"Mr. Lu, it’s ti, we should depart."

He Jiafan left, and Xu Jiawei knocked and entered, informing Lu Liang that it was ti to set off for Tokyo.

Lu Liang nodded, casually stuffed a few pieces of underwear into his suitcase, and then left the company by car.

On the way to the airport, he stared idly at the scenery flashing by outside the window, suddenly asking, "Xiaochao, we should be nearing Detroit, right?"

Wen Chao departed a day earlier than Lu Liang, and since he was on a business flight without a direct route to Detroit, it would take at least 15 hours of travel ti.

Xu Jiawei was browsing emails, checking the work log submitted by Wen Chao, and then said, "President Chao arrived in Los Angeles three hours ago. He’s expected to reach Detroit Airport in about half an hour."

Lu Liang humd in response, "Hope everything goes smoothly."

"Will there be any changes?" Xu Jiawei asked in confusion.

"Unclear," Lu Liang replied.

The situation in the United States was too complex, and just a few words from Hilt on the phone made it hard to judge accurately.

Hence, Lu Liang gave Wen Chao high authority to act first and report later, not requiring him to report everything.

While Lu Liang was on his way to Tokyo in a chartered plane, Wen Chao also smoothly landed at Detroit International Airport.

"Can you see the person picking us up?" Wen Chao, along with the seven mbers of his team, stood at the arrival gate looking around.

At that mont, a group of over a dozen police officers in uniforms surrounded them, led by a strong-built Black captain.

Wen Chao frowned, took a step forward, stood at the front of the group, and asked politely with a smile, "Sir, is there sothing you need from us?"

"Hello, we’ve received a report that you are carrying illegal items into the country. Please cooperate with our investigation," the Black officer said coldly.

Wen Chao was taken aback, and the mbers behind him showed signs of panic, evidently experiencing such a situation for the first ti.

"Everyone, stay calm," Wen Chao commanded loudly.

A mber of the legal team quickly reacted, looking at the Black captain, "Officer, please show your identification and related docunts, otherwise we have no reason to cooperate with your investigation."

The commotion at the arrival gate attracted the attention of many travelers.

Tianxing Automobile’s technical director stationed in the US, Zhuang Wei, saw this and hurriedly ran forward, "What are you doing?"

But before he could approach, he was blocked by the large hands of the surrounding police officers.

He could only shout through the human wall, "President Chao, what’s happening?"

"Mr. Zhuang, long ti no see."

Wen Chao remained calm, smiled faintly, and said, "Soone reported that we are carrying illegal items."

The legal departnt colleague, Huang Yuan, had just finished talking with the Black captain and whispered, "President Chao, their docunts are in order, we may need to cooperate a bit."

Wen Chao nodded slightly, Huang Yuan looked at Zhuang Wei and then at the Black captain, "Mr. Smith, that’s a colleague who ca to greet us, according to Michigan’s human rights law, he has the right and needs to report our situation to the company."

He was well-versed in local legal terms since he accompanied Wen Chao on his trip to the United States and adept at using legal tools to protect his rights.

There were so things that needed to be told to Zhuang Wei before they headed to the police station to avoid being passive later.

After all, the other party ca prepared and aggressively.

If soone tampered with their luggage, putting in sothing that shouldn’t be there, it would truly be hard to explain then.

"You have only five minutes to talk."

The Black captain frowned, unwilling but had to let Zhuang Wei co into contact with them.

Huang Yuan quickly said, "Mr. Zhuang, we departed from Xiangjiang Airport and transferred at Los Angeles Airport. Please make sure to contact them at the first opportunity to retrieve security check and other monitoring data and keep the footage as evidence..."

Zhuang Wei morized all the instructions, then looked at Wen Chao, "President Chao, should we report to Mr. Lu?"

Wen Chao nodded, "It’s best to ntion it."

The five minutes passed in a flash.

Zhuang Wei watched helplessly as Wen Chao and all the accompanying team mbers were taken away by law enforcent for investigation.

anwhile, Lu Liang’s private plane had just passed over the East Sea, and in another forty minutes, it would land in Tokyo.

"Is it my imagination, or does it feel like your figure is getting better?"

Lin Yan sat quietly on Lu Liang’s lap, peeling grapes, and upon hearing his words, her face darkened: "If you’re trying to say I’ve gotten fatter, just say it."

She twisted her voluptuous waist and rubbed her peach-shaped honeyed hips repeatedly against Lu Liang’s thigh, vaguely sensing Little Lu was awakening quickly.

"Being a little plump isn’t bad, it feels good."

Lu Liang chuckled, his hands grasping the honeyed hips, like a child with a new toy, in love with changing its shape.

