Shao Yichen gave the crew three days off, and imdiately packed her bags along with Jiang Miaomiao and the other core mbers who had worked on "The Web." The next day, they flew to the Golden Leaf Awards ceremony venue.

The crew naturally had no objections—after all, although they worked regular hours, the filming location was in a scenic area far from the city center.

While the scenery was beautiful, being cooped up in the mountains every day was extrely boring. Perhaps only a pure hobody slacker like Shao Yichen would find it comfortable.

Taking advantage of this break, the other crew mbers eagerly returned to the city for so fresh air, acting like they'd just been released from cages—so went to karaoke, others went to restaurants. They didn't forget to show respect to the Golden Leaf Awards that had granted them this three-day vacation by closely following the award ceremony situation even during their leisure activities.

In comparison, Shao Yichen's group seed much calr.

Shao Yichen's team boarded their flight at around eight in the morning on the second day, and by the ti they landed, it was nearly noon. Before they could even find a place to drop off their luggage, they were t—or rather, ambushed—by the enthusiastic welco of the two Nan brothers.

Having flown to the ceremony venue a day early, Nan Rongyu eagerly loaded the luggage of all four mbers of Shao Yichen's party into the trunk, moving so quickly that Shao Yichen suspected he had long planned to use their luggage as hostages to coerce them.

anwhile, Nan Rongzhou coordinated perfectly with his brother, smiling as he ushered everyone toward the comrcial van: "My brother and I have already made arrangents. It's been nearly half a year since we've properly t, so we must have a good gathering with all of you!"

Gathering was fine, but their appearance didn't suggest they were just going for a al.

Shao Yichen looked at the twins in their leather jackets and pants covered in tal decorations, with black nail polish and red highlights in their hair. When they walked, the tal ornants on their bodies clanged together like so new generation of scrap tal collectors, setting off alarms in her mind.

She cautiously said: "Eating together is fine, but the other things aren't necessary—"

"That won't do!" Nan Rongyu, having just returned to the passenger seat after stuffing the luggage in the trunk, frowned upon hearing Shao Yichen: "How can a al not have music? Don't worry, we arrived early specifically to scout locations! We've already found a restaurant with a performance stage and booked it. The driver is taking us there now. Once the food is served, we'll perform our signature band songs for you!"

Beside him, Nan Rongzhou nodded vigorously to show his support.

Shao Yichen rolled her eyes in despair, thinking this was exactly what she had feared.

Can't they just eat a nice al without vocalizing?

But despite her thoughts, since the twins were so eager to perform, Shao Yichen couldn't bring herself to object. Besides, perhaps during this year and a half apart, the twins' performance skills might have improved dramatically?

After all, she'd heard that during the past several months while she was busy filming, the twins had held several small concerts. Their singing might have made considerable progress.

Sotis, breakthroughs happen in an instant. The twins had been making music for so many years that even if they lacked talent, with so much experience, they might achieve a qualitative change through quantitative accumulation... probably.

Thus, reassuring herself, Shao Yichen watched as Nan Rongyu and Nan Rongzhou strode onto the stage with great confidence, one clutching a guitar, the other approaching the drum set. After a heart-rending "clang" from Nan Rongzhou's drums, Nan Rongyu cleared his throat and delivered a stirring rap.

After hearing just two lines, Shao Yichen realized how shallow her earlier thoughts had been.

—These brothers' musical abilities hadn't improved at all!

They'd even added electronic music and rap, a double attack, a two-pronged assault that wouldn't relent until it had brought everyone down.

She finally understood that not a single person attending their concerts did so for musical appreciation. Every one of them, without exception, was there for the twins' looks.

But then again, thinking that these fans were probably enduring the concerts only for the twins' film performances, while the twins, having started their concert career, would likely never be film leads again, Shao Yichen felt so balance was restored.

When the song ended, Nan Rongyu took the lead in applauding himself, his face flushed with excitent. The four audience mbers, looking pale, still managed to force twisted smiles and joined in the applause.

Finally over!

However, this thought had barely ford when they saw Nan Rongzhou take the stage alone, holding an acoustic guitar.

...It's not over yet?

Oblivious to the suddenly dampened spirits of the audience, Nan Rongzhou smiled sowhat shyly on stage: "I'm very grateful to Director Shao for her encouragent with the soundtrack...and for carrying to higher ranks in the ga."

Shao Yichen: The second part wasn't necessary.

"So I'd like to play a piece especially for Director Shao," he raised his guitar. "...I've also made an edit."

Edit? What edit?

Before Shao Yichen could figure it out, the lights in the entire restaurant dimd, and imdiately, a huge projection appeared on the wall behind the stage.

Shao Yichen's stiff face lood large on the wall.

Sitting below the stage, she instantly recognized scenes from the only film she had cao'd in—"The Last Wish."

Looking at her unbearable performance, Shao Yichen was moved to tears.

Was this gratitude? This was clearly public execution, striking at the heart!

And they hadn't even edited out Li Xingyu's scenes completely! Shao Yichen thought, putting herself next to him... wasn't this just blatantly showing her being crushed by his acting skills!

