Jiang Zhixun thought about the birthday gift Zhou Hansheng gave Shen Qingqing.
It was a sketchbook.
Filled with drawings of her in various poses.
Obviously, the drawing skills weren’t as good as Qingqing’s and couldn’t quite capture the essence.
But it conveyed genuine emotion, capturing all the little details of everyday life.
During those four years when Jiang Zhixun was absent, through the small sketchbook, he finally caught a glimpse of what Shen Qingqing was like back then.
Honestly, he did feel quite jealous.
Jealous of how Zhou Hansheng could be by Qingqing’s side for so many years.
But after the jealousy, he felt grateful.
Grateful that soone was there to accompany Qingqing, not letting her be alone in a foreign land.
It wasn’t so bad.
That sketchbook, Jiang Zhixun kept it.
Although it was given by a rival, the person featured was his wife.
He had to keep it, to flip through it from ti to ti.
Shen Qingqing finished work and wasn’t surprised to see Jiang Zhixun.
Seeing him on a bicycle, she teased, "Aren’t you tired? It’s not as convenient as taking the bus."
Jiang Zhixun handed her the cake, "Here, have a snack."
"So thoughtful?"
The man raised his eyebrows, unable to hide his pride.
"Shouldn’t I get a reward?"
Shen Qingqing turned away to eat the small cake, pretending not to hear him.
This guy just knows how to take advantage.
It’s all because he’s spoiled!
Jiang Zhixun persisted, "You can’t give the silent treatnt."
Shen Qingqing’s eyes were pitiful, "Just a bit of silence, and you can’t take it?"
Bringing up a touchy subject made Jiang Zhixun feel a bit guilty.
He quickly tried to redy, "I ran into a rival on the way, got jealous, and now I want you to comfort ."
"Rival?"
Shen Qingqing was confused for a few seconds before realizing who he was talking about.
"Zhou Hansheng didn’t go abroad?"
Zhou Hansheng used to aim for a long-term further study abroad.
It had been a long ti since his wedding, and now that he’s still in Beijing, he’s probably planning to work dostically.
As long as it wasn’t because of her, Shen Qingqing didn’t particularly mind his decision.
Going abroad for further studies or staying to work dostically, either way has its own rits as long as the original intention remains.
"He’s always been talented and learned real skills over the years, so he’ll surely rise steadily."
If Zhou Hansheng weren’t competent, he wouldn’t have had the opportunity for further study.
Jiang Zhixun felt a twinge, "Wife, don’t concern yourself with him."
"Weren’t you the one who ntioned him first? Can’t I make a few comnts?"
Jiang Zhixun was montarily speechless, "Fine."
Shen Qingqing huffed, "You get to say all sorts of things, Jiang Zhixun, why are you so domineering?"
Soone who is usually so rational becos like a young, bewildered teen when it cos to matters of the heart.
Shen Qingqing poked his arm, "Childish."
Jiang Zhixun acknowledged his immaturity but if soone likes his wife and he feels nothing, that’s being too indifferent.
He was in the wrong, and saying more would just get him scolded by his wife.
Jiang Zhixun clumsily changed the topic, "There’s chicken soup at ho, and we’ve made wontons. Anything else you want? We can buy it on the way."
Shen Qingqing gave him an amused look.
"Beijing is pretty big, but I think you and him are fated to et, you’ll probably run into each other often."
If he gets jealous every ti, he’d drown in his own jealousy.
Besides, Zhou Hansheng is married; clinging to the past just causes unnecessary trouble.
Jiang Zhixun said, "If you coax , I won’t be jealous."
Shen Qingqing replied, "You keep brewing vinegar, and next ti we make dumplings, we’ll save money. How great!"
Her words amused Jiang Zhixun, making him grin uncontrollably.
Finally, he patted Shen Qingqing’s head, "No one can take you away from ."
"Can’t you just talk normally without touching?"
Shen Qingqing quickly looked around.
Although students were on break, so teachers and security staff were still around the school...
If soone saw, it would be quite embarrassing.
"It’s not like we’re doing sothing wrong."
Shen Qingqing glared at him, "I’m not like you, so shaless!"
