After dinner, Adrian was cleaning up the kitchen.

anwhile, Claire carefully gave Mrs. Sutton a sponge bath.

She then followed the doctor’s instructions, applying a hot compress to the sprained area with a towel.

Afterward, she poured a glass of hot water and reminded her to take her dicine.

Mrs. Sutton hated taking dicine more than anything; even the sll made her feel dizzy.

Claire patiently coaxed her for a long ti before the old lady obediently took her dicine.

Seeing how gently and patiently she was caring for his wife...

Mr. Sutton felt increasingly satisfied with Claire.

He ran to the kitchen doorway, found Adrian, and praised him sincerely.

"Adrian, my boy, you’ve got great taste. You found such a wonderful granddaughter-in-law."

"Look at how considerately she’s taking care of your grandmother, and how patiently she coaxes her to take her dicine."

"You can tell at a glance that she’s a kind-hearted and very dutiful girl."

"Our Sutton Family has never cared about soone’s background, only that they have noble character and integrity."

"And I think that girl, Claire, is wonderful."

"Of course she is." Adrian’s expression and words were filled with pride.

Mr. Sutton then warned him sternly.

"You’d better treat Claire well. You absolutely cannot let her down or bully her."

"If you make us lose such a good granddaughter-in-law, your grandmother and I won’t let you off the hook."

The ntion of losing Claire made Adrian think about the bombshell he was still hiding.

"Grandpa, instead of worrying that I’ll let Claire down or bully her, you should be worried that she’ll dump one day."

Mr. Sutton naturally knew what he was referring to.

"Honestly, you... Why did you have to hide your situation?"

"Honesty is the most important thing in a relationship."

"You’ve been hiding things from her from the very beginning. That’s basically deception."

"When Claire finds out, I’d like to see how you’re going to placate her."

This was exactly what Adrian was most worried about.

He had wanted to tell her the truth and co clean so many tis.

But every ti the words were on the tip of his tongue, he worried she would get angry, so he never dared to say them.

That’s why he had dragged it out until now, still not daring to tell her his true identity.

It was a ti bomb he had set for himself, one that constantly troubled him and left him uneasy.

’I have to confess everything to her sooner or later, anyway.’

’For now, I can only look for the right opportunity to explain everything to her.’

anwhile, Claire had finished taking care of Mrs. Sutton.

Adrian had also finished cleaning the kitchen until it was spotless.

Adrian had planned to play a ga of chess with Mr. Sutton.

But Mr. Sutton waved his hand dismissively, a look of disdain on his face.

"Don’t waste your ti on an old man like ."

"I don’t need you to keep company right now."

"Grandpa, we’ve only been apart for a little while, and you’re already sick of ?"

Mr. Sutton shot him a glance. "How old are you? Still trying to act cute with this old man. Have you no sha?"

"Even when I’m an old man, I’ll still be your good grandson."

Hearing this, Mr. Sutton gave him an amused but exasperated glare. "Stop being a smart-aleck."

"Weren’t you just worried that Claire would dump you after finding out you hid things and deceived her?"

"Grandpa will give you an idea right now."

"What idea?"

’It’s not going to be so terrible idea, is it?’

Adrian grumbled inwardly.

Mr. Sutton stroked his beard with a grin and said mysteriously,

"Hurry up and make a great-grandchild."

"Once you have a child to tie you together, even if Claire gets angry, she’ll forgive you for the child’s sake."

"Besides, it’s not like you’ve committed so huge cri. She wouldn’t make the child suffer just because you deceived and hid things from her."

"Am I right or am I right?"

Mr. Sutton asked him with a wide grin.

He clearly thought his idea was excellent and that he was incredibly clever.

Adrian cleared his throat slightly.

"You’re right, Grandpa. That’s not a bad idea at all."

But while the idea was good, implenting it would be extrely difficult.

He and Claire had a fake marriage to begin with. Even if their relationship wasn’t so distant now...

...it didn’t seem like they had gotten much closer.

Forget about giving the two elders a great-grandchild; the two of them hadn’t even held hands yet.

Strictly speaking, it was his own fault for being so useless.

Just as Silas Rowan had teased, when it ca to romance, he was far too insecure.

He was always timid and overly cautious.

’Oh well. For now, I can only take it one step at a ti.’

In the end, Adrian was shooed back to Claire’s room by Mr. Sutton.

He had just stepped inside when Claire ca out of the bathroom.

She was in her pajamas, drying her hair with a towel.

Even from a distance, Adrian could sll the fresh scent of her body wash.

She had clearly just taken a shower.

Seeing him appear in the room, Claire stopped in her tracks, her expression freezing for a mont.

Adrian was also a bit awkward and, truthfully, very nervous.

He was terrified Claire would kick him out.

He had finally gotten a chance to share a room with her; he didn’t want to be thrown out just like that.

But when Claire saw his nervous and restless expression...

...she found it a little amusing.

Her own intense nervousness and awkwardness were sowhat alleviated.

"You seem a little nervous."

In truth, she was very nervous too.

The only reason she asked was to hide her own nervousness from him.

Being seen through so easily made Adrian even more embarrassed.

’I’ve always looked forward to sharing a room with Claire.’

’And now the opportunity is right in front of .’

’If I don’t seize this chance, wouldn’t that make even more useless?’

’However, I can’t let Claire see through my less-than-honorable intentions.’

He decided to feign a retreat to advance, testing Claire’s attitude and reaction in the process.

"Um, Claire... why don’t I just go sleep on the sofa?"

Claire gave him a questioning look.

Adrian said, sounding understanding yet pitiful,

"Although we’re husband and wife to the public, of the two bedrooms, Grandpa has taken one, and Grandma is in the other."

"But given our current relationship, sharing a room would indeed be awkward, and it wouldn’t be good for your reputation."

"So after Grandpa and Grandma fall asleep, I’ll go sleep on the sofa."

Seeing his pitiful act, Claire suddenly found she didn’t have the heart to go through with it.

He was the one who had originally offered this bedroom to her.

And his grandmother had her waist sprained by soone hired by Scarlett Jewel all because of her.

Besides, the two elders had co to Rhonia to attend her family recognition banquet.

If they hadn’t co for the banquet, his grandmother wouldn’t have been injured, and they wouldn’t be in this awkward situation now.

’In the end, this is all my fault.’

’How could I have the nerve to make him sleep on the sofa?’

Claire thought for a mont and said,

"How about I go crash at Roxanne’s or Stella’s for the night?"

How could Adrian let her stay sowhere else?

’The perfect opportunity is right here.’

"But it looks like Grandpa and Grandma won’t be leaving anyti soon..."

"You can’t just sleep at their places for the next few days, can you?"

Claire thought about it and felt he had a point.

"But you can’t sleep on the sofa all those days either, can you?"

"Aside from it being hard to explain if Grandpa and Grandma find out, it’s also bad for your back."

"Then what should we do?" Adrian asked, looking extrely troubled.