What was the point of giving her such a weapon of mass destruction? After "The Long Ballad of Immortals and Demons" was released, they should send a copy to Fu Lianghui!

Unfortunately, Nan Rongzhou remained oblivious to all this and sang with great passion. Although his song didn't have the sa noise-based destructive power as his brother's, paired with the stiff horror film playing on the wall, it created a unique kind of lancholy.

When the song finished, everyone felt the goosebumps on their arms as they stood and applauded.

Shao Yichen, with tears in her eyes, quickly walked forward and grasped Nan Rongzhou's hands: "Who helped you edit this video? I want to have a good chat with them!"

"One of my fans... a fan," Nan Rongzhou, seeing how moved Shao Yichen was, felt pleased as well. "Of course, I paid her for the commission. Do you want her to make more edits for you?"

"Not for ," Shao Yichen saved the editor's contact information in her phone. "I want to give Fu Lianghui a deeply moving gift package like the one I just received in about six months—What? You don't know Fu Lianghui? Don't worry, he'll probably disappear from the entertainnt industry soon, so it doesn't matter if you don't know him..."

After the al and experiencing the long-missed ear-splitting music, "The Web" crew drove to the pre-arranged styling studio.

Luo Anan, as the agent, arrived at the styling studio a step behind Shao Yichen's group, having departed from the Morning Star dia company, and began directing the studio's styling for Li Xingyu.

Since this was Li Xingyu's first awards ceremony, it couldn't be taken lightly even if he was destined not to receive an award.

He was dressed in a high-end suit, appearing more mature and steady. From a distance, Shao Yichen thought the suit gave Li Xingyu the aura of a domineering CEO.

"Wow, Chairman Li, hello," Shao Yichen approached him, holding an imaginary microphone. "I'm special correspondent Shao Yichen. May I ask what your next company plan is?"

Li Xingyu played along: "Let set a small goal first... it's getting cold, let's make Liming Group go bankrupt."

Nan Rongyu gave a thumbs up beside him: "Chairman Li has vision! Don't forget to bring us little brothers along for a taste when you're feasting!"

Li Xingyu smiled, lowered his eyes, and began fiddling with his phone.

Although the Golden Leaf Awards weren't as authoritative as the Golden Man Awards—after all, the latter was held every two years and was an official award, unlike these privately sponsored ones—they were still considered one of China's top film industry awards. Actors who won Best Actor or Actress could be called film emperors or empresses, so quite a lot of people attended, with many stars gathered.

The young actors from "The Web" weren't particularly eye-catching among these celebrities.

Nevertheless, as the crew walked the red carpet, they genuinely experienced what it felt like to be the focus of attention.

Especially Li Xingyu, who had released two excellent works within a year. Combined with his mysterious deanor, he may not have had many die-hard fans, but he certainly had many casual admirers. Now as he stepped onto the red carpet, screams surged like a tide from both sides.

"Look! Isn't that Li Xingyu?!!!"

"Yuan You!!! Mommy loves you!!!"

"Ahhhhh he's just as handso as in the movie!!!"

Even hearing the fans' screams, Li Xingyu's expression didn't change much. He waved to the fans, smiled slightly, and without lingering too long on the red carpet, went to join the rest of the crew.

As the director, Shao Yichen was the last to appear from "The Web" crew—although she couldn't understand the significance of being the finale in the crew lineup, it was clear that others in the crew didn't care much about these details either, so she reluctantly took the final position.

She walked uncomfortably on the red carpet, feeling that the fans around were probably thinking, "Who is this person?" The dia showed little interest in her, with the cara flashes noticeably less enthusiastic than when Li Xingyu passed by.

But halfway through, she noticed the flashes suddenly becoming more intense.

Could so star have appeared behind her?

She turned slightly, using her peripheral vision to look beside her, and discovered that the flashes weren't aid at stars on the red carpet, but at another person beside it.

That person, guided by staff, was about to enter the backstage entrance of the awards ceremony when, hearing the host's introduction, suddenly raised his head and looked toward Shao Yichen.

Thus, Shao Yichen unexpectedly made eye contact with that person.

It was an unfamiliar face, bearing the traces of age, but still giving a first impression of ambition.

Although there was a smile on the person's face, Shao Yichen inexplicably felt a chill in this early sumr weather.

Fortunately, the eye contact lasted only a mont before the person withdrew his gaze and followed the staff backstage. Only then did Shao Yichen breathe a sigh of relief, quickly quickening her pace to join "The Web" crew waiting ahead for interviews, entering the venue to take their seats.

But sohow, that person's gaze lingered in Shao Yichen's mind.

Moreover, although the person's appearance was strange, Shao Yichen felt that his eyes were sowhat familiar...

She unconsciously shifted her gaze toward Li Xingyu beside her.

Even though Li Xingyu tried hard to pretend he hadn't noticed, after Shao Yichen had been staring at him for ten minutes, he couldn't maintain the pretense any longer—mainly because they were still being broadcast live, and such open, profound gazing at him might make people think there was so discord within the crew.

He asked: "Is there... sothing stuck on my face?"

"No," Shao Yichen replied absent-mindedly. "I just think an ugly person had eye-widening surgery to copy your eyes."
