Zoe Lewis was wronged to death!
She didn’t even argue with him!
She clearly didn’t say a word, it was all him scolding her! Reprimanding her!
But she couldn’t say this to Mrs. Watt, after all, she was Ryker’s mother, and as a mother, she would naturally side with her son.
But Mrs. Watt wasn’t stupid. Zoe’s silence showed that they did indeed have an argunt.
She imdiately said, "Little Zoe, don’t mind Ryker. When we find him, I’ll scold him for you! I know my own son. Though he seems gentle, he actually has a stubborn and foul temper. He’s surely made you suffer, and as an aunt, I apologize on his behalf! But we must find him. You don’t know, when he starts digging coal, he does it day and night, to the point where he could exhaust himself to death!"
Zoe listened, tears streaming down her face, not knowing if it was out of heartache for Ryker or because Mrs. Watt was taking her side without asking the reasons.
"Alright, Auntie, I’ll go with you! I’ll head to your place right now!"
Mrs. Watt beca a weeping ss of gratitude: "Thank you for your trouble!"
Zoe didn’t feel it was trouble. If Ryker really went to dig coal because of her, then she had the responsibility to bring him back.
She just felt very aggrieved.
Obviously, she was the one who got scolded and wronged, so why did Ryker get so upset he had to fly off to dig coal?
It’s really unreasonable.
Zoe washed her face, hurriedly changed into sportswear, slung a small bag over her shoulder, and ran out.
Cherry Lewis happened to pop up and block her way: "My dear sister, where are you running off to again? Your eyes are swollen from crying, and you’re running out like this. People might think you were bullied at the Lewis Family!"
"There’s a bit of trouble with my friend, sister. Let through first, and I’ll explain when I get back. Ti is of the essence."
Cherry sneered: "Friend? You have friends? How co I didn’t know? I’m going to the Hunter Family today, you should co with , Old Madam Hunter hasn’t seen you in days and says she misses you."
"I have no ti today."
As Zoe spoke, she anxiously tried to leave, only to be pulled back by Cherry.
"How dare you disobey ?!"
Cherry was furious, raising her hand to slap Zoe across the face: "Who do you think you are? It’s because of the grace I bestowed on you and your parents that you’re alive today. Your whole family should be my servants for life!"
Zoe was focused on leaving, not expecting Cherry to suddenly hit her.
She couldn’t avoid the slap, and her fair cheek instantly swelled up, burning with pain that reached deep into her heart.
Zoe’s suppressed grievances erupted in an instant!
What the hell?!
Everyone was bullying her!
They must really think she’s a pushover!
She suddenly bent her knees, slamming into Cherry’s stomach, then grabbed her heavy little bag and smashed it hard on Cherry’s head.
Cherry only had ti to let out a cry of pain from the sharp ache in her stomach before she fainted.
Zoe kicked her and, seeing no response, slung her bag over her shoulder again and ran out.
The moves she learned from Grace Watt were really effective!
She hailed a cab and sped to the Watt ho, where Mrs. Watt and Mr. Watt were already waiting for her.
During the phone call, Mrs. Watt didn’t notice much, but upon seeing Zoe, she saw that she had been crying, and her cheek was red and swollen, with a vivid slap mark, obviously from soone slapping her.
Mrs. Watt shivered, pulling her over in fright: "Ryker hit you? That little brat, when we find him, you can slap him ten tis!"