Halfway through her small cake, Shen Qingqing fed the rest to Jiang Zhixun.
Even if it was sothing she had already bitten, Jiang Zhixun didn’t mind.
He happily ate it.
To him, his wife caring for him was a sign of love!
After working most of the day, Shen Qingqing was tired and hungry, but after the small cake, she regained much of her energy.
Sitting on the back seat of the bicycle, "A little ride feels nice."
Jiang Zhixun thought the sa.
The weather was just too hot, and this was the perfect ti for a ride.
He put thoughts of the rival behind him.
He grabbed Shen Qingqing’s hand, letting her wrap her arms around his waist.
"Hold on tight, don’t fall."
"Okay."
Shen Qingqing obediently held onto him, resting her head against Jiang Zhixun’s back, feeling totally relaxed.
Jiang Zhixun was a skilled cyclist.
Be it sothing flying in the sky or running on the ground, he could handle it all with ease.
Shen Qingqing didn’t feel a single bump, just the refreshing breeze brushing her face.
If the bike went faster, the wind would be stronger.
More thrilling.
Leaning back leisurely, Shen Qingqing enjoyed the ride’s fun.
She poked the man’s waist, "Go faster."
Jiang Zhixun: "..."
Suddenly being poked.
Her words overlapped with certain ambiguous scenes.
If it weren’t for his strong willpower, he would’ve definitely toppled over!
One hand held the bicycle handle, while the other pinched Shen Qingqing’s wrist.
"Watch your words."
Shen Qingqing imdiately understood his implication.
Feeling irritated, she pinched Jiang Zhixun’s waist, "Pervert!"
Jiang Zhixun turned his head, quickly glancing at her.
Said in a grievance, "I rember everything you say, isn’t it normal to think of them now?"
Shen Qingqing’s face turned red, "Normal my foot!"
What decent person always turns conversations that way?
Speaking, Jiang Zhixun sped up.
The scenery on both sides quickly receded, and Shen Qingqing, in good spirits, didn’t fuss over the trivial things anymore.
"When you retire, still pick up like this."
Jiang Zhixun nodded, "If you retire early, you can co pick up."
Shen Qingqing: "I can’t carry you."
Jiang Zhixun: "I’ll carry you."
Shen Qingqing: "In that case, you might as well head ho by yourself."
"It’s not the sa."
Shen Qingqing asked, "How is it different?"
"In every way."
Imagining his wife picking him up from work, Jiang Zhixun instinctively straightened his back.
Looking smug, "Getting picked up by my wife ans I’m spoiled at ho."
Shen Qingqing couldn’t help but laugh.
"Jiang Zhixun, you are truly childish!"
"Is being childish a cri?"
Shen Qingqing felt embarrassed, "Once we have a child, the kid might be more mature than you."
One thing led to another, the topic of children ca up.
Jiang Zhixun suddenly felt anticipation.
They hadn’t been using contraception, and during the newlywed period, she didn’t conceive, then he went to the Northwest, leaving no chance.
"I’ll give it my best shot." Jiang Zhixun said this.
He had no bad habits, didn’t drink or smoke.
Shen Qingqing found him quite reassuring.
She touched her stomach; having a child would be nice.
That way, there would be soone in the world with her bloodline.
She would love her child like her parents did.
And lead by example, nurturing the child with care as they grew up.
Counting the ti.
Shen Qingqing: "Let’s not rush. It’s more comfortable to have a baby in cooler weather."
Jiang Zhixun found it funny and exasperating, "We’d need to go to the hospital for contraception products, otherwise there might be an accident."
Shen Qingqing thought for a mont, "It’s okay, trying takes ti too."
When they first got married, they didn’t plan on having a baby, and later he went to the Northwest, leaving them no opportunity.
Shen Qingqing felt it was better to let nature take its course.
Jiang Zhixun looked aggrieved, "Wife, I rember everything you say. Isn’t it normal to recall?"
Shen Qingqing’s face turned red, "Normal? Yeah right!"
What kind of decent person turns every topic in that direction?
As they talked, Jiang Zhixun picked up speed.
The scenery on both sides of the road sped by, and feeling good, Shen Qingqing didn’t mind those minor things anymore.
