On the road, the rain was still incessantly pouring.

Bian Yue felt sowhat drowsy, lazily leaning against the car window, flipping through her phone.

Accidentally, she saw a ssage that had been missed.

It was from Zhuang Jie Ning.

Zhuang Jie Ning said, "Bian Yue, I’m back in the country, let’s et."

Bian Yue and Zhuang Jie Ning used to be friends.

Li Sihe didn’t like the lilight, and usually didn’t enjoy bringing friends together to socialize and be the center of attention.

Despite Zhuang Jie Ning’s superior family background, she ultimately got the tacit permission from Li Sihe to visit the Li Family daily, all thanks to Bian Yue.

But Bian Yue hadn’t received any ssages from her for a long ti.

Seeing this ssage now felt sowhat surreal.

The expression on her face caught Shen Jinci’s attention.

Shen Jinci asked, "Friend?"

His ability to read people was really impressive.

Bian Yue admired him and replied, yes, I have a friend who has co back.

Shen Jinci asked her, "When do you want to et?"

"I don’t know, maybe it’s better not to et for now..." Bian Yue paused, then added, "We haven’t been in touch for years, suddenly reconnecting, I don’t even know what to say."

Bian Yue wasn’t the kind to fret over lost connections. When Zhuang Jie Ning broke off their friendship, Bian Yue initially sent ssages, but later, confirming that Zhuang Jie Ning had a new life abroad and really didn’t want to connect with people in the holand anymore, Bian Yue calmly bid her farewell and wished her all the best.

Bian Yue wasn’t one for clinging.

Noticing Bian Yue’s lack of enthusiasm, Shen Jinci called her na softly, "Bian Yue, let show you sothing."

Acting mysterious, this piqued Bian Yue’s curiosity, "What is it?"

While talking, she already leaned forward.

She wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but she thought she heard Shen Jinci chuckle softly.

"I went to Pudu Temple yesterday," Shen Jinci spoke as he placed a strand of black sandalwood prayer beads on Bian Yue’s wrist, and said, "These have been blessed, to keep you safe."

It fit perfectly around Bian Yue’s wrist.

Bian Yue was surprised, touching the beads, "Why don’t you keep it for yourself? You need this more than I do."

Shen Jinci revealed a faint, serene smile, his voice weak and scattered, gently saying, "Life and death are predestined, let’s just be open about it."

Today, without her knowing, Bian Yue’s feelings for Shen Jinci had deepened. Hearing him say this, she instinctively covered his mouth.

"Don’t talk nonsense! It’s just poisoning, right? I don’t believe it can’t be healed!"

She spoke very firmly, and the next mont, she saw a gentle smile in his eyes.

His smile was really captivating.

Bian Yue even thought, there was a bit of a vixen’s charm.

But this is Shen Jinci, the most indifferent and unemotional person, the words ’vixen’ had nothing to do with him.

The two were at a stalemate, Bian Yue’s body pressing against his, the man’s cold and refreshing fragrance twining around her until she could clearly feel his heartbeat, only then did Bian Yue realize how ambiguous their posture was.

Frightened, Bian Yue let go and sat back, pretending as though everything was just an accident, "Anyway! You don’t need to overthink it! Shen Jinci, you’re going to live a long life!"

Shen Jinci coughed softly, laughing while coughing, his face showing a sickly flush.

His voice was light and lazy, enchanting, "But if I live a long life, how will you divorce ?"

Bian Yue thought, Shen Jinci might be concerned that negative publicity would affect Lixing Group.

"Don’t worry, when we divorce, just say I cheated," Bian Yue sincerely said, "You can throw any bla on ! I definitely won’t refute, and leave you with a good reputation!"

Shen Jinci’s smile on his face faded a little.

Bian Yue, however, felt that what she said made a lot of sense. She asked Shen Jinci, "Have you seen the news from the Mainland recently?"

"What news?"

"About a noble lady’s affair. A wealthy man cried in court during their divorce. Right after the divorce, the company’s stock hit the limit up." Bian Yue’s voice was filled with emotion, "Shen Jinci, if Lixing’s stocks hit the limit up, how much money would you make? Could you share so with ?"

Shen Jinci thought, fortunately, he was ntally prepared, otherwise this heartless young girl would drive him to his grave soday.

"I can’t share it with you."

"Ah?" Bian Yue felt sowhat aggrieved: "I at least contributed to the reputation rights!"

"At that ti we’d already be divorced, and the money I make would be post-marital assets, unrelated to you." The man’s voice was cold.

Bian Yue felt regretful, sighing heavily, "That’s really too bad!"

Shen Jinci looked at her animated eyes and eyebrows, and the lancholy in his chest seed to suddenly dissipate.

He smiled, his eyes softening again, "Bian Yue, I’m a bit tired."

"Ah? Then you should rest soon!" Bian Yue, naturally very sympathetic towards patients.

Shen Jinci said, "Yueyue, I want to rest against your shoulder."

"Oh..." Bian Yue sat up straight, patting her shoulder, "Co on, go to sleep!"

The smile in Shen Jinci’s eyes intensified.

He leaned on as he said, closed his eyes, as if drifting into a dream.

Halfway through the journey, Bian Yue stealthily turned her face to look at Shen Jinci. His sleeping face lted away much of his aloofness and even appeared a bit tender, quite resembling a gentle and soft noble son.

Bian Yue thought, indeed, they’re both favored sons of heaven, raised with top resources from the sa circle. Shen Jinci and Li Sihe, in so aspects, slightly overlapped.

The only difference was, this harmless and gentle appearance of Shen Jinci was sothing only she could see and was genuinely harmless, but this was what was rare and precious. His indifferent and selfish deanor displayed in public, superior over others, was how he looked most of the ti.

While Li Sihe, used his elegantly cultured noble deanor to mask his inherently cruel strategies, leaving no room for emotion.

Hard to say who was more ruthless.

When they arrived at the Shen Family Mansion, Shen Jinci woke up in good ti.

His slender fingers rested on Bian Yue’s shoulder, pressing lightly, he faintly asked, "How much money do you have on you?"

This question really hit the spot for Bian Yue.

"Mr. Shen, do you really have to say it like that—that I’m poor!"

"I’ll give you money."

Bian Yue’s eyes widened, "How much?"

"I haven’t thought about it yet," Shen Jinci paused, then said, "Let evaluate it first."

Bian Yue smiled and said, alright, let know after your evaluation.

It didn’t rain the next day in Xiangjiang.

Thinking over, Bian Yue asked Kang Yu for Shen Zhaoli’s hospital room number.

Assistant Kang was very nervous giving it.

"Ma’am, should we inform Mister about this?" Kang Yu said, "Young Master Zhaoli really has a bad temper."

"How bad can it be?" Bian Yue was nonchalant, "Can it be worse than Shen Jinci?"

Kang Yu had no response to that.

Bian Yue probably guessed the usual conduct of Shen Jinci, presumably very strict, all business, no sentint.

Kang Yu’s reaction confird Bian Yue’s guess.

Bian Yue thought, indeed, Shen Jinci is really quite good to her, at least in her presence, he has never shown any of the harshness he displays in front of others.

When Bian Yue pushed the door to the hospital room open, Shen Zhaoli had just woken up. The latter was sitting on the bed, with his leg in a cast suspended high.
