The next day, the weather was gloomy.
In the morning, dark clouds covered the sky, and by noon, lightning flashed and thunder roared, with heavy raindrops falling down as if foretelling what was about to happen.
The rain ca down heavily, and Cora Ginger was worried that Isabella Weaver might change her mind at the last minute, so she called her several tis to confirm.
Isabella Weaver had taken Cora Ginger off her blacklist just yesterday. Hearing Cora’s concerned voice, she simply smiled faintly and assured her that she would definitely go.
"Let’s go, Grace Watt, we’re going to the feast of betrayal."
"Alright."
Grace replied softly, feeling a bit of pity for Isabella Weaver.
If it were her, she couldn’t possibly manage a smile with how things had turned between the friends.
She drove Isabella Weaver to the Barnes Family’s mansion, with Isabella’s bodyguard following not far behind.
A little further back, out of Isabella’s sight, Harry Hunter sat in his car, his expression cold and fierce.
The red Range Rover ca to a stop in front of the grand entrance. Grace got out, opened an umbrella, and helped Isabella out of the car.
Cora Ginger and Peter Barnes ca out to greet them, both full of enthusiasm.
Isabella wore a gentle smile and handed over the gift, following them as they stepped into Peter Barnes’s luxurious ho.
Lunch was ready, but Isabella did not see the elderly lady of the Barnes Family that Zoe Lewis had ntioned before. There were only three of them at the table.
Later, even Cora Ginger left for so unknown reason, leaving only Isabella and Peter Barnes behind.
Then it was just her left.
The dishes on the table had been cleared away, and a servant quietly served hot tea, awkwardly saying, "Our Master Barnes is arguing with his wife. Please wait a bit," before retreating without a sound.
Isabella nodded, expressing her understanding.
She got up and wandered around in the living room to explore. Suddenly, soone barged in from the pouring rain.
Isabella took a closer look and found it to be Zack Ginger!
He was drunk and staggered toward her, attempting to make a lunge.
Isabella instinctively hurled the teacup she held across the room.
The scalding tea splashed onto Zack Ginger’s face, causing him to scream in pain.
Grace, who had been standing by outside, decided that Zack’s foul language was intolerable and promptly entered, kicked him several tis, knocking him unconscious, and dragged him out.
Upstairs, the argunt between Cora Ginger and Peter Barnes continued, as if they had forgotten about their guest, Isabella.
Isabella patiently waited, curious about what the pair was up to.
At a certain mont, Isabella suddenly felt dizzy, an overwhelming drowsiness seeping through her entire being.
This shouldn’t be happening. They had all eaten the sa dishes, so it couldn’t have been drugged. She had rely moistened her lips with the tea, not drank it.
When did she get drugged?
Isabella gently sniffed the air, detecting a delightful floral fragrance.
She had thought it was the scent of displayed lilies, only to realize that the lilies were rely there to disguise the aroma of the drug!
No wonder the couple had been arguing non-stop; it seed the drug’s effect was rather delayed.
Weighing her options, Isabella walked over to the sofa, comfortably lay down, and shut her eyes.
Just as she expected, the argunt ceased.
Soone descended the stairs, approached her, and called her na, "Miss Weaver? Isabella? Isabella, wake up."
Peter Barnes called out a few tis; seeing no response, he nudged her. When she still didn’t react, he exhaled a sigh of relief.
A beauty lay beside him, with skin as fair as porcelain, rosy pink lips, irresistibly inviting one to indulge in her splendor.
However, Peter Barnes dared not touch her because her female bodyguard had entered at so point, staring at him with a penetrating gaze.
