Mrs. Zhou was initially scared when she t Qin Lie's eyes. After he left, she finally breathed a sigh of relief but felt a bit indignant. She despised these rich people, thinking they used their wealth to trample over others without regard for anyone else. Her goal now was to earn enough money so no one would ever dare to bully her or her son again.
With this in mind, she quickly took Zhou Fei to the hospital.
Once the mother and son left, the other parents began to disperse, though they couldn't help but feel perplexed by the situation.
"What kind of person is she?" one of them muttered. "A shrew through and through, attacking the people trying to help her."
Everyone agreed, especially since the young girl had clearly only been trying to assist, yet Mrs. Zhou had pushed her down--far too excessive. How could she harm such an adorable little girl?
Moreover, coming to the school over such a trivial matter was just absurd. It was as if she was determined to push her son into developing serious psychological issues.
It was hard not to pity Zhou Fei. The poor child looked so unhappy all the ti, and having a mother like that couldn't have helped.
Although everyone sympathized, they were also reluctant to confront her--dealing with soone like that would only bring misfortune.
Qin Lie had initially planned to ignore it, but since it had impacted Zhouzhou, he could no longer stand by.
After dropping Zhouzhou off at her classroom, he headed to the principal's office and knocked on the door.
"Co in."
When Principal Chang saw him, he was surprised. "What brings you here?"
The principal had beco quite familiar with Qin Ren's family over the years, given that several of Qin Lie's siblings' children had attended the school. However, he had only just t Qin Lie himself. He had heard of his reputation--everyone who ntioned him did so with a mix of awe and fear.
But Principal Chang had also seen another side of him. Qin Lie doted on Zhouzhou and was incredibly tender with her, even picking her up from school every day. It was a sharp contrast to the workaholic persona everyone spoke of.
However, here, he was simply another parent.
Qin Lie looked directly at Principal Chang and got straight to the point, "About Zhou Fei--did you personally approve his transfer to this school?"
Principal Chang sighed and nodded. "Yes, I did."
"Why?" Qin Lie frowned. "I heard from my siblings that you're strict about following the rules, and Zhou Fei doesn't et the transfer criteria."
Their ho district wasn't even in this school's area, and yet he'd been allowed to transfer. Qin Lie didn't understand why.
"And as far as I know, you don't base these decisions purely on academic performance," he continued. "Especially for a first grader--it's not enough reason to break the rules."
Qin Lie pressed on, determined to get an answer.
Principal Chang sighed again and poured Qin Lie a cup of tea.
"I'm sure you've noticed that there's sothing a bit off about that child," he said.
Qin Lie nodded. With a mother like Mrs. Zhou, it would be hard for him not to have issues.
"That's why I allowed him to transfer here," Principal Chang explained. "I was worried that if he didn't co, he wouldn't be able to make it."
He recalled the first ti he t Zhou Fei. His initial impression was that the child seed far too lifeless for a first-grader. Zhouzhou and the other children were always so full of energy--running, jumping, laughing, and crying, living with vitality.
But Zhou Fei...was utterly devoid of that liveliness.
It was an unusual description for a seven-year-old, but in his case, it fit all too well.
Principal Chang quickly understood why. Mrs. Zhou had proudly shown him Zhou Fei's report cards, awards, and trophies, clearly placing his academic achievents above all else. And yet, when she spoke of his honors, Zhou Fei displayed no emotion whatsoever, sothing his own mother didn't even seem to notice.
She also went on to defend her parenting philosophy, talking about how difficult it had been for her over the years. While Principal Chang sympathized with her struggles, he couldn't agree with her approach. She was wrong, plain and simple.
He tried to explain, but Mrs. Zhou insisted that Zhou Fei's achievents proved she was right.
But true excellence in a child isn't limited to academic success alone. The deadness and repression in Zhou Fei's eyes had deeply unsettled the principal. After much consideration, he had decided to let the boy transfer.
"And as for placing him in the sa class as Zhouzhou," Principal Chang continued, "that was intentional on my part."
At this, Qin Lie's frown deepened, and he looked up, his gaze cold.
"I already heard about what happened earlier," Principal Chang said. He couldn't help it--his gossipy daughter had filled him in, so the news had reached him quickly.
"I was very impressed with Zhouzhou's behavior today, and that's part of why I made this decision."
"First, Zhouzhou can handle the kids in her class. She's righteous and protective of the weak, so she won't let anyone bully Zhou Fei."
"And second, she's kind-hearted. The little girl is also a bit of a marvel--her thoughts are quirky and unexpected. Maybe she'll find a way to help Zhou Fei."
After listening to everything, Qin Lie's face remained expressionless, and a cold smile slowly spread across his face.
"Did Zhouzhou agree to this?" he asked. "She's here to study, not to work. Helping other students isn't her responsibility."
His voice was ice-cold, making it clear that he was genuinely upset.
Principal Chang felt a headache coming on. He had no idea how to persuade Qin Lie. In the end, he gave up and said, "The transfer is done. If you want, you can talk to Zhouzhou about ignoring Zhou Fei."
"Or maybe, like in his last school, she can bully him and push him out with violence?"
At this, Qin Lie's eyes grew even colder.
He knew Zhouzhou wasn't that type of person, and she would never do such a thing! This was clearly just shaless manipulation.
Principal Chang conceded that this was true. He was indeed being a bit underhanded, but what else could he do?
Other than Zhouzhou, who else could deal with this little "prince of hell?"
Qin Lie stared at him for a few seconds, then abruptly stood up and strode out of the office.
When he reached the door, he paused and said without looking back, "I've tolerated everything so far, but if Zhouzhou gets hurt because of him again, I won't hesitate to use my own thods."
If he acted, it would be far more serious than just a transfer!
