Zoe Lewis froze for a mont; it turns out it wasn’t his card at all!

She had been touched earlier, thinking he had finally had a change of heart!

She was wondering how co Harry Hunter would suddenly change his ways and spend money on her.

Now, Zoe couldn’t even muster any anger, and he had apologized too, so it would seem petty to keep holding onto it.

She tugged at her sleeve and wiped her face hard, then opened the door and walked away.

Harry Hunter hadn’t finished speaking, and seeing her leave, he instinctively reached out to catch her.

He had just grabbed Zoe Lewis’s wrist when he noticed Evan Lewis standing outside the door, unbeknownst to him how long he had been silently listening.

In fact, Evan hadn’t heard anything, but the sight of his daughter with swollen, tearful eyes and her wrist held by soone was an infuriating fact!

He swiftly snatched his daughter’s hand away and pulled her behind him, like a mother hen protecting her chick, glaring at Harry Hunter, saying, "Secretary Harry, did you bully my daughter? I haven’t even touched a finger on her since she was little, how could you make her cry and grab her like this? Co with , let’s go seek justice from Young Master Hunter!"

Zoe Lewis was startled and quickly said, "Dad, it’s not true, Secretary Harry didn’t bully !"

"Do you think your dad is blind? You’re such a strong and obedient child, you’ve never cried like this before. Don’t shield him! Daughter, your dad is different now; if you’ve been wronged, speak up, don’t hold back. Let’s go find Young Master Hunter; there’s no way his secretary should bully my daughter!"

Her father, who she rembered as timid and cowardly, today was unexpectedly assertive, and the sight of him standing protectively in front of her made him seem so imposing and heroic.

Zoe had already stopped crying, but with her father protecting and caring for her like this, all her suppressed grievances surged back, and she threw herself into his arms, crying bitterly.

Evan Lewis held his daughter tenderly. He knew she had suffered many hardships and grievances, but those were from the Lewis Family, sothing he once had no power to change.

Now, as he was steadily growing stronger, he couldn’t allow his daughter to be wronged outside too!

Harry Hunter stood by, watching the father and daughter hugging while Zoe cried uncontrollably, and Evan’s eyes reddened too, overwheld with headaches and guilt.

No matter what happened yesterday, he wasn’t in the right, and even if Evan Lewis scolded him, he had to accept it.

He wanted to apologize first, to calm Evan’s anger, but Zoe wiped her eyes and spoke first: "Secretary Harry has nothing to do with it. He’s quite nice, didn’t bully . We’re good friends now, aren’t we, Secretary Harry?"

Harry paused for a mont, then understood; Zoe probably didn’t want any rift between him and Evan Lewis, so she kept speaking up for him.

She was very sensible.

She knew Evan needed the support of Harry Hunter, and as Harry Hunter’s secretary, his interactions with Evan would be very frequent in the future.

If there’s a rift, the work may not go smoothly.

Evan Lewis looked at Harry Hunter with great suspicion.

Harry Hunter had no choice but to nod: "Don’t worry, President Lewis, Zoe and I are good friends. Yesterday I said a few words that were too harsh and upset her, and it won’t happen again."

Evan Lewis breathed a sigh of relief and tapped his daughter’s forehead: "You, normally, aren’t you pretty tolerant? How co after a few harsh words from him, you ran off to Star Region Group? This isn’t a place for you to co, hurry down, the driver is in the parking lot. Go find him and wait for , I’ll take you ho for a bit. Your mom hasn’t seen you for half a month."
