"Can you stand on your own now?"
"Huh?"
"I’m going to let go, you’re quite heavy."
Lefty said, releasing his hand from around her waist.
Zoe Lewis swayed a bit, then quickly steadied herself, her face turning red and then white.
What the heck, he held her and still managed to insult her.
She quietly pinched the flesh at her waist, sighing in relief. She wasn’t fat at all!
While the two were talking, a few people erged from the small villa.
Uncle Archer Price, Cousin Oscar Price, Cousin Lucia Price, and another man Zoe didn’t recognize. She guessed it was the blind date candidate for this visit.
Zoe naturally took Lefty’s arm, pulling him toward the door.
Lefty tried to withdraw his arm, but Zoe clung tighter and gave him a warning look.
Lefty stopped moving, fine, let her hold it, hadn’t she taken advantage of him enough already?
Archer Price saw his niece coming over with a man, his face instantly beca less friendly, but in front of outsiders, he couldn’t lose his temper and forced a smile: "Missy Zoe, you’ve finally co back. Your uncle hasn’t seen you for over half a year! Who’s this beside you?"
Zoe bead, warmly calling out to her uncle, then greeting her cousin and cousin, and innocently said: "This is my boyfriend, Uncle. Handso, isn’t he?"
As the saying goes, one cannot hit a smiling face. The niece was so endearing, Archer couldn’t just start scolding.
He sized up Lefty, then glanced at the Lamborghini, wary of underestimating him.
He carried himself with an extraordinary deanor, his looks eclipsing everyone around. Anyone who could be with Zoe must have a decent family background; after all, the Lewis family’s status was clear, and even if the Lewis matriarch didn’t favor Zoe, she wouldn’t allow her to be with a poor boy, to avoid disgracing the family.
The car didn’t seem to be rented or borrowed, it most likely belonged to this man.
When Zoe introduced him, Lefty nodded at Archer, following up with, "Uncle."
Zoe looked at him in surprise, assuming he’d use a less aningful term like uncle, not expecting him to actually say uncle!
But that single word imdiately put Archer Price in a difficult position.
If he accepted it, it seed like he acknowledged Lefty’s identity.
If he didn’t, so many people were watching, as an elder, would he lack magnanimity if he didn’t respond when a junior called him uncle, wouldn’t that be humiliating himself?
Fortunately, his daughter, Lucia Price, was quick-witted, imdiately chiming in with a laugh: "Sis, since when did you get a boyfriend? You never ntioned it. Could it be because Dad wanted to introduce you to soone, so you brought soone here in a hurry?"
Her tone was playful, like soone candid, speaking as a joke, leaving Zoe with no room to pick faults.
Zoe was used to her antics, smiling in response: "We actually just t not long ago, so I brought him to et Uncle right away! Uncle dotes on so much, worried I wouldn’t get married, and started arranging matches for . How could I let Uncle fuss over such trivial matters! Cousin, do you have a partner? If not, I can introduce soone for you; my boyfriend knows plenty of wealthy people!"
She imdiately tossed the ball back.
Since you all love arranging dates for , I might as well do the sa for you.
