The man in black promptly walked out. Lu Qing's face finally changed; his fists clenched tightly, veins bulging on his forehead as if he was desperately trying to suppress his rage.
Seeing this, Mr. Zheng felt more convinced that capturing Sun i had been the right move. He sneered, wondering how long Lu Qing could maintain his defiance.
The bodyguard quickly hid outside, watching the man in black depart. He couldn't help but glance at Zhouzhou, who was still feigning distress, causing the corners of his mouth to twitch. "Master Zhou, your act is a bit much."
Despite this, her heart-wrenching cries seed to have convinced Mr. Zheng entirely. He hadn't noticed the little girl winking at Lu Qing amid her sobs.
"Fifth Senior Brother, how's my acting?"
Lu Qing almost burst into laughter, but he managed to keep his composure, continuing to feign anger to confuse Mr. Zheng.
Not long after, Sun i, looking bewildered, was brought in by the man in black. Her eyes lit up upon seeing Mr. Zheng, and she hurried forward ingratiatingly. "Mr. Zheng, is there sothing you need?"
Mr. Zheng gave her a long look and said, "Mrs. Sun, you have quite a remarkable son. Master Lu is indeed as accurate in fortune-telling as you claid."
Sun i's eyes sparkled. She knew it! She imdiately turned to Lu Qing, urging him, "Quick, tell Mr. Zheng about his fortune."
Mr. Zheng smiled slightly. "I brought you here for that purpose, but Master Lu seems unwilling to cooperate."
Upon hearing this, Sun i's face changed. She imdiately scolded Lu Qing, "What are you doing? Help Mr. Zheng out now, or don't bother coming ho today!"
At her words, Lu Qing trembled as if deeply wounded by her words, showing a pained expression.
Mr. Zheng, observing this, felt even more certain that Sun i was Lu Qing's weakness. He threatened, "Master Lu, if you refuse, I'll have to take your mother with to the underworld."
With that, he motioned to the man in black, who stepped forward and lifted Sun i, causing her to scream in terror. Mr. Zheng continued to smile at Lu Qing.
Lu Qing's face turned cold. Long ago, he had seen from Mr. Zheng's features that he was a ruthless man with blood on his hands.
If he helped him this ti, who knew how many more people would suffer next ti.
He seed to struggle for a mont but finally said, "There are rules in our sect. We do not read fortunes for those who commit cris. Mr. Zheng, even if you kill today, my answer remains the sa."
A cold glint flashed in Mr. Zheng's eyes. "Why would I kill you, Master Lu? You're still useful to . But I wonder, will your mother leave here on her own or be carried out?"
Before Lu Qing could respond, Sun i roared, "Lu Qing, will you just watch die? You're an unfilial wretch. I've known all along you were useless!"
Zhouzhou's small face hardened. How could a mother say such things? Lu Qing, however, seed accustod to this, turning his head away with a hurt expression.
"I'm sorry, Mother. We have rules. Today, I will not read for Mr. Zheng. Rest assured, if you die, I will follow. We will be mother and son in the next life."
Sun i spat at him, "Who wants to be your mother? I wish I had never been your mother in this life!"
Her eyes brightened as she turned to Mr. Zheng. "I disown him. We have no relationship. Mr. Zheng, deal with him and let go."
Zhouzhou breathed a sigh of relief, stopping her fake crying. Now it was her turn. She huffed angrily, pretending to be jealous. "Nonsense, you are his mother, and he loves you most."
Sun i panicked. "You saw hitting him. I don't want to acknowledge him as my son!"
"But he cares about you," Zhouzhou retorted.
Sun i hesitated, rembering how he had co back when she feigned illness. He genuinely seed to care for her.
She used to leverage this to make him obey and give her money, but now she wanted nothing more than to sever ties.
Straightening her back, she declared, "I don't acknowledge him. I wanted to abandon him since he was a child."
Zhouzhou clenched her fists, almost bursting with anger. "I don't believe you unless you swear to sever ties."
Without hesitation, Sun i raised her hand. Seeing Mr. Zheng's expression, she knew she wouldn't survive today if she remained tied to Lu Qing. She valued her life more than money and thus harbored even more hatred for Lu Qing.
She gritted her teeth and said, "I swear, from now on, Lu Qing and I have no relationship. Whether he lives or dies is no concern of mine. I sever all ties with him as mother and son!"
A small, barely audible snap was heard by only Zhouzhou and Lu Qing, who looked down at the broken bond line on his finger, a slight smile playing on his lips.
Zhouzhou also glanced over, letting out a long breath. Finally resolved! This vile woman, abandoning her fifth senior brother in danger. How could she deserve to be a mother?
Her mother, on the other hand, would only protect her. Comparing the two was absurd. Her mother was the best in the world.
With the matter settled, Zhouzhou quickly wiped her face and ran to Lu Qing, looking up at him with bright eyes. "Fifth Senior Brother, can I fight now?"
Lu Qing smiled and nodded. "Be gentle, don't hurt your hand."
Zhouzhou grinned. "Got it."
In a flash, her chubby little body darted to Mr. Zheng, lifting him and hurling him against the wall where he stuck like a fly.
How dare he bully her fifth senior brother!
Next, the man in black was also sent flying. Within seconds, most of Mr. Zheng's n were down.
As she was about to deal with the remaining two, the bodyguard rushed in excitedly. "Master Zhou, leave them to !"
He hadn't had a good fight in a long ti.
Hearing this, Zhouzhou redirected, tossing the n toward the bodyguard. "Here it cos!"
"On it!"
The bodyguard's eyes lit up. He kicked his long legs, sending the man flying like a sandbag. The man in black let out a scream, crashing into the wall.
They still hadn't realized what had happened. Where was the sweet little girl they had expected?
Zhouzhou smiled, raising her chubby hand for a high-five with the bodyguard. Perfect teamwork!
