Lan Zi Yu was practically counting on his fingers to provide evidence of how Yu Zhao always listened to Fang Cheng Lang.

They had grown up together as senior brother and junior sister, rembering every detail of their shared history vividly.

Effortlessly, Lan Zi Yu recounted nurous past events involving the two of them.

However, as he continued speaking, he fell silent.

Fang Cheng Lang’s steps grew heavier.

“Eldest Senior Brother, why do I feel like your attitude towards Little Six is sowhat…” Lan Zi Yu trailed off.

In his mind, Fang Cheng Lang had always been a refined and virtuous gentleman—tolerant and kind to everyone. So why did he seem like a completely different person when dealing with Yu Zhao?

Demanding, harsh, and devoid of empathy.

What chilled Lan Zi Yu even more was that, as soone who had witnessed everything firsthand, he hadn’t found Fang Cheng Lang’s behavior wrong—instead, he had beco accustod to it.

Lan Zi Yu felt as though he’d been doused with a bucket of ice water, his entire body freezing cold.

Fang Cheng Lang said nothing.

Long before Lan Zi Yu realized it, Fang Cheng Lang had already acknowledged his mistakes.

Now, all he wanted was to make ands with Little Six, to earn her forgiveness through his actions.

Yet, Lan Zi Yu seed to find an outlet for his frustration and began complaining incessantly. “Eldest Senior Brother, your attitude towards Little Six has been awful. No wonder she returned the Purple Cloud Bamboo Flute and ignored us. It’s because you made her heartbroken!”

“Eldest Senior Brother, since you caused this ss, you have to fix it. If Little Six refuses to co back, you need to apologize to her. If that doesn’t work, let her hit you a few tis—it’s only fair…”

Fang Cheng Lang had no intention of arguing with Lan Zi Yu initially.

However, when Lan Zi Yu pinned all the bla on him, Fang Cheng Lang’s anger boiled over, and he sneered.

“Lan Zi Yu, have you forgotten what you’ve said and done to Little Six? Would you like to help you recall? Hmm?”

When the ugly veil of mories was lifted, everyone’s true selves were exposed in the sunlight.

Lan Zi Yu turned ashen and froze in place.

He rembered.

He had said many hurtful things to Yu Zhao, belittling her to the point of worthlessness, and even forced her to apologize to the Little Junior Sister in front of everyone.

Lan Zi Yu felt as if all his strength had been drained, his hands trembling uncontrollably.

In a shaky voice, he asked, “Little Six… will she never forgive ?”

Fang Cheng Lang stopped walking. After a long silence, he answered in a deep voice, “I don’t know.”

That was why he needed to et Yu Zhao face to face and ask her himself.

Lan Zi Yu, still without an answer, looked despondent, causing Fang Cheng Lang to frown deeply.

“Enough! If you don’t know the answer, then go find it yourself! Do you think standing here will convey your apology to Little Six? Admitting your mistakes and correcting them is the right thing to do. I believe Little Six will give us a chance!”

Encouraged by Fang Cheng Lang, Lan Zi Yu managed to regain so confidence.

Suddenly, a thought struck him, and his expression shifted. “Eldest Senior Brother, wait for !”

Without waiting for Fang Cheng Lang’s response, he abruptly turned around and ran back toward the mountain.

If he was going to apologize to Yu Zhao, he needed to retrieve sothing first. Having it would give him more confidence.

Ye Cong Xin sat alone in a bamboo pavilion within the forest, sipping wine, her cheeks flushed from intoxication.

Yesterday, after being overwheld by Master Qing Yan’s oppressive aura, she had fainted. When she woke up, the person she hated most, Yu Zhao, had already been expelled.

From now on, Lone Moon Peak would only have her as the sole junior sister. The fortunes of her master and the five senior brothers would now be within her grasp.

Raising her wine cup, Ye Cong Xin’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “Yu Zhao, if you hadn’t insisted on taking a dead-end path, I wouldn’t have won so easily. Here’s a toast to you.”