Just then, a rapid knocking ca at the door, followed by Xu Jiawei’s anxious voice: "Mr. Lu, the phone is ringing."

"Move aside for a bit." Lu Liang snapped out of it slightly, quickly tapping Lin Yan’s waist to get her off him.

He tucked the gun into his pants, imdiately opened the door, and took the phone from Xu Jiawei: "This is Lu Liang."

Assuming soone wanted to contact him without having his personal number, they would first need to contact his secretary Xu Jiawei.

Contacting Xu Jiawei also has a prerequisite, which is needing Xu Jiawei’s number.

Under normal circumstances, Xu Jiawei’s phone is online 24 hours a day.

If Xu Jiawei’s phone doesn’t connect, it’s likely because he’s on a plane.

At this point, you need to contact Lu Liang’s work assistant, explain the situation, and then obtain the satellite phone number.

Going through such a process involves a high silent cost, so unless it’s an exceptionally important ergency, generally, no one would dare to do so.

As a result, even though there are several satellite phones on the plane, and Lu Liang has been using them for more than a year, he has only made outgoing calls and never received any.

"Alright, I understand." Knowing the situation, Lu Liang’s face turned serious, and he hastily ended the call with Zhuang Wei.

He pondered for a mont, then called Flannery, his tone calm: "Mr. Flannery, just now, Wen Chao was taken away by law enforcent at the Detroit Airport for carrying illegal items. Do you know about this?"

Flannery was stunned and hurriedly said: "Lu, don’t worry, I’ll handle it and give you a satisfactory answer."

Detroit is General Motors’ territory, and Wen Chao being taken away on his turf is akin to a slap in his face.

Moreover, the face is secondary; General Tianxing is about to go public, and Wen Chao’s trip is precisely for this matter.

General Motors holds 51% of the shares, and once it goes public, they will earn a substantial profit. .

In this situation, Flannery doesn’t care who it is, even if it’s the IRS, he must find a way to deal with it.

"I’ll give you twelve hours. I don’t want this matter to affect our cooperation relationship," Lu Liang said.

"Alright, no problem."

After ending the call with Flannery, Lu Liang called Harris to inform him of the situation.

Harris was in disbelief for a long ti before he reacted, wondering out loud: "Is it the IRS? It doesn’t quite seem like it?"

"I don’t know, but it’s certain that the planner behind this isn’t smart," Lu Liang said with a smile.

At Detroit Airport, in broad daylight and in front of so many tourists, taking Wen Chao away under the guise of carrying illegal items.

This matter, no matter how you look at it, isn’t the work of a smart person. Because the flaws left are countless.

After all, with ng Wanqiu before, if another incident involving Wen Chao breaks out, the reputation of the United States market will be completely ruined. For original chapters go to Nov3lFɪre.ɴet

Although the US itself doesn’t have a great reputation, it’s still a world leader and has to maintain so dignity.

If they resort to ans outside the rules for persecution now and then, who will dare to invest in the future?

"But giving General Motors twelve hours, isn’t that too much?" Harris spoke with a sense of excitent.

At this mont, he was annoyed with everyone but Lu Liang.

If there was a button in front of him that would let the entire world perish with a press, he might not even hesitate to press it.

"After all, we are guests. Let General Motors handle it first. If they can’t, then it’s up to you."

Lu Liang pondered for a mont and advised kindly: "Don’t always be so extre—nothing happens overnight."

Hilt once described Harris with one word: ’mad dog.’

Now, Harris won’t leave anyone alone, attacking anyone he can, and it’s either you die or I die.

Lu Liang also felt a headache because, on one hand, he needed Harris’s ferocity to break through Wall Street’s barriers.

On the other hand, he knew that Harris not biting him is just a false premise; he just hasn’t gone berserk yet.

The key is Lu Liang also found it hard to dissuade him.

If he had gone through what Harris did, he might have turned just like him, perhaps even more extre.

Everyone knows that Arican prisons are rampant with perversion. So bullies aren’t Southern Tong but like watching people be forced by them.

Lu Liang had seen photos of Harris before he went to prison: blonde hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, with a slight resemblance to Leonardo.

Before his imprisonnt, Harris was not a racist, or if he was, he hid it well and very few people knew.

But after being released, the deep-seated hatred towards black people was impossible to hide.

Lu Liang witnessed firsthand, due to business needs, Harris had to et with a black person to discuss collaboration.

The negotiation went smoothly, and he was all smiles; no one thought he was a racist.

Until Lu Liang went to the bathroom and saw Harris washing his hands until they bled.

Just because that black person had shaken hands with him.

So it’s not hard to guess,

What he had gone through in prison.
