Co here," Florence waved to the assistant handling Laura, "Put my stuff together with that lady’s and charge it to my card."

The assistant was surprised at such generosity from a stranger.

The assistant serving Florence advised: "Ms. Fuller, her items aren’t cheap, tens of thousands."

"Charge it." Florence handed over her card, "Please have my purchases delivered to where I parked."

The assistant processed the paynt with the card.

Florence left her contact information along with the address then left as Laura returned after her call, the two passing by each other.

Florence didn’t stop at all, but Laura looked at her back, growing increasingly angry.

She was her mother, yet they t face-to-face, and Florence didn’t even acknowledge her.

Laura picked up her bag, lowering her head: "I may not be able to take those things."

The assistant ca over with the packaged bags: "The lady earlier has already taken care of your bill; you can take them."

Laura was taken aback, looking at the assistant: "Paid for?"

"Yes."

Looking at the items packed before her, after a wave of mixed emotions, she felt a regretful heart.

In the underground parking lot.

Florence carried her spoils to her car space. The staff had already delivered her purchases next to her car spot. Florence checked them, and as soon as she opened her car door, a voice ca from behind: "Florence."

Caught off guard, Florence was startled, turning with a rather displeased look to see it was Laura Yates: "What do you want?"

Laura hesitated upon eting her gaze, "About what happened in the store earlier, thank you."

Florence nodded, "Alright, I understand."

Then she proceeded to put away her stuff.

Laura approached: "Let help you."
