After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again Chapter 21: Rotten Corpse
The sound of the car door opening.
Laura Yates’s expression darkened imdiately.
Florence Fuller withdrew her body, a look of amusent in her eyes as she gazed at Laura Yates, "Mother, if you’ve made up your mind, you’re welco to co see anyti. If not... there’s no need to make another trip."
The implication was all too clear: co if you’re willing, if not, then don’t co at all.
Such bluntness, Laura Yates bit her lip in anger and looked at Florence Fuller before getting out of the car, "I am still your biological mother."
Florence Fuller showed no sign of emotion, calmly made a gesture to invite her to get out of the car.
Laura Yates got out of the car, slamming the door shut in fury.
Lily Lancaster glanced at Florence Fuller’s expression in the rearview mirror, and the person in the back leaned back against the seat, "Let’s go ho."
That’s got to be her boss.
Crown Grand Hotel, Presidential Suite.
Clara Fuller had been waiting for Laura Yates to return. She was eager to know if Laura Yates had successfully arranged for her to enter Light Films. Hearing movent at the entrance, she ran out, finding Laura Yates changing her shoes.
"Mom."
She stepped forward to take Laura Yates’s bag, noticing her mother’s not-so-good expression, "You must be tired."
Laura Yates smiled wearily, "It’s fine."
Clara Fuller started feeling guilty, looking down, "Maybe I shouldn’t have... asked you to approach my sister like that. Given the way you are treated by her..."
"Clara." Jessica Yates took her hand, "Mom has her own connections. Why don’t you just be obedient and accept the script from Uncle Carter? We can start from being newcors."
"But in Uncle Carter’s script, my role is barely in the fourth female lead with not many lines, and it’s a period drama right out of the gate. I’m afraid. If I screw up, I’ll embarrass you."
She wasn’t just afraid of failing; she simply didn’t want that fourth female role. She wanted her first debut role to be the leading one!
That way, once she’s famous, every drama she stars in would have her as the protagonist. She would be the chosen one in the entertainnt industry.
Laura Yates looked at her lovingly. If only Florence had even a fraction of her understanding, she wouldn’t be so exhausted.
——
"Shocking! DN Dawn Television suspected of a homicide case."
"DN Dawn female anchor suspected of suicide attempt."
"Live broadcast in front of DN Dawn Building."
Florence Fuller had just finished a two-hour-long eting on restructuring, and as soon as she left the eting room, she was hit with such a shocking surprise.
"What’s going on exactly?" she asked as she headed to her office.
"Basically, DN Dawn had undergone a massive reform, and the female anchor of the pri ti slot was the one who attempted suicide. It’s unclear what thod Alia Gordon used, but that female anchor didn’t show up for work on her first day, and Alia Gordon took her place. Until the third day, which is today, while Alia was broadcasting during the pri ti slot, a commotion broke out downstairs at DN Dawn. The female anchor attempted suicide at ho last night but has just escaped danger today."
Florence Fuller took the tablet Lily Lancaster handed her; it was the live video broadcast.
A young man stood ostentatiously in front of the DN Dawn Building, shouting and roaring about the murderous company, unreasonable behavior, feeding off people’s misfortune, and using its power to bully others.
With such a scene, rival companies in SJ City imdiately sent reporters, surrounding the man and probing him continuously. Then, several security personnel ca out, dispersing the reporters and inviting the man inside.
Florence Fuller tossed the tablet aside, letting out a deep sigh.
A bunch of troubleso matters.
"Head to DN Dawn."
Lily Lancaster nodded and went to prepare the car imdiately.
DN Dawn.
Lily Lancaster drove straight to the underground parking, where William Shenton and several executives were already waiting for her.
Seeing Florence Fuller arrive, they quickly and respectfully greeted her, "President Fuller, we’re sorry for this significant incident."
For a company like theirs, which is entertainnt-based, such public opinion could be deadly, let alone involving the word "murder," and DN Dawn’s massive restructuring had only just begun.
"What’s the current status of the online trending topics?" Florence Fuller glanced at William Shenton, asking.
"We’re continuously monitoring, but we can’t imdiately pull back, as doing so could backfire."
Not bad.
"What about the person causing the commotion?"
"In the break room."
The elevator went straight to the floor where DN Dawn is located. Just as the elevator doors opened, a young man with glasses anxiously spoke, "It’s not good, President Shenton, Sister Gordon and that man are arguing."
William Shenton’s expression changed, and he looked at Florence Fuller, "President Fuller, I’ll go handle it."
"Let’s check it out."
President Fuller.
Is this the new boss of DN Dawn? Such a young woman.
The young man thought.
As they slowly approached the work area, the sounds of argunt grew louder, the female voice impatient and piercing, "Her wanting to die has nothing to do with . Stop blaming everything on our broadcast station."
"It’s you!" The man excitedly pointed at her, "My wife attempted suicide because of you. She worked hard at this company for years, finally about to make a breakthrough, and you threatened her not to co."
Alia Gordon sneered, "What evidence do you have?"
"My wife’s phone has your chat records!" The man grew more furious at her indifference, "How can you be so malicious, trying to drive my family out of SJ City!"
Florence Fuller stood in the CEO’s office, taking in the situation below clearly, just as William Shenton had gone down to disperse the crowd gathered to watch the drama, inviting the young man back to the break room.
A call ca on her phone in her bag, she glanced at it, rejected it without hesitation, and continued to observe the situation below.
The workspace, capable of holding dozens of people, now only had stragglers gathered together, whispering among themselves after William Shenton took the man causing the commotion away.
Florence Fuller waited for more than half an hour, and William Shenton returned.
"How did it go? All settled?"
William Shenton nodded, "Mr. Wangford has been temporarily pacified, and I’ve understood the situation, indeed seeing the threatening ssages from Alia Gordon."
"Is she really so audacious here?" Florence Fuller frowned.
William Shenton nodded, not only audacious but flaunting it brazenly.
Florence Fuller seed to understand why Alia Gordon didn’t fear being accused by the man despite having evidence of threatening ssages. Because even if she went in, she could be out in a day, moreover, how could the Gordon Family allow their child to have any blemishes?
The Gordon Family... a corpse that’s outwardly intact but internally rotten.
"Should we involve the police?" William Shenton asked.
Involving the police ant this was no small matter.
"We can," Florence Fuller knew the results might be as expected.
"What about the arrangent on their side for now?" Florence Fuller was referring to the attempted suicide broadcaster.
"I’ve spoken to Mr. Wangford. Her position will be reinstated. Once she recuperates, she can return to the pri ti slot," William Shenton added, "She is a potential stock, just buried under the dust in the company for many years."
"Has the crowd below been cleared out yet?"
