After returning from the rcer family ho,
Claire rcer was completely out of sorts and feeling incredibly down.
She hadn’t expected divorcing Gavin Sinclair to be this difficult.
’Do I really have to do as the old Mrs. Sinclair said and just focus on how to properly fill my role as Young Madam Sinclair?’
’If I can’t fight it, should I just happily accept it?’
No.
She had never been one to chase after money and power.
To her, they were nothing more than material possessions.
Besides, while the title of Young Madam Sinclair seed glamorous on the surface,
the Sinclair family was just another version of the rcer family.
She simply couldn’t spend the rest of her life locked in the Sinclair family’s cage.
’If all else fails... maybe I should ask Adrian Sutton for help?’
After all, Adrian Sutton and Silas Rowan were childhood friends, and from the looks of it, they were still close.
The Rowan family’s standing in Rhonia was on a level that even the Sinclairs couldn’t touch.
’If I could get the Rowan family’s help, wouldn’t the divorce be much easier?’
The only question was whether Adrian Sutton would be willing to do her this favor.
And even if Adrian Sutton was willing to help her, what about Silas Rowan?
Claire rcer was torn. Once again, she felt lost and helpless about her future.
’Whatever. I have to at least try.’
’I don’t want my future to be buried in the Sinclair family ho.’
With that thought, Claire rcer resolutely pulled out her phone and sent Adrian Sutton a ssage.
"Adrian Sutton, are you there?"
Adrian Sutton was ecstatic when he received the ssage.
’Claire actually ssaged first!’
’This is great!’
His hands were practically shaking as he replied instantly.
"Yes, Miss rcer."
Claire rcer hesitated for a long while before finally typing out a few words.
"It’s just... I wanted to ask you for a favor."
Adrian Sutton replied instantly again. "Of course. If it’s sothing I can help with, I’d die before I’d refuse."
Claire rcer: ’Die before he’d refuse?’
’There’s no need for that kind of talk.’
"I want to divorce Gavin Sinclair."
Adrian Sutton replied, "I know."
’Looks like his Claire is dead set on divorcing Gavin Sinclair.’
For him, this was the best news imaginable.
Claire rcer: "But the Sinclairs won’t agree."
"I’ve thought about taking him to court for the divorce, especially since he had an affair."
"But I can’t possibly fight against the Sinclair family’s money and influence."
"Any lawyer I could find would be no match for theirs, so I doubt suing for divorce is a viable option."
"So I was wondering... could you possibly ask Silas Rowan for ..."
Adrian Sutton understood imdiately.
"Are you hoping the Rowan family will put pressure on the Sinclairs, or that they’ll help you find a lawyer?"
Claire rcer: "Either would be great. I just don’t know if Silas Rowan would be willing to help."
Adrian Sutton replied, "He shouldn’t refuse the chance to rescue an unhappy woman from a miserable marriage."
’She’s going to be his cousin’s wife. How could he possibly refuse?’
When Claire rcer received Adrian Sutton’s ssage, a fla of hope was instantly rekindled in her heart.
"I’ll be counting on you, then."
’If the Rowans are willing to step in...’
’Whether it’s by pressuring the Sinclairs or helping find a top-tier divorce lawyer...’
’...then there’s hope for my divorce after all.’
’But would Silas Rowan really be willing to help a complete stranger like ?’
The other day, he had seed so cold and aloof, not at all approachable.
’Adrian Sutton is just his childhood friend. Would he really do him such a big favor?’
Adrian Sutton quickly replied. "It’s no trouble at all. I’ll do my best."
Claire rcer: "Whether it works out or not, I’m so grateful that you’re willing to help."
Adrian Sutton: "You don’t have to be so formal with ."
Claire rcer thought for a mont. She felt a little bad that the very first ti she was reaching out to him, it was to ask for a favor.
’It was like being one of those friends who never keeps in touch, and then only calls when they need sothing.’
’The kind who doesn’t even drop a ’like’ on a post when they don’t need help.’
It just felt so transactional and left a bad taste in her mouth.
So, she sent Adrian Sutton another ssage.
"By the way, you ntioned you wanted to be a strear. How are the preparations for that coming along?"
Adrian Sutton replied, "Everything’s pretty much ready, I’m just not great with the technical side of things."
"When are you planning to go live? I could help you figure it out."
"Let’s wait until after I’ve helped you sort out your divorce."
Claire rcer: "So have you found a place to live yet?"
"I have. I’m planning to move in in a few days."
"Okay, if you need a housewarming party, I can co with my two best friends."
’If I went by myself, people might start gossiping if they found out.’
’Since he’s willing to go to Silas Rowan for , the least I can do is help with his housewarming when he moves.’
’He’s all alone in Rhonia, doesn’t know the city or many people. It’s kind of sad, really.’
anwhile, when Adrian Sutton saw Claire rcer’s ssage, he was so excited he felt like he was about to explode with fireworks.
’Claire actually offered to co to my housewarming...’
’Does that an I’ll get to eat her ho cooking?’
The more Adrian Sutton thought about it, the more excited he beca. His heart was pounding so hard he thought it would leap out of his chest, and he could barely keep a grip on his phone.
"Thank you so much, Miss rcer."
Claire rcer: "You’re welco."
’If Adrian Sutton can really help get this divorce...’
’...then helping with a housewarming is the least I can do. It’s nothing in comparison.’
After ending the conversation with Claire rcer, Adrian Sutton imdiately called Silas Rowan.
Silas Rowan was still sore about how Adrian Sutton had ditched him at the rcer family’s banquet the other day.
So when he answered Adrian’s call, his voice was dripping with resentnt.
"What do you want?"
"I need you to do a favor."
"Hah!" Silas Rowan scoffed irritably.
"You have the nerve to ask for a favor?"
Adrian Sutton paid no mind to his friend’s petty mood.
"It’s a matter of my lifelong happiness."
Silas Rowan rolled his eyes on the other end of the phone.
"My own lifelong happiness isn’t even settled, so why on earth should I help with yours?"
"Fine." Adrian Sutton wasn’t annoyed. "Then I’ll just call my aunt and tell her you’re sabotaging my love life."
Those words gave Silas Rowan such a headache that he ground his back teeth.
"Fine. Tell what you need."
Adrian Sutton gave Silas Rowan the gist of it. The more Silas listened, the deeper his frown beca.
"All this, for such a trivial matter?"
Adrian Sutton said, "It’s not convenient for to get involved personally right now."
’If I didn’t have to hide my identity from Claire, would I even need to be calling Silas?’
’If it weren’t such a troubleso and ti-consuming process to crush the Sinclair family...’
’...I would have just made them disappear from Rhonia myself.’
With his current power and wealth, dealing with a single Sinclair family would be child’s play.
’But no matter. Neither the Sinclairs nor the rcers will escape.’
’Once the dust settles with Claire, I’ll free up my hands and deal with them slowly.’
’But before that, I plan on playing a fun little ga with them.’
Silas Rowan: "Got it. I’ll co find you later."
He was truly at a loss for words when it ca to Adrian Sutton’s lovesick brain.
’Going to such lengths as hiding his identity just to chase after a woman.’
’And if that wasn’t enough...’
’...the key was that he actually wanted to beco so kind of internet strear for Claire rcer’s sake?’
’He just couldn’t understand it at all.’
