Qin Lie had just finished handling a project after overti when his phone buzzed. He opened it and saw a ssage from Ye Lingfeng, which made him expressionless as he tapped on his phone a few tis. Ye Lingfeng was waiting for his response and, seeing that he had sent a recording, felt a bit curious.
Upon opening it, his face imdiately darkened. This little flirt is claiming to love everyone! He sulked and put his phone away, choosing not to reply. Qin Lie calmly packed up his computer, having already been prepared for this kind of tactic. Ha, as if he doesn't know his own faults?
The two of them spent the night fuming at each other, neither sleeping well. In contrast, Zhouzhou was snugly curled up, sleeping soundly. Her appetite was unaffected; after devouring nine stead buns, she stuffed two more into her backpack and bounced her way to school.
As soon as she arrived at the school entrance, she bumped into Chang Beibei, who was followed closely by Zhou Fei. Spotting them, Zhouzhou's eyes brightened, and she quickly approached.
"Zhou Fei, how's staying at Beibei's house?" she asked eagerly.
Zhou Fei glanced at Chang Beibei and nodded, "It's good; the principal and Chang Beibei are both very nice to ."
This was the truth. After arriving at the principal's ho yesterday, he hadn't said much; the principal just told him to treat it like his own ho, and he naturally settled in to do his work. Chang Beibei kept him entertained, her lively personality shining through, although she tended to talk a lot.
"Who would've thought my storytelling was so good that it put you to sleep?" Chang Beibei boasted, a glimr of pride in her voice.
Qin Bei, unable to hold back, muttered, "Maybe it's because your stories were too boring that he fell asleep."
"What do you know?" Chang Beibei retorted, visibly upset. "Clearly, he fell asleep because my stories were so captivating, and he was completely relaxed. Right, Zhou Fei?"
Zhou Fei pondered for a mont before affirmatively nodding, "Yes."
Chang Beibei's stories were quite surprising; he was curious where she had learned so many. That was her hidden talent, after all.
As they confird Zhou Fei was alright, Zhouzhou nodded with satisfaction. Their teacher called them to co inside, and they waved goodbye to their parents before dashing into the school.
When they reached the entrance, Zhou Fei suddenly stopped.
Chang Beibei turned around, puzzled, "What's wrong?"
Zhou Fei glanced inside and then lowered his head, tightly clenching his hands. After a long pause, he quietly said, "I'm afraid they won't like ."
After all, every ti his mother caused a scene, his classmates would dislike and bully him. This ti, his mother's outburst had been even worse, and he feared they would surely hate him now.
Thinking about this made his mood sink lower, and he instinctively took a step back, feeling scared and wanting to retreat. At that mont, a little chubby hand landed gently on his shoulder.
"What are you afraid of?" Zhouzhou said softly. "It won't happen!"
"Just look at Li Yu'an," Zhouzhou cited, "He was a big bully before, yet everyone still plays with him. You haven't bullied us, so there's no need to worry!"
Hearing his na, Li Yu'an frowned, displeased. Why does she always use as an example of a bad person? No way, he needed to treat her better so everyone would praise him!
With determination, he quietly clenched his fists. Zhou Fei watched him, still hesitating. Just then, so classmates, alerted by the noise, ca out.
Upon seeing Zhou Fei, their eyes widened. Zhou Fei felt his heart race and quickly covered his head, trembling in fear.
However, the pain he anticipated didn't co. Instead, a hand rested gently on his shoulder, and a concerned voice spoke, "Zhou Fei, are you okay? We heard you jumped off a building. Did you get hurt?"
"Why would you think of jumping off when there are so many tasty things and fun to be had? Would you really want to miss out?"
"You can't do that again! You scared us to death!"
As more classmates erged, they nodded vigorously, chattering in concern.
Zhou Fei stood there, completely stunned. He slowly lowered his hands, eyes glistening with unshed tears as he looked at their worried faces.
"Why are you crying? Are you hurt? You should have just stayed ho and rested; why rush back to school?"
"Exactly! If it were , I'd just lie in bed for six months! How nice would that be?"
The classmates lost themselves in their imaginations, expanding on their thoughts.
Hearing their words, Zhou Fei broke into a smile. He shook his head and said earnestly, "I don't regret coming to school today at all."
If he hadn't co, he wouldn't have known how wonderful they were or how much they cared about him.
If he hadn't co, he wouldn't have so many friends.
It turned out not everyone would dislike him because of his mother. In fact, they didn't.
Initially, parents had warned their children to stay away from him. Yesterday, when they heard about his attempt, they instructed their kids once again. When they later learned he was safe, their feelings were mixed; they didn't want their kids to be too close to him.
After all, he had taken such an extre approach at such a young age, and they feared their children might follow suit.
It was only after the principal held an ergency parent eting that things changed. He explained Mrs. Zhou's condition and invited a psychologist to discuss Zhou Fei's situation, reassuring them of his good nature. This incident stemd from being overly suppressed.
The principal passionately described why they should accept Zhou Fei, leaving many parents in tears. Eventually, they were convinced and decided to stop keeping their children away from him.
Zhouzhou smiled brightly and said, "I told you, everything is fine! We're all good kids and won't randomly hurt people!"
Seeing Li Yu'an about to speak, Zhouzhou bared her little teeth and waved her chubby hand, "Unless they deserve it!"
Upon hearing this, Li Yu'an wilted. Fine, I was indeed not a good person back then.
Realizing he was behaving himself, Zhouzhou smirked, and Zhou Fei felt relieved as he obediently entered the classroom.
By the end of the day, he felt an unprecedented sense of peace in his heart. Zhouzhou, too, quickly put this matter behind her; she enjoyed her als and continued to be the lively and happy little chubby girl.
When the last class bell rang, she quickly packed her bag and hopped out of the classroom.
However, just as she reached the door, a little boy blocked her path.
The boy, dressed in suspenders and trying to look cool by running his hand through his hair, leaned against the wall and obstructed Zhouzhou's way.
He pulled out a red piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Zhouzhou, saying arrogantly, "Hey, Qin Caicai, I like you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
