Shen Jinci understood what Bian Yue ant.

Li Sihe unilaterally chose a path he believed was good for Bian Yue.

As for Bian Yue’s thoughts, they were not within his consideration.

Shen Jinci hugged Bian Yue tightly, he gently patted her back, soothing her near-collapse emotions.

The surgery went on till late into the night, the doctors told Li Tingmo and the others that the patient was temporarily out of mortal danger, but the prognosis was still not optimistic.

Bian Yue stood aside, silently listening.

Shen Jinci stroked her hair, speaking in an even tone with a voice only the two of them could hear, he softly said, "Li Sihe should wake up in a few hours, I know you have a lot to ask him, Yueyue, you two have a good talk, I’ll wait for you in the car."

Bian Yue looked at Shen Jinci dumbfounded, her expression hesitant, "You... aren’t you going to stay with ?"

"Uh-huh," Shen Jinci stroked her hair again, "I’ll wait for you in the car, and we’ll go ho together."

He finished speaking and kissed her forehead.

Shen Jinci understood sothing in his youth, that was, to facilitate.

Obsession could only trap soone.

For Bian Yue, even if the love for Li Sihe was gone, the concern would still be there.

Therefore, rather than leaving her tornted and restless, it was better to make the decision for her from the start.

Little Yue was such a kind person; she wouldn’t bear to hurt soone who cared about her, not to ntion the great concession he had made tonight.

This move could touch Bian Yue and likewise, could sever any possibilities between the two completely.

The Koenigsegg stopped in the silent rainy night, the wipers gently wiped away the rain, eroding traces, the streetlights casting warm-colored light and shadow.

The fireworks at Shen Jinci’s fingertips flickered on and off, flowing through the serene night with an indescribable depth.

He gazed in the direction of the hospital building, the entrance empty.

Bian Yue would co back.

He knew.

What he needed to do was to let her be at peace and willingly co to him...

Bian Yue didn’t know how long she had been sitting beside Li Sihe’s hospital bed, the man’s expression pale, his features hidden in the dim light, only the steady operation of the ventilator reminding Bian Yue of his presence.

Outside, nurses on duty whispered among themselves, discussing the hidden secrets of the wealthy families.

"When will this rain stop? It makes us work overti."

"Even without the rain, we would have to work overti today. The Li Family’s young master’s visit to the Ghost Gate has alard the hospital director, the whole hospital is in chaos..."

"Hey, do you think he can be cured? He won’t die young, right? If he dies, it’s fate; even if you’re a billionaire, when it’s your ti to go, you go."

"Don’t talk nonsense! Are you out of your mind?" the other replied in a panic.

As they were engrossed in their conversation, they looked up to see the door being opened from the inside, Bian Yue stood at the doorway, face expressionless, looking straight at them.

Both were startled and hastily apologized.

"Sorry! Miss Bian, we were just bored on duty and chatting idly!"

"Yeah, Miss Bian, our apologies!"

Bian Yue’s face was calm with an indifferent air, "Nobody hopes to fall ill and cause you to work overti. I’ll have the hospital compensate you with extra wages, but please don’t curse behind my back."

"Miss Bian, we’re sorry, we didn’t an it!" The nurse who was earlier gleefully talking about ’a young life cut short’ now paled, bowing and apologizing.

Her face expressionless, Bian Yue saw the nurse trembling and furrowed her brows, softening her voice, "I’m not looking to pursue this, but no one deserves to die."

Having said her piece, she did not wait for the two nurses to react and walked away.

Walking along the corridor, she reached the bedside and froze.

Li Sihe had just woken up, lying on the hospital bed, his brows and eyes gentle, a mild expression on his face as he looked at her.

He had heard her defense, a faint smile on his lips, his peach blossom eyes tender as he hoarsely spoke, "Yueyue..."

Bian Yue’s face stiffened, then she sat down in the chair beside Li Sihe.

Her gaze lowered, her face showing no ripple, she spoke faintly, "I know everything now, so do your parents, everyone’s guessed it."

"Is that so?" Li Sihe chuckled, unconcerned, "No worries, what’s done is done. You’ve got what you wanted, so it doesn’t matter anymore, right?"

Bian Yue’s expression turned complex. Naturally delicate and vibrant, even with a questioning deanor, she looked captivating. Staring at Li Sihe, she spoke emphatically, "Li Sihe, what I actually want to ask you today is, do you think you were right, with no error at all?"

"I don’t think I did anything correctly," Li Sihe replied calmly. Looking at Bian Yue, his eyes complex, he lifted his hand as if to touch her cheek, but she dodged, so he slowly lowered his hand, softly speaking, "I’m just wondering what I can do for you."

"Should I praise your great love?"

Bian Yue laughed bitterly out of sheer frustration, "Sure, you can say you drove away because you were terminally ill, but you never bothered to ask for my opinion. Li Sihe, as a boyfriend, you never respected !"

She spoke of respect with utter certainty.

The already faint smile on Li Sihe’s face faded further, he squinted, murmuring gently, "Yueyue, I’ll accept anything you say, I just wish you could be a bit happier now."

Bian Yue took a deep breath, suppressing the surge of complex emotions; her voice hoarse, she asked the next question, "Is this a terminal illness?"

"Yes, incurable," Li Sihe responded calmly, his eyes and brows touched with a heartbreakingly charming smile, "Yueyue, do you think this could be the price of my betrayal?"

Bian Yue was speechless.

She couldn’t utter any cruel words to soone who was terminally ill.

Li Sihe guessed as much, so continued to smile, saying, "In wanting to protect you from being involved, I forced you away from the Li family, but I also slept with another woman, betraying our love. So, you don’t need to feel any burden. Every decision was mine; I never intended to tie you down."

"Li Sihe, if I were 18 this year, I might be moved to tears by your words, thinking you selfless," Bian Yue’s eyes reddened as she grew emotional, unable to contain her anger, "but I’m not a young girl anymore, I just find you selfish!"

Such fierce words of hatred.

Li Sihe accepted all of it, looking into Bian Yue’s clear and pure almond eyes, he sincerely said, word by word, "Yes, I am selfish."

Bian Yue’s rage stopped abruptly, she looked at him and slowly stood up, "You’re a patient, you should rest. I’ve said what I needed to; I’ll be leaving. Next ti, I will co visit you with Jinci."

Li Sihe’s expression shifted subtly, he suddenly reached out, grabbing Bian Yue’s wrist with a suppressed voice, "Bian Yue, don’t go."

Bian Yue was composed, "Li Sihe, it’s raining outside, my husband is waiting for to co ho."
