Scarlett Jewel mulled it over, but her thoughts kept coming back to those good-for-nothings from the rcer family.

’Considering how much those good-for-nothings hated Claire rcer... she wouldn’t even have to say much to them. They’d be itching to get rid of Claire rcer. Besides, even if the whole thing blew up, no one would ever connect it to her.’

’After all, it was Claire rcer who had driven the rcer family to bankruptcy. To this day, Julian rcer and his family of three were constantly on the run from debt collectors, scurrying around like rats in a sewer.’

’Their company was gone.’

’Their luxury cars had been sold.’

’Their mansion had been liquidated to cover their debts, too.’

’And even with all that, the rcer family was still over seventy million in debt they couldn’t repay.’

’This was all Claire rcer’s doing.’

’It was no wonder the rcer family hated her and wanted her dead.’

The rcer family was, for her purposes, a very sharp blade.

But at the sa ti, they were her sha and a burden.

In the beginning, right after everything fell apart, those good-for-nothing rcers had constantly pressured her to ask Gavin Sinclair for money.

If she hadn’t fed them a line about a bigger payday and explained the disadvantages of asking Gavin Sinclair for money, they would still be hounding her to this day.

A chill ran down Scarlett Jewel’s spine just thinking about the terror of those few days, being dominated by the rcer family’s phone calls.

Just as she was thinking this, a call ca through. It was Julian rcer.

Seeing his na on her screen, Scarlett Jewel’s face instantly clouded over with deep annoyance.

’Speak of the devil.’

’She didn’t want to answer a call from anyone in the rcer family. But they were at the end of their rope now. If she pushed them too far, it wouldn’t end well for her either.’

Resigned, she swiped to answer the call.

"Hello, Dad... Didn’t I tell you not to call ?"

"If the debt collectors track you down, you’ll be in terrible danger, won’t you?"

"Scarlett, we didn’t have a choice," Julian rcer said.

"I wouldn’t have risked calling you if we weren’t at our wits’ end."

Scarlett Jewel rolled her eyes on her end of the line.

’She’d already cursed them as good-for-nothings hundreds of tis in her mind. Why else would they be calling at a ti like this, if not to ask for money?’

"Out of money again?" she asked through gritted teeth.

Her tone was already extrely strained.

"The hundred thousand you gave us before didn’t even last a few days," Julian rcer said.

"Dad..." Scarlett Jewel fought to suppress her rage.

She did her best to keep the impatience out of her voice.

"If you’re frugal, one hundred thousand should last at least two months."

’Putting aside high-cost expenses like costic surgery, she used to live on less than a hundred thousand a year. It had physically pained her to give them that one hundred thousand, which was just a fraction of the money they had transferred to her before.’

’And how many days has it been? The hundred thousand is already gone. Are they eating the money instead of food?’

Sure enough, Julian rcer said, "But you know how we used to live. We feasted on delicacies every day. Back then, one hundred thousand wouldn’t have even covered a single day’s worth of als for us."

"It’s been a real struggle for us to make it last this long."

Hearing this, Scarlett Jewel couldn’t help but give a massive eye-roll.

She forcibly suppressed the urge to start swearing and asked,

"So how much do you want this ti?"

"You know I don’t have much money on ."

"I’m not like Claire rcer. She grew up in the rcer family, so she must have saved up a lot over the years."

"I’ve only been back with the rcer family for less than half a year. I have basically no savings."

"We know you suffered all those years you were away from us," Julian rcer said.

"But those designer bags and jewelry your mother bought for you... you could probably sell them for hundreds of thousands, maybe even a million, right?"

At his words, Scarlett Jewel was so furious she nearly smashed her phone.

’Just a few bags and a single set of jewelry... and they have the nerve to ask for them back?’

Before she could recover from her anger, Julian rcer’s voice piped up again.

"Besides, you’ve already married Gavin Sinclair. You’re the legitimate daughter-in-law of the Sinclair family now."

"Even if a man keeps a mistress, he has to give her several hundred thousand a month."

"You’re his wife, for crying out loud. There’s no way he doesn’t give you a single penny, right?"

’Mistress?’

’At a ti like this, he actually dared to bring up the word ’mistress’ in front of her. Don’t they know how much she loathes that word?’

Scarlett Jewel was so angry she could have laughed.

She had thought this move would be her ticket to soaring success.

Instead, her family had now beco a complete disgrace and a dead weight.

The problem was, they were now stuck to her like leeches, impossible to get rid of.

’Her public identity was that of the true heiress of the rcer family. Completely getting rid of them wouldn’t be easy. And long-term peace and quiet was out of the question.’

’But since they’d co to her, she no longer needed to think of another way to deal with Claire rcer. She could just use them to get rid of Claire rcer. When the dust settled, the rcer family would be the ones going to prison for good.’

’That way, not only would Claire rcer be eliminated, but the rcer family problem would be solved as well.’

’Wouldn’t that be killing two birds with one stone?’

At this thought, the anger and frustration in Scarlett Jewel’s heart instantly vanished.

She imdiately switched to a wronged, tearful tone.

"Dad, do you really think he still treats like he used to?"

"He’s completely obsessed with Claire rcer now. He keeps blaming for causing his divorce and breakup with her..."

"I don’t know what tricks Claire rcer used to make Gavin Sinclair so infatuated with her."

"For her sake, Gavin Sinclair is even planning to kick out of the Sinclair Family after our child is born, just to make room for her again..."

The mont Claire rcer’s na was ntioned, Judith Caldwell, who was beside Julian rcer, erupted.

"Claire rcer, Claire rcer, it’s always that bitch Claire rcer..."

"Wasn’t it enough that she ruined us? Now that Scarlett is married, she’s trying to seduce Gavin Sinclair again. How can she be so shaless?"

Judith Caldwell paced back and forth in the cramped room, muttering furiously.

"No, we absolutely can’t let that nace Claire rcer continue to cause trouble."

"We’re hiding from debt collectors, so why does she get to live a life of ease and comfort?"

"Even if it’s just for Scarlett’s future, that bitch Claire rcer has to be dealt with."

"If she really seduces Gavin Sinclair away, what will happen to Scarlett? We’re counting on her to secure her position as Mrs. Sterling of the Sinclair family..."

When Julian rcer didn’t object to what Judith Caldwell said, Scarlett Jewel knew her plan had succeeded.

Soon, she would be able to use the rcer family to eliminate Claire rcer.

She would also be able to completely rid herself of those rcer good-for-nothings and no longer have to worry about their constant harassnt.

It had been a long ti since Scarlett Jewel had felt this happy.

’She just hoped the rcer family would pull their weight. When it ca to dealing with Claire rcer, they absolutely couldn’t screw it up.’