Ye Cong Xin finished her sentence and drained her cup in one gulp.

She had a weak constitution and couldn’t handle strong alcohol, so she prepared a mild fruit wine for herself.

However, she rarely drank, and after just a few cups, she was already tipsy.

“Little Junior Sister! Little Junior Sister!”

Lan Zi Yu called out several tis before Ye Cong Xin, with a delayed reaction, realized soone was shouting her na.

She tilted her head, exhaling a puff of warm breath, and stared dazedly as Lan Zi Yu approached quickly from afar.

“Little Junior Sister, I finally found you!” Lan Zi Yu arrived in front of her like a whirlwind, his face brimming with joy.

Ye Cong Xin giggled foolishly. “Second Senior Brother, co drink with .”

Lan Zi Yu’s eyes sharpened as he noticed sothing off about her.

He glanced at the wine jar floating midair and slled the alcohol on her. Shocked, he exclaid, “Little Junior Sister, you’re drunk!”

“No, I’m not drunk!”

Ye Cong Xin made an effort to open her eyes wide and protest seriously, but her body swayed as she tilted to one side.

“Still saying you’re not drunk.” Lan Zi Yu caught her, a look of disapproval on his face. “Don’t drink so much next ti, do you hear ?”

“Mm, I’ll listen to Second Senior Brother!”

“By the way, Little Junior Sister, I need your help with sothing,” Lan Zi Yu finally rembered his purpose for coming.

Although Ye Cong Xin’s mind was muddled, she never forgot her own agenda. Without hesitation, she agreed, “Alright.”

Lan Zi Yu was elated. “Little Junior Sister, please give back the Purple Cloud Bamboo Flute Yu Zhao gave you years ago. I need it urgently.”

In an instant, Ye Cong Xin sobered up halfway.

She even began to suspect that she was imagining things because of the alcohol.

“Second Senior Brother, what did you just say?”

Lan Zi Yu repeated earnestly, “The Purple Cloud Bamboo Flute—the one Yu Zhao gave you three years ago. It’s purple, and I personally carved it. You don’t really use it, so give it back to .”

This ti, the rest of the alcohol in Ye Cong Xin’s system evaporated completely.

There was no way Lan Zi Yu would ask her out of nowhere for a flute from three years ago—especially one that had originally been gifted to Yu Zhao.

This had to have sothing to do with Yu Zhao.

But Yu Zhao had just been expelled from Lone Moon Peak by Master Qing Yan.

Even if they wanted Yu Zhao to return, they should be pleading with Master Qing Yan. What did Yu Zhao have to do with it?

Cautiously, she asked, “Second Senior Brother, why do you need the Purple Cloud Bamboo Flute?”

“To apologize to Little Six. It was a gift I had prepared for her; it holds a lot of sentintal value. It’s ti I returned it to its rightful owner,” Lan Zi Yu explained casually.

Ye Cong Xin felt so furious she almost spat blood.

Was everyone on Lone Moon Peak out of their minds?

When Yu Zhao was still here, they didn’t treat her well. Now that she had been expelled, they suddenly had an epiphany and were scrambling to ask for her forgiveness? How pathetic!

As if Yu Zhao would forgive them.

What a bunch of fools.

Ye Cong Xin raged internally, cursing Lan Zi Yu furiously in her heart. Yet outwardly, she maintained a delicate and careful deanor.

“Second Senior Brother, that Purple Cloud Bamboo Flute is too precious. I stored it separately, but my head is a bit foggy right now, and I can’t quite recall where I put it. Could you give a little more ti to find it?”

She hoped to delay the matter, stalling for ti. At the very least, she couldn’t let Yu Zhao feel too smug about this.

She had used this tactic many tis in the past to make Lan Zi Yu and the others fail to follow through on their promises. It had worked like a charm every ti.

“No!”
