Coincidentally, the military personnel held similar sentints.
At present, on a clandestine island of the utmost secrecy, Xi Mo had just completed a mission.
He strode purposefully to the commander's office, still clad in his camouflage attire. With a respectful nod, he inquired, "Commander, you summoned ?"
The commander, with a genial smile, waved him in. "Yes, please, take a seat."
Xi Mo's deanor remained composed as he approached. It wasn't until he laid eyes on the docunts strewn across the desk that a subtle change crossed his countenance, a faint furrow forming on his brow.
Observing Xi Mo's reaction, the commander's grin widened. "I heard this young lady is your niece?"
Xi Mo nodded. "How did you co by Zhouzhou's information?"
"So her na is Zhouzhou? What a charming na," the commander remarked with even greater joviality.
However, Xi Mo regarded him with a hint of skepticism. He was not one to take an interest in young girls, and the commander's mischievous grin struck him as peculiar.
Unable to elicit further probing, the commander cleared his throat and abandoned any pretense.
"Here's the situation: I've just learned that Fourth Bureau and our organization will be participating in the sa competition, and this young lady will also be joining."
The news of Zhouzhou's enlistnt in the Fourth Bureau wasn't a secret among the upper echelons.
The news of Zhouzhou joining the Fourth Bureau wasn't a secret among the higher-ups. Every year, the Bureau welcod new recruits, so it wasn't particularly unusual -- except this ti, the newcor was a little girl still in kindergarten.
This revelation caused quite a stir within the upper echelons. As for the idea that she might have joined because she was Ye Lingfeng's daughter, taking advantage of family connections -- no one believed that for a second. Who would send their young daughter into such a dangerous environnt just for the sake of nepotism? Besides, Zhao Xinghua wasn't the type to bend the rules.
If Zhouzhou didn't have real talent, he wouldn't have agreed to her joining.
After reviewing the footage of Zhouzhou passing the tests, Zhao Xinghua was convinced. Except for the last challenge, which tested speed calculation and where the little girl used an unconventional thod, she passed the first nine challenges purely through skill. Her abilities were exceptional, even among the elite mbers of the Bureau.
What was even more remarkable was her age. For soone so young to have such impressive skills was extraordinary. With proper training, her future potential was limitless.
Xi Mo's furrowed brow deepened as he regarded the commander. "Commander, what exactly are you aiming for?"
The commander, undeterred, cast him a knowing glance and poured a glass of water. "Don't you wish to see your little niece more often? She's such a lovely girl, just a glance at her brings joy."
His tone was laden with temptation.
In that instant, Xi Mo grasped the implication. Arching an eyebrow, he reminded, "Ye Lingfeng is with the Fourth Bureau."
Competing with him for personnel, especially his own daughter, would undoubtedly provoke his ire.
"Is that so?" The commander's tone turned sowhat sour. "Regardless of his affiliation, you are still Little Zhouzhou's uncle. Your relationship isn't any less significant."
"And besides, you're quite handso yourself. Our organization is not lacking in any aspect. If the young lady were to join us, I assure you, she'd receive the highest treatnt."
Yet, Xi Mo remained unmoved, not because he didn't wish for it, but because he knew it was impossible.
Despite Zhouzhou's habitual banter about her "rebellious dad," she held a deep affection for Ye Lingfeng.
Moreover, her desire to join the Fourth Bureau wasn't driven by perks; she simply wished to be with Ye Lingfeng, to protect him.
At that mont, Xi Mo couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. Who wouldn't desire Zhouzhou's affection?
Yet, attaining it was another matter entirely. Compared to Ye Lingfeng, her biological father, Xi Mo, as her uncle, paled in comparison.
Furthermore, he didn't want to place Zhouzhou in the difficult position of choosing between them.
He voiced these sentints to the commander, who remained resolute in his pursuit, his gaze lingering covetously on Zhouzhou.
Xi Mo resigned himself to the futility of the situation and let the commander pursue his course of action. After all, it would likely lead to no fruitful outco.
However, he hadn't anticipated Zhouzhou's arrival. Did this an he would finally have the chance to et her again?
At the thought of his long-lost niece, Xi Mo's lips curled into a faint smile.
Zhouzhou, too, eagerly awaited their reunion. Despite practicing late into the night, she reassured her concerned companion, Xinbao, that her injuries were incurred during friendly sparring sessions, not from malicious adversaries.
She explained, "Xinbao, don't worry, I'm fine. These bruises are from training with my brothers and uncles. They're helping improve my skills."
Though Xinbao might not fully comprehend, Zhouzhou repeated her reassurances until the fluffy creature settled down, relieved that she hadn't been hard.
Observing Xinbao's chubby form, Zhouzhou's delight was palpable as she hugged its large head tightly. "Xinbao, you're so wonderful. I adore you."
In response to her affection, Xinbao nuzzled against her, its large head pressing close.
The two ford a heartwarming scene as they cuddled together. After a while, Zhouzhou led Xinbao back to the panda enclosure.
Upon arrival, Wei Feng was still preoccupied with his tasks, so Zhouzhou refrained from disturbing him. Instead, she played with Xinbao nearby.
The area had been transford into a panda sanctuary, complete with toys, balls, and rocking horses scattered about, alongside a beautiful garden.
After playing with a ball for a while, Xinbao attempted to climb a nearby tree, its front paws grasping at the trunk in an effort to ascend. However, its hind legs lacked the strength, causing it to fall back each ti it tried.
Despite Xinbao's persistence, Zhouzhou knew that tree climbing was a natural instinct for pandas.
Several of them were resting in the branches nearby. Yet, what was simple for other pandas might remain an unattainable dream for Xinbao.
Watching its futile attempts, Zhouzhou's heart ached. Hastily, she scooped Xinbao into her arms and comforted, "Don't worry, Xinbao, I'll help you up."
Scanning the surroundings, her gaze landed on a nearby bamboo basket. She retrieved it and gently placed Xinbao inside. "Stay still, Xinbao. I'll carry you up."
As if understanding her words, Xinbao obediently settled into the basket.
With Xinbao on her back, Zhouzhou ascended the tree with ease. Carefully, she lifted it out of the basket and onto a sturdy branch to prevent it from falling. Xinbao clung tightly to the branch with its front paws.
Seated beside it, Zhouzhou reached out and gently stroked its large head. "Do you like it up here?"
Xinbao couldn't respond verbally, but its excited chirps conveyed its delight.
As Xinbao rejoiced, Zhouzhou's happiness mirrored its own. Their heads pressed together, they shared a mont of contentnt.
Wei Feng erged just in ti to witness this heartwarming scene. The sight of the two little "bun buns" sitting side by side, holding hands and gazing into the distance, was incredibly endearing. He couldn't resist capturing the mont with his phone.
However, as he snapped the photo, a sudden movent caught his eye—a bright green object plumting towards the ground on the screen.
Wei Feng's expression darkened...
