Chapter 206: Hiding a Secret
In the coffee shop, Ben was sitting by the window. When he saw Li Nanchen and Wu i walking hand in hand, he frowned in displeasure.
“Is there any problem with the identities of those people?”
Wu i sat down. Li Nanchen sat beside her possessively and casually placed his hand on the back of her chair as he stared at Ben tauntingly.
Ben pushed the cup of espresso that he had ordered beforehand in front of Wu i as he said sarcastically, “This matter is confidential. It’s probably not good for outsiders to be around, isn’t it?”
Li Nanchen pushed the cup of espresso aside in an exceptionally calm manner before ordering two cups of cappuccino from the waiter. He said lightly, “If I rember correctly, the Ministry of Defense is currently carrying out a mission to protect . As the person involved, am I not qualified to listen to the progress of the mission?”
“Also, Wu i can’t drink bitter things recently. Thank you for your kindness. Don’t waste food next ti,” Li Nanchen said deliberately. Wu i did not expect him to have such a side to him. She shook her head in amusent.
Ben narrowed his eyes and sensed that their relationship had improved as compared to before. Ben then deliberately reminded him, “President Li, you’d better pay attention to your status.”
“Don’t hold up Wu i’s future. I don’t suppose you would want her to be affected because of you, do you?”
The atmosphere between the two was sowhat tense and subtle. Li Nanchen grew slightly impatient and interrogated him in a tone that was filled with belligerence, “Wu i is a Special Agent from the Ministry of Defense and not an accessory to you. Don’t keep being a busybody.”
“You and K should stay away from her and not keep contacting her. Is it a tradition for the Ministry of Defense’s high-ranking officials to harass their subordinates?”
When Ben heard K’s na, he stared at Wu i suspiciously, feeling that sothing was amiss.
Wu i quickly kicked Li Nanchen’s leg lightly under the table, hinting for him to stop talking. She then changed the topic and asked, “Why did you call here?”
Ben handed her the information in his hand as he said with a frown, “There’s no problem with the identities of the people who ca in from overseas. They’re all ordinary businessn.”
Wu i casually flipped through a few docunts. She kept feeling that sothing was amiss, but she couldn’t put her finger on it.
In the Li Family’s villa, Li Nanchen and Wu i had just returned ho when he grabbed her wrist and brought her to the bedroom. He then slamd the door shut.
“What are you hiding from ?”
Li Nanchen leaned closer to Wu i and stared into her eyes as he asked, “What’s your relationship with K?”
“Do we still have secrets between us?”
“No matter what it is, as long as you’re willing to tell , I can help you! Wu i, can you place your trust in ?”
Li Nanchen had a knot in his heart with regard to K. Although Wu i knew that, now was not the ti to talk. She could only raise her hands to wrap them around Li Nanchen’s neck as she gently coaxed him, “I’ll clear things up with you, but not right now.”
“Can you wait till I’m done?”
Seeing Wu i’s watery eyes, Li Nanchen’s heart, which had beco resolute after much difficulty, lted into a puddle again. He could only sigh and kiss her red lips.
In the Special Agent hotel, Bai Xue recalled Ben’s attitude. Unwilling to give up, she went to find Feng Yue, who was cooped up in the room.
“Are you willing to lose to Wu i? Even if she had a short marriage with Li Nanchen previously, you’re carrying out a mission for the Ministry of Defense now…”
“Wu i and you are both Special Agents and belong to the sa rank. Why are you avoiding her?”
Bai Xue’s words moved Feng Yue a little. That night, Feng Yue packed her luggage and moved back to the villa. As soon as she entered, she saw Wu i sitting in the living room. She said unhappily, “So people are really relaxed when carrying out missions!”
Wu i looked at her in surprise. She then mocked in admiration, “I can’t compare to your thick skin!”
Feng Yue was so angry that she was rendered speechless. She dragged her luggage back to her room and slamd the door shut.
