Zuo Hong sighed, "I’ve told you, we’re just friends, ordinary friends, the kind of friends who don’t even have each other’s phone numbers."
"Then why are you shopping with her?"
"It’s a task assigned by our boss."
Mrs. Zuo was stunned, "Your boss likes to play matchmaker too?"
After the shock ca gratitude, "The boss is such a good person!"
Zuo Hong didn’t want to say another word to her. He couldn’t possibly tell her it was Zoe Lewis’s request, or else his mom would go on and on about what a wonderful girl Zoe is.
He hurriedly ushered his mom out of the room, locked the door, took off his shirt, tossed it into the closet, and headed to the bathroom for a shower.
The next morning, he left the house early, not daring to admit he was going to accompany Zoe again. Zuo Hong fled from ho as if he were escaping a disaster.
Instead of picking up Zoe first, he went to Harry Hunter’s house to et up with David and the others to prepare the cooking utensils and ingredients needed for the nature outing.
Jace was the youngest, the sa age as Isabella Weaver, seventeen years old this year, still in the age of being a foodie. Knowing they were going camping, and with Zoe as the main chef, he was drooling all morning, "Zoe’s fish is amazing, so fresh and tender, crispy on the outside without any fishy sll. I really want to eat it!"
Grace Watt wasn’t usually obsessed with food, but even she thought that the small fish were incredibly delicious, agreeing, "I’ve had other people’s cooking, but none were as good as hers. This ti, I’ll grab a few more pieces!"
David rubbed his hands together eagerly, "You all definitely can’t beat ! Haha, all the fish will be mine!"
Zuo Hong remained silent, thinking to himself that the competition was really intense and he couldn’t beat any of them, so what would he do?
He put a bottle of cooking oil in the car and said to the others, "I’m going to pick up Zoe."
The three of them looked over at him in unison, each shouting:
"Last ti you ate the most. This ti you can’t bribe Zoe!"
"Why is Zoe siding with you? You must have said sothing when you picked her up!"
"I’ll go pick her up; I want to use the chance to get close to her!"
Zuo Hong imdiately got in the car, started it, and drove off, giving the others no chance at all.
The courtyard was bustling with noise. Harry Hunter found it annoying, but Isabella Weaver was enjoying it.
She was in a good mood, "We’re going for a picnic again, how wonderful!"
Harry Hunter glanced at her belly, "This ti, you can’t roam all over the place. Just sit down and wait for the food."
"No worries. Last ti, I was so energetic without knowing. Didn’t I do just fine? I feel great, no need to be so delicate. Didn’t the doctor say getting close to nature is good for both the baby and ?"
Isabella Weaver hugged his waist, swaying and acting cute, "I want to catch fish too, and I want to catch a wild chicken. I saw on the news that there are quite a few wild chickens on Mount Verity, but we didn’t see any last ti we went."
Harry Hunter couldn’t resist her cutesiness. He gently hugged her and comforted her, "Alright, I’ll take you to catch them."
Even if Mount Verity didn’t have wild chickens, he would make sure it did just to make her happy!
By the ti the two of them got ready, Zuo Hong had already picked Zoe up.
Today, Zoe was dressed very plainly, wearing a white t-shirt and light gray pants, perfectly decent, not revealing anything that shouldn’t be revealed, and not wearing bright colors to avoid overshadowing Isabella Weaver.
She was long used to being a bit invisible, used to being a secondary character, even though Isabella Weaver didn’t need her to be. She subconsciously dressed in a low-key manner anyway.
